CHAPTER 15
The next two days were less stressful. They had put a cot in Jewel’s room so Giles could stay with her and still get some sleep. Since they were assured of Jewel’s recovery, there was a more relaxed air in her room. She was still lying face down on the special pillow so she would not hurt her head where she was operated on.
Mona and Manny were not spending as much time at the hospital. They would go by and see how everything was and then leave. Manny was helping out more on the ranch, and Mona was helping Cathy get ready for Christmas.
Mona and Cathy cornered Manny and Alvin and asked them to watch the kids the next day while they went shopping. There was only four days, counting today, until Christmas, and they both had a lot of shopping left to do. Mona wanted to get Manny
