Chapter 19

One year. It's been one year since I met Bucky. I have helped him regain most of his memory. Some of them came back on their own but I helped push some of them along with my magic. We have gotten closer to each other since we have lived with each other for a year now. No, we weren't dating, but that didn't stop us from growing closer to each other. I visited Bella and Nessie often, maybe not in person, but the same way I visited Bucky while he was still with HYDRA. I was there in spirit, I guess you could say. I sat on the old couch reading while Bucky sat at the table writing in his journal. I knew he was writing the memories he had regained. I had just unblocked more of them last week and more was starting to come forward each night. I could feel the shift in the air before I was pulled into a prophecy. "The time is almost upon us, he is getting closer. In three years, the world will fall and he will win. The stones will be placed together. Lives will be lost." I gasped for breath as I came out of the prophecy. Bucky was in front of me trying to get me to look at him. "What was that? Who is getting closer?" He asked, worried. I shook my head before closing my eyes. "I had a prophecy three years ago. It said, 'Everything is not what it seems. He may say he is working alone and the idea is his own. That is just what they want him to think. We are needed now but we will be needed again. The seven of us will not be enough. Once the stones are collected, he and his army will come. We will fail." I told him, then I told him about the Avengers coming together to fight Loki. But Thanos was the real threat. He was the one collecting the infinity stones. He listened to everything I had to say before he sighed and pulled me into his arms. I let him hold me for a few minutes, before I looked up at him. I could feel his emotions and read his mind so easily. He looked down at me and moved my hair out of my face. I could tell he wanted to take our friendship up a level, and instead make us a couple. I would be lying if I hadn't thought of the same thing. He went to lean closer. His nose was lightly brushing mine, His eyes were closing. I knew what was about to happen but I really didn't want to stop it. He closed the distance between us, smashing his lips onto mine. I closed my eyes and kissed him back. He pulled away just a little when we both needed air. "I've been wanting to do that for a while now." He confessed, I giggled a little and opened my eyes. "I know, I was just waiting to see if you would." I told him, he chuckled and shook his head. He got up and walked back over to the table. I rolled my eyes and went back to reading, but I couldn't concentrate. So, instead, I closed my eyes and focused on Loki's mind. He was in the throne room acting like Odin. I rolled my eyes and waited for the room to be cleared out and him to change back to his regular self, before I decided to visit him. He was pacing in front of the throne, not paying any attention. I rolled my eyes and sat on the throne. "I can see why you wanted this chair so badly, it's comfy." I said to him, making him jump and spin to face me. He seemed shocked that I was sitting on the throne of Odin. He looked like he wanted to say something but didn't know what he wanted to say first. "How?" He finally asked. I rolled my eyes and looked at him. "Oh please, back in 2012, I made a mental connection with you using a potion. It's one sided. Thor thinks it was temporary, but I knew otherwise. Don't worry, your secret is safe for the moment, since I have no way of telling Thor. I came to ask you something.", I told him. He seemed surprised that I was willing to keep his secret. He motioned for me to move, so I did, letting him take the seat. I stood in front of him waiting for him to respond. "What could I know that you want to know?" He asked with a smirk. "Thanos. The infinity stones. How do I stop him?" I asked him. He seemed shocked that I was asking him. He sighed and shook his head. "You have more power than Thor and myself combined. I even feel you are stronger than mother. If anyone can stop Thanos, it's you. You could probably destroy the infinity stones without touching them. That would stop him from using them. It wouldn't stop him from killing you though." Loki said to me. I thought about it for a moment and nodded. "Thank you, Loki. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. Oh and take it easy on Thor, he really does care about you even if you don't think he does." I told him before fading away. I opened my eyes and looked over to see Bucky still writing. I got up and walked over to the kitchen. I knew Bucky was watching me. I grabbed some food from the fridge and started to make us something to eat. I sat the sandwich down in front of Bucky before sitting down on the other side of him. "Thank you." He said, putting his pen down and picking up the sandwich. After we were half way done, Bucky decided to say something. "Who did you visit today?" He asked me. I was shocked that he knew I was visiting someone instead of sleeping. I looked at him confused, wondering how he knew. "I know the difference. When you sleep you tend to fall into a deep sleep. Nothing wakes you. When you visit someone, it's a light sleep. Anything can wake you up." Bucky