CHAPTER 1
~~~5 years later~~~
ASHLEIGH P.O.V.
It’s been 5 years since I run away
And 4 years since I gave birth to my baby boy and I named him Skyelar Chase Accardi
Yes I Gave him my surname
I raised Chase with the help of my cousin Khalix Monreal.
He helped me 5 years ago.He us always there when I need him,I’m so luckyto have him as my cousin and bestfriend.
*flashback
After I packed all my things ,tinawagan ko si Khalix.He is my cousin/bestfriend.Khalix knowsabout my situation and lagi niya akong sinasabihan na hiwalayan na si Xavier ngunit hindi ko ginawa dahil umaasa akong magbabago pa ang pakikitungo sa akin ni Xavier.Ngunit nagkamali ako,hindi na sya magbabago.And enough is enough,tama na ang pagpapakatanga,it’s time para sarili ko naman ang unahin ko.At pati na din ang kapakanan ng batang nasa aking sinapupunan.
After three rings Khalix answered
“Hey Ash,what’s up?”he said
“Khal *sob”I said sobbing
“hey ash,what happened?,sinaktan ka nanaman ba nya?”he asked,worry is visible in his tone
“yes *sob at may babae *sob syang kasama”I replied
“Gag*ng lalaki yon,I’m gonna kill him”he yelled
“Khal no,just *sob just take me away from here,*sob I don’t want to *sob stay here anymore”I pleaded
“buti naman natauhan kana couz.”he sighed
“just wait there ,I’m on my way.bye couz take care” he continued
“t-thank you couz”I said relieved that my cousin has my back
“anything for you bye.”
“b-bye” I said then ended The call
That night sinundo ako ni Khalix at doon muna pinatuloy as condo nya pinatuloy then a week later umalis kami papunta sa Canada kung saan naroon ang kanyang rest house.
Doon kami namalagi ng limang taon.Doon ko din isinilang si Chase.After 5 years nagdecide kami bumalik sa Pilipinas dahil na rin meron syang businesses partner na kailangan nyang I meet dito.

“Mowmy where are you uhm—" sandal itong tumigil na para bang iniisip ang isusunod
“going po?”asked Chase my 4 year old son, I giggled my son is a smart boy but sometimes he would forget some of the words.
“Baby, mommy is going to work so I can buy you toys”I smiled while pinching his cheeks
“ouch it hurts mowmy….’’ He whined while caressing his cheeks
“Sorry baby,here let me kiss it”I leaned closer to him and kissed his cheeks
He giggled
“But mowmy when will you be back?”he said while pouting,he’s so cute when he does that
“I’ll be back in the afternoon so while I’m gone your tito Khal will look after you,behave okay?”
“Yes mowmy”he said
“Hey Khal please take good care of chase for me”i said pleadingly with matching puppy eyes which he can’t resist
“As you wish Sam”Khal replied
Bumaling ang tingin kay Chase
“Chase sweetie Tito Khal will bring you to school,be nice ok?”
“aye aye mowmy”he said at nagsalute pa
I laugh
“Good bye chase love you”I said while kissing his cheek
“Good bye mowmy wove you too”
I hop in my car and start the engine its my first day working because I just finished the interview yesterday
Sabi ni Khalix wag na daw ako magtrabaho dahil kung may kailangan kami pwede naman kami magsabi sa kanya,But sobra sobra na ang naitulong nya sa amin kaya pinilit ko sya na payagan akong magtrabaho para sa amin ni Chase and gladly napapayag ko sya and now I’m on my way sa kompanya kung saan ako magtatrabaho
I’m So nervous but at the same time excited too.

Nakarating na ako XC CORPORATION
Dumiretso ako sa front desk para magtanong
“Do you have any appointment ma’am?”tanong ng babae sa front desk
“Uhm I’m the the new secretary “I answered casualy upang itago ang aking kabang nararamdaman
“oh you’re Mrs.Ashleigh Samantha Accardi?”she ask
“yes and it is MS. Ashleigh Samantha Accardi “I corrected I’m no Mrs. Because I am divorced
“I’m sorry for my mistake ma’am” pagpapaumanhin nya at saka lumabas sa cubicle
“This way ma’am “Anita at nagsimula ng maglakad
Sinundan ko into papunta sa elavator
Pinindot nya ang top floor
habang nasa elevator napuno kami ng katahimikan hanggang sa binasag nya ito
“uhmm Ash?,is it ok if I call you that?”pag uumpisa nya
“yeah I don’t mind”i smiled at her
“do you really want to work as a secretary here? I don’t mean that you are not good enough but our boss” she sighed before continuing I just listened to what she says
“he is super intimidating and so cold and he is always mad at everyone,alam mo bang wala pang sekretaryang tumatagal sa kanya ng more than one week?” she said..grabe naman `tong boss naming,hindi ko pa nga nakikilala nakakatakot na..
