Unaware of the drama going on a few floors below them, Mona and Manny had managed to get Giles to take a break and let Mona sit with her mom for a while. Manny handed Giles the coffee and sandwich they had picked up on their way to the hospital.
Giles drank the coffee and nibbled on the sandwich. He laid the sandwich on a table in the waiting room. After taking another swallow of coffee, he looked at Manny.
“How did the wedding go?” he asked.
“It was going along fine when we left,” said Manny.
