I WILL PROTECT YOU

1186 Words
Susan’s POV I was trembling when the other person hung up. I didn’t have any courage even to take one more step when my phone rang again. I was so shocked that my phone slipped from my hand, and a small cry came out of my mouth. Slowly I went to see who that is. Thank God, it was Raymond. “Hello,” I replied, trying to control my shivering voice. “Hello, Susan? Are you ok? What happened?” Raymond charged from the other side of the line. “Nothing happened. I am fine” I didn’t want to involve him in this But I know he is not convinced, but he did not want to argue. “Where are you? I want to meet you to tell you something. Can we meet?” “Yes, Mr. Raymond. Where will I come?” I asked. “Come to my home.” Then he hung up. I went to the bathroom to get ready. Raymond’s POV I need to give him this necklace to make her safe. I can’t let anything happen to her, not because she is my cure but because I want her safe, away from everything evil. Bryan will never let her alone, so I need to make her secure. As the burning man, I have told her everything about my childhood but didn’t mention her that Raymond and the burning man are the same. I got up and headed towards my home. I need to prepare anything. I want her to relax before I give her anything. --------- Susan’s POV I reached Raymond’s house. I can see so many servants and maids are working. It’s not like the previous time.  I went in and came in front of the mansion. ‘ring ring.’ I rang the bell. After some time, Mr. Johnson came to open the door. “Hello, Ms. Susan, please come in. Master is in his study, and he is expecting you. Please follow me.” I went behind the older man. We reached In front of a large door. It was well decorated and carved as well as cushions are attached all over the door with a fancy classy handle. Mr. Sampson pushed the door and let me in. I wanted in and was amused by the look of the room. There were books all over the place kept in order and decoratively. In the middle, there is a huge table and a chair. There, a masculine, straight figure is sitting. I knew it was Raymond. I went near the desk and called, “Mr. Sampson?” he turned to face me and gave a sweet smile, which is glad to see me, but something is bothering him. “Come, Ms. Taylor. Please sit down.” I sat, and he sat on the other sofa in front of me. We both settled down, but there is an awkward silence between us. We waited for each other to talk, but Raymond was continuously looking at me, and I was blushing. “What happened at that time, Ms. Susan?” I looked at him surprised, and from his look, I can tell that he is not intended to leave the topic. “Nothing Mr. Raymond, it was just..” I shrugged my shoulders without completing my sentence. “Just what?” Now his looks were cold and as if signaling me not to tell a lie. I shook my head and replied, “It was some random call. Maybe he is a psycho, threatened to kill me.” As soon as he heard my reply, his eyes became more and darker. I can tell his blood is boiling in the instance. “Don’t worry about the call, and I will take care of it. Don’t think much about it.” He told me and then called Mr. Johnson to prepare the lunch. “Let’s have some food; I know you must be hungry.” I smiled and nodded my head. When I was about to get up, Raymond got up quickly and pinned me down on the sofa. His face and my face were I inch away. I can feel his breath on my face. My cheeks are becoming red. I saw his eyes, filled with love and longing for something but for what I don’t know. “Mr. Raymond, what are you doing?” I asked in a shallow voice as if I haven’t eaten from the last ten days. He smiled and then moved back, “stay here, Susan, I need to give you something.” It was the first time he was telling Susan or maybe second, but I like it. It was like I have been named so that he can call me. I was sweating in that cold weather. He came and stood in front of me and gave me a box, “This is a gift for the starting of our friendship.” I opened it, and there was a beautiful necklace with a unique pendant. It was not like a regular pendant. “I can’t take this, Mr. Raymond,” I opposed because it was costly. You can tell it by a single look. He didn’t reply and took it out and kneeled in front of me. “Mr. Raymond, don’t kneel, this is not right.” “Look at me, Susan, do you believe me?” I don’t know where this question came from, but I don’t understand why I believe him in my life. “Yes,” I nodded. “Then please have it. It is for your safety. Promise me that if you get any call like that, then you will immediately inform me.” I can’t believe he is holding on to that thing. But I was almost hypnotized by his words. I was breathing heavily. He stood up and went back to put the necklace on my neck. He then came back and pulled a chair to sit close to me. “Listen to me, Susan, the call you got is not random. It was someone who wants to kill me. As you are close to me, he is threatening you.” I was shocked and didn’t know what to tell or do. I just looked at him blankly. “Don’t worry, and I will protect you, no matter what. Did you get it?” I nodded. “One more thing, come here every 15th day of the month.” I came back to my senses. “Why” this was my subconscious voice. “You will know this time. Just come.” ”Master, your lunch is ready.” Mr. Johnson came to inform us. “Let’s go” Raymond took my hand, took me to the dining room. It was so much information for me. I sat and ate quietly.
