“So having a welcoming party are we?” I looked at him, he was good looking but the vibe I was picking was a dark one. “Nope just stocking up, why would I need a welcoming party?” “You’re new here.” He smiles at me. The guy behind the bar clears his throat and has the boxes on a trolley, I slam back my shots then stand up. “It was nice to meet you but I’m going now.” He grabs my wrist tightly. “What’s your hurry honey, come dance with me.” He laughs as he looks to a table in the back filled with older guys, I pull my wrist free. “No, I said I am going home alone. Now please get out of my way.” I hiss at him, he looks shocked as I walk away. Once outside I walk up to my car and open my front passenger’s door, I help him load up the boxes. “Welcome to Lupines, not everyone here is as bad as that.” I smile sweetly at him. “I know I met you, good night.” “Cayden, my name is Cayden.” He says holding out his hand, I shake it. “Eva and thank you for everything.” I got into my car and drove home, I unpacked everything and started to change around the house so it became my home. I was sitting on the couch having a drink and thinking about Cayden when I felt the change coming on, I ran outside and screamed until it became a howl. I start to run, I don’t know where but I felt a kind of pull to an old farm I can see lights coming from the house. I slowly go up the window and see an oldish man and women just sitting there watching tv but they smell different just like the smell from the game only different. I can feel anger swell inside my chest but I close my eyes and try to settle my breathing, I slowly make my way home as I could see my house come into view a sound caught my attention it was a rustle of branches in a bush to my left. I keep walking straight forward then suddenly jump backwards and spring at the bushes, I grab the shirt of someone like me a werewolf. I growl loudly and bare my teeth, it does the same. “Friend, I am a friend.” Said a males voice, it was young between 18-25. “I have no friends, leave my land now before I tear you to shreds.” He sniffs the air between us. “Your new to this life, I doubt you have a handle on your urges yet.” He smiles at me, I flick out my wrists to extend my claws and stretch my jaw allowing my teeth to come out even more. “I’m a quick study, now tell me your name or get the f**k off my land.” He laughs as he turns around and starts to walk away. “Work it out for yourself, you will need that skill to keep clear of the others the real bad ones.” Then he is gone I walk back inside and lock my doors, I stay in the other form until I’m sure that I’m alone. I have a few more drinks before having a hot shower and going to bed, my nightmares are now gone but I feel like I’m now living in it. In the morning I woke up and walked down into the kitchen to make a coffee when I see a box on the back patio, looking around I slowly open the door and bend down to pick it up I take it back inside and put it on the kitchen island. I open it to see a small folded note on top, I pull it out and read it. “Welcome to Lupine Ridge your safe here, Welcome.”
