It's been a few weeks, New York was in clean up mode. Tony was funding and paying to help rebuild the city. Steve asked me to move to DC and share an apartment with him. I agreed nothing was really holding me here anymore. I had my staff and Grimore in the barn loft at Clints farm. I stood next to Steve. We were just happy we got this over with. After seeing Thor and Loki off, we all went our separate ways. I told Steve I would meet him at the apartment I had to go visit my dad in Forks, Washington. He smiled and nodded his head. I owed my dad a visit since I still hadn't called him. I opened a portal and stepped into it. I stepped out in front of a giant house in the woods. I knew I was at the Cullen's house. I wonder what dad was doing here. I sighed and went to knock on the door, but it opened before I had the chance. Dr. Carlisle Cullen smiled at me as soon as he saw me.
"Jade Swan. It's nice to see you. I assume you're here to see your father." He said to me while letting me in. I smiled and stuffed my hands in my jacket pockets. He led the way to the living room. The pack of wolves and my dad were there. I raised my eyebrows at them. Charlie jumped from his seat and ran over to me. He hugged me within an instant, before pulling back and looking at me.
"If your looking for injury you're not going to find any. I heal rather quickly. Like in minutes, sometimes hours." I said to him. He sighed and shook his head. Everyone was looking at me. I knew they were going to ask questions.
"Who was the big green guy?" Seth asked me. Excitement filled his voice. He was older but still so innocent.
"Dr. Banner, a few years ago, he had an experiment gone wrong with Gemma radiation. And now he turns into the big green guy. We call him the Hulk. The amount of radiation he was exposed to should have killed him but it didn't. Now he just has very bad anger issues. I've seen Hulk punch Tony. Lucky for Tony, he was in his Iron Man suit. Thor has been punched by him. Natasha has been chased and thrown into a wall by him. Me and Cap are about the only ones that haven't gone head to head with him." I said to him.
"How did Captain America stay so young?" Charlie asked. I could detect the wonder in his eyes.
"Well, in 1943 he let the government experiment on him. Dr. Erskine gave him a Super soldier suram. Well in 1945, after the death of his best friend Bucky Barnes. He went up against Johann Schmidt. After Schmidt died by the Tesseract. The Tesseract was lost and the only way to save the US was to force the plane into the Arctic. Anyway, last year shield agents found the Hydra plane. And found Cap frozen in a block of ice. When we started to defrost him, we found out that he was still alive. Just in an animated slumber. I was assigned to help him adjust and get a better grip on the new world. It was kind of like a punishment. Fury was pissed at me for New Mexico. So he wouldn't really give me an assignment more than babysitting," I said with a shrug of my shoulders. Not really caring for the babysitting detail.
"Who was the red head?" Bella asked me, almost jealous.
"Natasha. Remember back in 2006 when I came back and then left so suddenly to go to Budapest? Clint was on an assignment to kill the Black Widow. Natasha is the Black Widow. Instead of killing her, he recruited her. Anyway, we blew up a building, stopping the Black Widow program once and for all. And now Natasha, Clint and I are an unstoppable trio. All though we did have to fight Clint not too long ago. Knocked him in the head a few times." I said like it was no big deal.
"You knocked the guy that trained you in the head?" Jared asked me with a laugh.
"Yeah, I did it once and he started to break through the mind control, so Nat coldcocked him, knocking his ass out." I answered him like it was no big deal. As if we would fight all the time.
"You tag teamed him?" Charlie asked..
"He is a well trained assassin and spy that was under mind control. He could take it." I said, dismissing him.
"What happened in New Mexico?" Emmett asked me. I looked at him and smiled.
"I met my half brother. Unfortunately, he broke into a SHIELD area. I could have stopped him if I wanted to, but instead I walked away from him. And stopped my commanding officer from doing anything to stop him. Anyway, he was detained and then released and I was sent with him to make sure he didn't leave the state. After having a night at the bar with him and Erik, we went back to Jane's trailer and then, the next day, Sif and the Warrior three showed up and then Loki sent the destroyer. Thor was pretty much human at that point, since Odin stripped him of his god powers. By the way, Loki is the one we just faced in New York. Anyway, Sif and the Warrior three held the destroyer off until they couldn't any more. That's when I stepped in and took on the firey metal man of doom. This thing is 10 feet tall, made of pure metal and shoots a death beam of fire from it's head. Anyway, I held it off for a while until it knocked me in the head with its metal fist. I was knocked out and don't know what happened, but somehow Thor got his hammer and god powers back. And we soon met up with the other agents in the area. Come to find out, Loki let Frost giants into Asgard,so he could try and kill Odin, only to kill Laufey, king of Jotunheim. King of the Frost Giants. Also, Loki's real father. Only for everyone to find out Odin stole Loki from Jotunheim after this bad war. Odin and Frigga raised Loki as their own and as Thor's brother. They never told him. Loki found out by himself and got real pissy. He was already pissed at Thor since he was about to be crowned King of Asgard. Anyway, Heimdall opened The bifrost and they went back to Asgard. In order to save Jotunheim, Thor took his hammer and destroyed the Bifrost Bridge, thus making Loki fall through space. They thought he was dead until I informed Heimdall of Loki's arrival on Earth." I recapped the events for them.