explained, I smiled and shook my head. "You watch me sleep?" I asked with a smile. He rolled his eyes but smiled. "Not all the time, but when I wake up from the nightmares I find comfort in watching you sleep." He said, I smiled and got up to take our plates into the kitchen. "I was visiting Loki, he's the only one that has met Thanos, I was hoping he could give me insight on how to stop him." I told him as I sat back down at the table. Bucky seemed to think my words over before looking at me. "Did he?" He finally asked me. I nodded, but even I was unsure about what he had said. "He said I'm stronger than him and Thor put together and that I am even stronger than Frigga. He said my magic could destroy the stones but it wouldn't stop him from killing everyone." I told him, he nodded and got up. He walked over to stand beside me. He pulled me up to my feet and pulled me into his chest. "I think it's time you visited the team. They have a right to know what's going on and that he is getting closer," Bucky told me. I sighed, knowing he was right. Pulling away from me, he grabbed my hand and led me back to the couch. I laid down and smiled at him. He kissed my forehead before walking towards the door. "I'm going to go get some plums and a few other things," he told me. I nodded back before closing my eyes and focusing on Steve. I watched as the Quinjet landed right outside the farmhouse and they all walked out of the jet. They all stopped when they saw me. They seemed shocked. Even Clint was shocked. "What is this place?" Thor asked. "A safe house?" Tony asked in return while they all walked forward, towards me. Clint was watching me though. "Let's hope," he said as he watched me. I just smirked at him. I opened the door for everyone to enter. Laura walked in from the kitchen heavily pregnant. "Well you've been busy." I said while hugging Laura, who laughed a little at my comment. "Hi, company. Sorry I didn't call ahead." Clint said as he walked up to Laura and me. He hugged me before pulling Laura into his arms. "Hey." She said right before he kissed her, I walked over and hugged Nat, who gladly accepted before walking over to Steve. He pulled me into a hug but didn't ask the one question I knew he was dying to ask. "This is an agent of some kind," Tony said to Thor. I rolled my eyes and walked over to Tony, slapping him and hugging Thor. Nat laughed at the shocked look Tony was giving me. "What was that for?" Tony asked while rubbing his cheek. Clint and Laura were now looking at us. "For creating a murder bot. Do you not think? God, you are supposed to be a genius, idiot." I practically yelled at him. Clint cleared his throat to gain our attention. "Gentleman, this is Laura." Clint introduced the men. I rolled my eyes. "I know all your names. Between Nat, Jade and Clint always talking about you four, it's hard not to know your names." Laura told them. "Ooh, incoming." Clint said as Lila and Cooper ran in. Lila was so happy to see Clint, but as soon as she saw me she wiggled out of his hold and ran over to my waiting arms. I picked her up, hugging her. "Sissy Jade!" Cooper and Lila exclaimed in happiness, before greeting Nat, who took her out of my arms. I hugged Cooper before he went and hugged Nat. "Where have you been, Sissy Jade? We missed you." Lila said, almost crying. I sighed and took her from Nat. "I've been a little busy, but I promise I will visit you more often, but for now I need to talk to your Daddy, Aunty Nat and these guys. Why don't you and Cooper go play in your room and as soon as I'm done I'll come up and tell you a story." I told her. She agreed and ran off with Cooper back up stairs. Laura and Clint watched the two of them before looking back at me. "You're not really here are you?" Clint asked. I shook my head no at him. "I have very limited time, but I am currently still in my hiding place." I told them. Thor seemed to understand and could tell the others didn't quite know what was going on. "Loki had this same power, It's almost like spirit travel." Thor said, with me nodding my head. I could see something was bugging him, so I walked up to him`and placed my hand on his cheek. "Show me." I tell him. He nods and opens his mind to me. I saw the girl and the vision she had given him. I nodded. "Go, you won't find the answers here, but just wait a few minutes. What I have to say involves you," I told him. He nodded in understanding Steve was watching our whole exchange. "I had another prophecy. You all remember the one I had in 2012 before we fought Loki?" I asked them. They all nodded but Clint looked confused. Nat leaned over and told him she would explain later. He nodded and looked back at me. "What did it say?" Steve asked. Tony even seemed worried. I looked at all of their grave faces before looking back at Steve. "It said, 'The time is almost upon us, he is getting closer. In three years, the world will fall and he will win. The stones will be placed together. Lives will be lost." I told them. They all looked at each other but it was Thor who spoke. "That's not all the information though, is it?" He asked and I shook my head no at him. "I have the power to destroy the stones. Loki has told me that I am stronger than Thor and himself put together and that I am even stronger than mother was. We