Blurb

Lena Brooks has spent years rebuilding a life that was shattered by heartbreak. By day, she chases her dream of becoming a fashion designer. By night, she carries a secret she has never trusted anyone enough to know.

Then she meets Adrian Hayes.

Powerful, wealthy, and irresistible, Adrian seems like the man every woman dreams of. He believes in Lena when no one else does, supports her ambitions, and slowly breaks down the walls around her heart.

But Adrian has secrets of his own.

He has a wife, four children, and a past filled with choices he desperately wishes he could erase.

As love deepens, hidden truths begin to surface. Old flames return, forgotten promises resurface, and the past refuses to stay buried. When the truth finally comes to light, Lena and Adrian must decide whether love is enough to survive betrayal, guilt, and the weight of everything they kept from each other.

Some hearts are meant to heal.

Others are destined to break before they can truly love.

Prologue
The first thing Lena Brooks learned about love was that promises could disappear overnight. The second thing she learned was that a mother’s love was stronger than heartbreak. The hospital room was quiet except for the sound of rain tapping against the window. Lena sat on the bed, holding her newborn son close to her chest. Her body was exhausted, her eyes swollen from tears, but she refused to let herself break. Not today. Not when she had someone depending on her. She looked down at the tiny face sleeping peacefully in her arms. Her son. Her Ethan. A small smile appeared on her lips,“Hi, baby,” she whispered. “It’s just you and me now.” The words hurt more than she expected. Hours earlier, she had still been hoping. Hoping the man who promised to stand beside her would walk through that hospital door. Hoping he would hold their child and tell her they would figure everything out together. But he never came. The only thing he left behind was a message. I’m sorry, Lena. I can’t do this. Four words. Four words that destroyed the future she had imagined. She had loved him. She had believed him. She had pictured a home, a family, and a life where their child would grow up surrounded by both parents. But life had chosen a different path. Lena wiped her tears and looked back at Ethan. “I don’t know how I’m going to do this,” she whispered. “I don’t know how I’m going to give you everything you deserve.” Her voice trembled. “But I promise you something.” She gently kissed his forehead. “You will never feel unwanted. You will never question if you are loved.” “I will work harder than I have ever worked. I will fight harder than I have ever fought.” A tear fell onto the blanket covering him. “Because you are my reason.” At eighteen years old, Lena had no idea what the future held. She had no idea how many nights she would spend worrying about money, how many dreams she would put aside, or how many times people would tell her that her life was already over. But they were wrong. Because becoming a mother did not end Lena’s story. It became the beginning of it.
