Crystal stood at the doorway to Duke's house. All the way there she'd convinced herself she wasn't nervous – that their dinner date was nothing more than a friendly get-together where they would learn a bit more about each other. Secretly, of course, she was hoping for more. She'd attempted to knock, but never actually did. As she composed herself one last time the door opened, revealing Duke.
“Oh," she said, quite startled when the door opened.
“Security cameras," Duke said as he pointed upward, “you never know who's gonna come calling."
“Right," Crystal replied, attempting to conceal her nervousness. And then she just stood looking into his house.
“Would you like to come in?" Duke asked, “I'm expecting you any minute now."
“I would, yes," Crystal responded as she stepped in.