have three years until the stones are all collected and placed together. We can't let either one of the prophecies become a reality. We need to stop it when it happens, end it once and for all." I told them. Thor looked confused as to how I had spoken to Loki. "Thor, Loki is still alive, he faked his death once again. I'm sure you'll find him or he'll show himself to you in due time. For now, go get the answers you need." I said, he nodded and took off out of the house. I told the others I was going to go tell the kids a story and then I would come back and answer their questions. Once up stairs, I sat on Lila's floor while both kids sat on the bed looking at me. "Okay, so what story do you want to hear today?" I asked them. I knew Nat and Clint were watching me from the doorway. They acted as if they were thinking before smiling. "Forks!" They both exclaimed, I chuckled and shook my head. "How about I tell you all about the Cullens and my sister Bella today?" I asked them. They both nodded their heads in agreement. "Okay, so remember what I told you about Paul and his friends, how they turn into giant wolves to fight the cold ones?" I asked them. They once again nodded their heads. "Well, the Cullens are like no other cold ones. Instead of red eyes, they have golden eyes. They don't take the blood of humans, instead they live on animals. I went to school with them for two years before my sister Bella moved in with me and our dad. When she moved in she caught the eye of one of the cold ones." I said, Lila gasped. I glanced at Clint to see him shaking his head while Nat was rolling her eyes at me. "Oh no, is she okay?" Lila asked. I nodded my head. "Well, she is now a cold one just like her husband and has a daughter. Bella wasn't happy to find out Jacob had nicknamed her daughter after the lochness moster." I tell them. Cooper and Lila both giggled. "What's her name?" Cooper asked. "Her name is Renesmee. Bella came up with the name. You see, Edward's adoptive mother's name is Esme and Bella's mother's name is Renee, so she created her own name using both of their names. And she did the same for their father's name. Renesmee's full name is Renesmee Carlie Cullen." I told them. "Wow. Can we meet the wolves and cold ones?" Cooper asked. I shook my head. "That's probably not a good idea. You see no one is supposed to know about either of them. I know about them because my mother Frigga gave the Wolves their magic, giving them the strength to protect their home from the cold ones. And the cold ones, well they have a whole lot of other rules." I tell them, they both nod in understanding. "Are these the bedtime stories you tell them to get them to go to sleep?" Clint finally asked. Lila and Cooper both laugh before nodding their heads. "Filling their heads with werewolves and vampires before bed. We gotta make sure you start coming up with books or something." Clint said with a laugh. Nat just shook her head and walked into the room. I kissed the kid's head before I walked out of the room. Once back downstairs, I hugged Laura and told her I would stop by to see them soon, but I needed to talk to Steve and then I had to go. She told me he was out chopping wood, so I walked out and found him. I walked over to him. He swung the axe down onto the log, splitting it in half. "Hey. I have to go soon but I wanted you to know he's gaining his memory every day. He's making progress. I'm hoping I will soon be able to let you know where we are, but just trust me for now." I told him, he sighed and sat the axe down. "I do trust you, I just wish I knew what was going on. He's my best friend, just like you are. I just want to know you are both taken care of and happy," Steve said. I placed my hand on his shoulder and nodded. "We're safe and happy. I take care of him and, surprisingly, he takes care of me too. We understand each other better than I originally thought we would. Don't worry, he remembers you. He's just scared of seeing you. Give him time." I tell him, he nods and hugs me before I tell him I have to go. I fade away. My eyes opened and I heard Bucky in the kitchen cooking something. I sat up and looked around. He has his back to me. I could clearly see he was cooking something, so I got up and walked over to him. "Hey." I say from beside him, he smiles down at me. Not even surprised that I had walked up beside him without him knowing. He had gotten used to my quiet movements. "How was the team?" He asked. "They were good. They were at Clints, which was surprising since only Nat and I have ever been there. But they needed a place to lie low. Tony's murder bot is out to get them. I would have been back sooner but I had to spend time with my niece and nephew. It's been a year since I've seen them." I tell him, he nods and frowns. I shook my head at him, not wanting him to feel guilty. "It's fine, I promised them I would visit more often. Now, what are you cooking?" I asked him, he smiled and told me he was making beef stew. He had remembered the way his mom used to make it and had wanted to make it for me. I smiled at him before standing on my tiptoes and kissing his cheek. The rest of the day went by with us just spending time together. He told me some stories about his and Steve's childhood, at least what he could remember of it.
