The Witch

Chapter 18

While Natasha disguised herself as one of the council women, Sam, Hill, Steve and Myself all walked towards the techs office. Hill would take control of it while Sam, Steve and Myself went to the helicarriers to place our chips into the system to override the targeting so they would shoot at themselves. We waited for one of the technicians to open the door. Sam and Hill both pointed a gun at him while purple mist moved around both my hands and body, even my eyes were violet in color.

"Excuse us." Steve says as the tech holds his hands up and steps aside, letting us enter. I gather the techs together while Steve walks over to the microphone. I nodded at him, giving him the go ahead.

"Attention, all SHIELD agents. This is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me over the last few days, some of you were even ordered to hunt me down. But I think it's time you know the truth. SHIELD is not what we thought it was, it's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The STRIKE and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don't know how many more, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want: absolute control. They shot Nick Fury and it wont end there. If you launch those Helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way, unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot, but the price of freedom is high, it always has been, and it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not." Steve finished his speech, but handed me the microphone before shutting it off. Knowing I had something to add.

"The Captain isn't fighting alone, he has the help of the Asgardian Princess. And I know if my brother was here he would stand with us as well. Asgard stands with the Captain. Lets put these bastards to sleep." I said before shutting the mic off and turning to look at the others.

"Lets go. We don't have long," I said to them. Steve and Hill gave me a nod but Sam looked at me in confusion.

"You're a princess?" He asked. I rolled my eyes, and we made our way down towards the helicarriers.

"Not really. Odin would never allow it. But Thor, Frigga, Heimdal, The Worrior three and Sif all feel I am the rightful princess of Asgard. They've even gone as far as to declare me princess of Asgard, even if it isn't official." I explained as we ran towards the carriers. We each have our own chip, we all run forwards. I use my magic to lift myself off the ground, I fight and stop as many HYDRA agents as possible. By the time I made it to my helicarrier it was already high in the air. I was almost to the targeting system when I looked back to see Steve and Bucky fighting. I stopped and ran back towards them. Bucky needed to see me. I pushed the chip into Steve's hand, shoving him towards the stairs, while I looked at Bucky, who had stopped advancing just to stare at me. Steve ran to finish the job, Bucky snapped out of his stare and grabbed his gun to shoot at Steve. I stop Bucky but as Steve gets the chip out, Bucky pushes me off and shoots Steve in the stomach, making him fall. I distracted Bucky long enough for Steve to get the chip in.

"Charlie locked." He said into our ear peices, I sighed in reliefe but that wasn't the end of this I knew it wasn't.

"Bucky, look at me, remember what I told you yesterday?" I asked him. He looked at me and slowly nodded his head. I was about to say something else but then the ships started to fire at each other. Bucky fell and was trapped on the next floor under some rubble. I looked up at Steve. We both got down there and got the rubble off of him.

"You know me." Steve insisted. Bucky lashed out at Steve in anger though.

"NO, I DON'T." He disagreed with him. Steve did nothing to stop him from punching him.

"Bucky, you've known me your whole life," Steve said. Bucky punched Steve, while Steve chose not to fight back.

"Your name... is James Buchanan Barnes." Steve said as Bucky hit him again.

"Shut up!" Bucky exclaimed. I knew I needed to stop it but I also knew Steve had a reason for doing this. I could see his reason in his mind. He needed him to remember the weak kid who was always being beaten up. He needed him to remember.

"I'm not going to fight you." Steve told his friend while taking his mask off. "You're my friend," Steve continued. Bucky pushed him to the ground, not wanting to listen anymore.

"You're my mission." Bucky replied, but even I could tell he was unsure, but he continued to punch him mercilessly. I finally had enough and grabbed his fist, stopping him from hitting Steve again. Not wanting to watch my best friend being beaten any more.

