I settle down into one of those fancy lounge chairs, and by "settling" I mean awkwardly sinking into it like it's trying to swallow me whole. I finally allow myself to relax. The sun is just beginning to dip lower, painting the sky with streaks of orange, pink and purple colors. For a few moments I just stare. "Okay," I say softly, breaking the silence between us. "This is… actually perfect." Jasper slumps down into the chair beside mine, stretching his long legs as if he is meant to be here. "Told you." "Don’t get cocky," I say a little stubbornly, but my lips lift up into a tiny smile. Again, the sky changes, the colors becoming even more intense and I can feel something strange inside my chest. Like this is one of those moments you'd look back on and think, Wow, that was special.
