CHAPTER 16
After taking the kids to see her new home, Mona called Nessie and checked to be sure everything was still set to go for her wedding. Nessie assured her everything was fine.
“Relax, Mona. We have done weddings like this before. There is nothing improper about it, and all you have to do is look beautiful,” said Nessie.
“I’ll do my best,” promised Mona. Nessie laughed and hung up.
Mona asked Cathy for a key to her new home and Cathy gave her one from the line of keys hanging by the back door. Cathy helped her gather some sheets and towels and cleaning supplies. Manny and Alvin had gone to tell David about their granddad giving them the deeds. They didn’t want him to hear about it from someone else.