“talaga? Nakakatakot naman yan…pero bakit walang tumatagal sa kanya?”ttanong ko…dahil nagtataka ako bakit maghahire yung boss namin pero di naman pala paaabutin ng kahit isang buwan
Baliw ba sya
“ganto kasi yan.. yung ibang hinihire ni boss inaakit sya,ang lakas ng loob diba?inaakit nila si sir kahit wala naman epekto yun sa kanya..and si sir may policy na ‘ONE MISTAKE,YOU’RE FIRED’ kaya ayon madaming natatanggal sa loob lamang ng isang araw,actually ikaw ay pang 50 na ,na secretary na nahire”saad nya
Baliw nga ata `tong boss naming haystt
“ahmm miss?”pagpapahiwatig na gusto kong malaman ang pangalan nya
“sorry ang daldal ko pero di pa ako nagpapakilala,ako si Faye,Faye Villanueava”sagot nya
“ Faye,ano ba ang panga----“ naputol ang aking dapat na sasabihin nang bumukas ang elevator
“you better go na ash,if you don’t want to be fired on your first day”she said
Lumabas na ako at ngumiti sa kanya and then I waved goodbye dahil pasara na ang pinto ng elevator
Dumiretso ako sa pinto ng opisina ng aking magiging boss
I knocked on the door thrice
A voice answered “come in” That’s odd I mean the voice it seems familiar to me
Pumasok ako sa opisina habang nakatungo as I raised my head my heart skip a beat and tears are threatening to fall because when my eyes met his memories of five years ago came flashing in to my mind
Standing infront of me is no other than Xavier Calter
My ex husband
I took a deep breathe and cleared my throat
“Mr.Xavier Cartel I am Ashleigh Samantha Accardi your new secretary”I’m releived that even in my shocked state, Imanaged to speak
He was quiet for a moment
“Ah I see you changed your surname” He said
“Pardon me sir”I replied playing dumb
“Don’t play Dumb with me Ash ,I know you know what I mean mi amore”
I’m shocked what did he just called me mi amore??what is he up to
Seing me frozen in my spot he smirked
“I guess I still have an effect on you my darling Ashleigh”Sabi nya habang nakasmirk pa din
“So Ashleigh how are you?why did you left me?”dugtong pa nya
Hind ako sumagot,nanatili akong nakatayo sa harapan nya
“May iba ka na ba?Did you replace me already?”Tanong Niya
“I’m sorry sir but I came here to work not talk about my personal life,so sir can you please tell me where is my table?” I said trying to avoid his question
“Oh you’ve change a lot Ashleigh…..that one over there---”itinuro nya and Lamesa malapit sa book shelf
“is your table” his voice turn from playful to a cold one
Nakita ko ang table na itinuturo nya Ang ipinagtataka ko lng bakit sa loob ng opisina nya, I thought my table would be outside his office kasi diba gamun sa iba
Nung hindi pa din ako umaalis sa pwesto ko ,nagsalita Sya
“Any problem miss Accardi?”saad nyahabang ang mata'y nakatutok sa kanyang laptop,1his voice is cold that it sent shivers to my spine
“None sir” hindi na ako nakipagtalo dahil alam kong wala akong laban
Inayos ko muna ang mga gamut ko at nagsimula na sa pagrereviw ng mga papeles.
Time flies and it is already lunch time I’m still working on the paper work
“Ashleigh”Xavier approached me while I’m doing my paperworks
“Do you need anything sir”I asked nang hindi tumitingin sa kanya
“Eat lunch with me”his voice held authority and is sending me a message that I can’t interfere
But I’m not that Old Ashleigh anymore,Hindi na ako yung dating sunod sunoran sa kanya
Sa mga nagdaang taon marami na any nagbago at Hindi na muli ako papayag na maapi nya tama na ang ilang taong nagtiis ako noon.
“That’s very kind of you sir but no thanks”yes I resfused kasi kelangan ko dumistansya sa kanya but I needed this job kaya ako na lang ang iiwas
I continued doing the paper work but suddenly I was being pulled by non other than Xavier
He pulled me harshly and started heading to the door
“Sir stop” I yelled struggling to get out of his grasp
“No your having lunch with me” he said frustration is visible in the tone of his voice
“I don’t want to”I replied and tried to free my hand from his
Keyword TRIED sobrang higpit ng kapit ny sa aking kamay kaya naman hindi ko into mabawi
“Why?” he asked
Napatigil ako at nag isip ng pwedeng idahilan
Nakakabobo naman kasi na tanong ei,,sya kaya saktan ko ng paulit ulit nga ilang taon,tapos pag nakita uli kami umakto ako na parang bang walang kasalanan na ginawa at yayain sy kumain
Haystttt C.E.O. ka pa mandin
He huff’s in frustration nung hindi pa ako sumasagot
I rolled my eyes “None of your business”
“Ms Accardi can you tell me who’s the boss?”His face held amusement ashe looked at me
“You sir”saad ko na nagtataka,ano namang connect non sa pagkain ng tanghalian?
“That’s right so your having a lunch with me whether you like it or not” he tried to pull me again but luckily nakaiwas ako
“Even if your my boss that doesn’t give you the right to control me ‘hindi porket ikaw ang boss ko gagawin ko na lahat ng gusto mo,lalo na at hindi naman ito parte ng aking trabaho bilang sekretarya mo”I said firmly kasi Hindi naman pwedeng gamitin nya ang position nya para mapasunod ang mga taong nakapaligid kanya
“Yes,that is not part of your job as my secretary,but it is part of your job as my wife” He said
Literal akong napanganga sa sinabi nya,asan ba ang utak ng lalaking to at napakakapal ng mukang sabihin yan,pero sya yung ng file ng divorce
“Excuse me sir but, I am no ones wife and certainly not yours because we are already divorced” I said calmy trying hard to hide the emotion from my face
“I don’t care” he said coldly
Sure ba sya jan,kagigil naman tong lalaking to ang sakit sa bangs putekk
“What do you mean you don’t care? this is my life so -----“I was cut off when I felt his lips on mine
“Damn that should keep you quiet, now come with me”aniya at nagsimula nanaman akong hilahin
Hindi pa din ako nakakabawi sa aking pagkagulat Kaya Malaya nya akong nahihila kung saan man nya ako dadalhin.