"Then finish it... Cause I'm with you... to the end of the line." Steve said as the ground gave way under us, Steve fell down to the river below us. While Bucky had stopped both of us from falling by grabbing an exposed pole from the helicarrier. He had also wrapped his hand around my hand, keeping me from falling. I looked up at him before looking back down towards the river.

~~~Bella's POV~~~

Once again, we all sat in the living room watching the news. It was all about how HYDRA infiltrated a secret government branch called SHIELD and how Captain America had taken them out with the help of the Asgardian Princess, The Violet Witch. They showed us a clip of the Captain falling into the river from a flying battle ship while the guy with the metal arm and Jade hung from the battle ship watching. The guy with the metal arm was holding Jade, keeping her from falling as well. We watched as they both disappeared from the falling ship and were soon on the ground. We watched as Jade went to walk towards the river but the guy with the metal arm stopped her and dove into the river. That was when the news anchor came back onto the screen.

"All though it all happened a week ago, no one has seen the Violet Witch since she dropped Captain America off at a hospital. Just as no one has seen the Winter Soldier. When the Captain was asked about both of them he only had this to say." The anchor was saying before showing us a clip of Captain America in a hospital bed recovering.

"Captain Rogers, where did the Violet Witch and the Winter Soldier go? Is she with the Winter Soldier? Is she in danger?" The reporter asked him. He smiled a little and shook his head.

"The Violet Witch is not in danger and, yes, she did leave with the Winter Soldier. She made him and me a promise. The Winter Soldier was and is my best friend James Buchanan Barnes. I thought he died in 1945 along with HYDRA, but I was wrong and, sadly, HYDRA got to Bucky before I knew he was alive. When Jade realized HYDRA was back and was with the government branch we worked in, she immediately started working against them and stopping their plans every step of the way. She met the Winter Soldier before we fought him on that highway. She found out that they were controlling him, torturing him, so she promised to help him get out of HYDRA. And when she found out that they were erasing his memories to keep him under their control. She promised to help him regain every memory he ever had. When she found out who he truly was, she then promised me that she was going to help him. So I have no doubt that she is with him. I also know they are both in good hands. If anyone can get Bucky back to the way he used to be, it's her." He said to the reporter. The screen changed again, back to the news anchor.

"Aww I'm glad Steve thinks that!" We all jumped up, turning around ready to attack at the voice. Charlie was shocked, as were the imprints and children. Jade stood in the entrance with the Winter Soldier behind her. He was wearing a jacket and gloves as if he was trying to hide his metal arm. We all calmed down at the sight of her. Charlie was quickly pulling her into a hug. She hugged him back but stepped back, blocking the soldier from coming closer.

"Carlisle, can we speak?" She asked him, not bothering to look at the rest of us. We all turned to look at Carlisle, who simply nodded and walked towards his office with Jade following him. She stopped and turned towards the soldier who was watching us not moving. She walked back over to him, grabbed his hand and pulled him with her to Carlisle's office.

"Why did she bring him here?" Sue asked. I could see everyone was wondering the same thing. We all listened to her talking to Carlisle.

"She's just asking Carlisle how to help him regain his memories," Edward says to everyone. They all seemed to nod in understanding as to why she was asking Carlisle. We listened for a few more minutes before Carlisle told her the only thing to do was to hope they would come back in time if her magic couldn't help. They walked back into the room. She looked at the soldier. She said something to him in Russian, to which he nodded before she turned back towards us and smiled.

"I'm sorry to drop in so suddenly. Look, I won't be coming back. This is the last time you guys will see me. I have to take him into hiding and it's going to be too dangerous for me to come and visit." She said more to Charlie than to anyone. I looked at Charlie to see him frowning. But he sighed and stood up, he walked over to her and took her hand.

"I know you always felt that I blamed you for Renee and Bella leaving, that I only saw you as a mistake that I couldn't escape." Charlie was saying. I watched as she glared at Paul. He quickly looked down. I didn't even know she felt that way, but Paul did. Looking around, it seemed none of the other wolves knew how she felt besides Jared and he was looking at Paul as well.

"But that couldn't be further from the truth. I never saw you as a mistake. Frigga told me and Renee everything from the very beginning. Neither one of us blamed you. I'm proud of you Jade. I also understand why you won't be coming back," he said, before looking at the soldier who was watching them.

"Take care of her, she tends to get into trouble." He told the soldier, who seemed shocked that he was being spoken to. The soldier gave a nod but stayed silent. Charlie moved away from her after giving her a hug. I watched as Rachel pushed Paul towards her. He walked over to her as Charlie moved back to the couch.

"Sorry, he had a right to know," Paul said to her. She rolled her eyes and punched him in the shoulder, making him laugh.

"You're just lucky I love you. Or you would be dead." She told him. He smirked and chuckled at her before hugging her. He walked back over to Rachel, who smiled at him.

"Jade." I called as she went to turn towards the soldier. She stopped and looked at me.

"Yeah?" She asked, kind of confused as to why I was calling her.

"Stay in contact. You have a niece, you should really get to know her." I said to her while motioning to Renesmee who was standing next to Jake. Jade smiled at her and waved. I watched as Renesmee giggled and waved back.

"Don't worry Bella, Nessie knows me." Jade said as she winked at Nessie. Who giggled and nodded her head. I was confused now. Jake chuckled and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"She's been visiting in secret. She has stopped by and played with Nessie many times." Jake informs us. I looked at her in shock, as did everyone else.

"Next time I make one of my secret visits I'll explain how I do it, but for now we have somewhere to be." She tells us before grabbing the soldiers' hand and they both disappeared from sight.