"How strong are you?" Emmett asked. I smirked and crossed my arms.
"Stronger then you." I said, challenging. He smirked and looked at me.
"I highly doubt that," Emmett said in pure disbelief. .
"Wanna see?" I challenged. He chuckled but nodded his head. We walked outside. He sat a big boulder in the middle of the ground and put his elbow on it. I rolled my eyes and placed my elbow on the boulder and grabbed his hand. Everyone watched. Wondering if a Demi Goddess was stronger than a vampire. He pushed my arm but it would not budge. I yawned, acting as if I was bored. He took his other hand and tried to push my hand down, but once again it did not move. I pushed his hand down onto the boulder before letting go. They all looked dumbfounded.
"What?" I asked them.
"How?" Emmett asked me.
"Oh please, I'm an Asgardian princess. My strength is triple that of a human and double that of a cold one." I told him. My phone started to ring. I sighed and got it out of my pocket. I answered, recognizing the number even though I had never used it.
"Don't remember giving you my number, Rumlow." I said instead of a normal greeting. He chuckled on the other end not caring that I was being rude.
"I'm a Shield agent, you really think I don't know how to get your number?" Rumlow asked me. I rolled my eyes.
"And here I thought you would have taken the hint. Been a while Rumlow. What do you want?" I asked him while walking away from everyone. Rumlow was nothing but a flirt.
"Heard you were moving to DC? I'm stationed in DC, you know," Rumlow said to me.
"So that's where you've been hiding. Didn't think I wounded your pride that much when I pinned you in the field test." I teased him, He snorted, causing me to laugh.
"I let you win." He stated, trying to keep his pride..
"Yeah, sure you did." I taunted not letting him have the win.
"Meet me at Triskelion, in the training room. For a rematch," he demanded.
"I'm taking a break, Rumlow. Or did you miss the news? Just fought an alien army. Big battle, destroyed New York. You must still have been hiding under that rock of yours." I said to him, I loved pushing his buttons.
"I wasn't hiding, I was busy doing other things. Besides, I knew you had it all taken care of," Rumlow said back. Trying not to get annoyed.
"Whatever, I'll see you in a week for that rematch." I said to him before hanging up. Paul was watching me. I noticed I had a text from Steve.
"Just got to the apartment. When are you coming?" The text read.
"I'll be there in a few hours. Why don't you start on that list of TV shows." I texted him. I placed my phone in my pocket and looked up. Paul was standing in front of me. His hands were in his pockets and he seemed to be really nervous about talking to me.
"I'm sorry for the way I treated you back then when you visited. I have a son and a daughter now. Their twins." Paul apologized to me. I smiled at my once best friend. No matter what, I would always love him, even if he wanted to hate me.
"It's fine Paul. Don't worry about it. And I know, I check in on you every now and again." I told him. He looked at me in question. I just shook my head at him, not wanting to answer. I walked over to my dad and told him I needed to get settled in DC, because Steve and I had just moved there together.
"Are you and Steve Rogers dating?" My dad asked, almost disgusted. If I had a drink I would have done a spit take. I laughed though because I couldn't see myself dating someone like Steve.
"Really, Steve and I? That's f*****g funny. Steve is not my type. He's awesome but he's more, of a bro then anything." I said to him, still laughing. He looked relieved when I said that. "Besides, he is still in love with Agent Carter." I continued, he looked confused. So I figured I would give him just a little more information. "Agent Carter was with Steve in the war. She knew him before the experiment. That's why Steve and I moved to DC. She's in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. He wants to be closer to her," Dad nodded and hugged me once more. Once he let go, I opened a portal to the apartment in DC. I turned and looked at everyone I had known most of my life.
"See you guys around." I said to them even though I knew this would be my last time seeing them. It was time I left that life for good. They no longer needed me there. I sat on the couch next to Steve. He looked at me and shook his head. He was used to me just popping up out of no where.
"How's the family?" He asked me. I looked at him and shook my head, not really wanting to talk about them.
"They're fine. I'll miss them but it's time for me to move on." I said finally, because I knew he deserved the answer. Steve had quickly became my brother and best friend during this past year.
