It was the 13th day of his turning. Raymond invited Susan to come and stay over for three days. They have grown pretty much close within these days, and also Bryan’s investigation. It was lunchtime.
Susan’s POV
We both ate silently. I don’t know what to tell. I can feel Raymond was looking at me, but he is also at a loss of speech.
“Let’s part of our ways.” Raymond broke the awkward silence and that to tell this. I was almost taken off guard. I felt as if my heart is sinking inside a dark hole. I had a very awkward feeling in my stomach.
“Mr. Raymond, what do you think of me? Am I that coward to you?” He was dumbstruck by my reply. “I am not a person who will leave her friend just because some psycho threatened my life. And apart from that, I can take care of myself and handle such psychos.” I started speaking as if I just got my voice back and have a lot to say.
I don’t know why I was hurt as well as angry at the word of parting away. I pushed my chair and about to storm out of the room when Raymond held my wrist from my back when I passed him. I stopped and tried to take my hand from his grip, but he held it tight. To end my struggle, he pulled me and hugged me from my back.
I was surprised and tried to look at him when he firmed his grip to make me look straight. “Keep looking to the front. I can’t say this while you are looking at my face.” He kept his head upon my shoulder. My heart raced, and everything was silent around me. I can hear my heartbeat. Wait, I can listen to something else also. I can hear his heartbeat, too, which was precisely in unison to me. I can feel his warm breath on my shoulder. My head was wondering what he was going to tell.
“I have a secret to tell you, but I cannot tell it now because you will never understand it. I also want to confess that I am damn worried about you because that person is not a commoner. He is very dangerous. I want you to be safe and not to get involved in this business.” His words were like warm waves caressing my heart. They were touching my heart and even going to leave their impression.
I was sweating. “Please be away from me. Don’t contact me or look for me. If you are away from me, you will be safe.” He begged me. “But I don’t want to be away from you.” I murmured under my breath. I don’t know how I got these bold feelings towards him. Then he turned me around to face him.
“I liked you from the day I saw you, but I didn’t want to involve you in my life. That is because I am not what I looked like. I am someone who you cannot imagine.” I looked at him, but I can say from his face that he is holding many of his feelings. “You are engaged, I know that, but I have feelings for you too. I don’t know what feelings are these if this is just friendship or liking. But one thing is sure that whatever happens, I will be with you and am not leaving you.” I can’t imagine, I have told him all this.
He hugged me tightly. “But you will get hurt. So to prevent that, just come here, every 15 days. Stay here, and then go back. You will eventually get to know why I am telling you that.” I looked at him, and suddenly a voice came from the back, “Well, well. What a romantic scene it is.” We both looked towards the sound and I can feel Raymond’s grip went tighter on my hands.
Raymond’s POV
It was Bryan. How can he enter here? Why didn’t the guards call me to inform? “What do you want? Why are you here?” Raymond asked Bryan. I was watching each one’s expressions. Bryan laughed an evil smile. “Oh brother, what type of question is this? I missed you. Do you know what time this is? And I want to witness that.” He was looking at Susan.
“Susan, you go upstairs. I will call you when he is gone.” I told Susan as I can feel her trembling, and also, I don’t want her to know the truth now. I want to say to her myself. She nodded and about to turn when interrupted by Bryan, “Oh little princess, where are you going? Don’t tell me, brother; you haven’t told her yet.” He looked at me, making a pout. “Just shut up. Susan, go back to your room.” She went back. As her staying here is going to be continued, so I decorated a room for her.
“Why are you here?” I asked, holding the shirt collar of Bryan. “I told you brother; I am here to witness you burning and her too.” He gave a devilish smile. “That’s not going to happen. Just get lost, or you will be dragged out of my house.” I informed him after composing my calm again.
“You can’t force me.” He replied as his laughter disappeared. “Really? Want to try?” I picked up the phone and dialed a number, and as soon as I hung up, a battalion of trained guards came rushing into the living room. “You should have done your homework, brother.” I teased to Bryan. He laughed again. “Okay, brother, let's meet the day after tomorrow.” He went back through the door.
As all of them emptied the living room, I lost my control, and my condition worsened. Mr. Johnson came running, so is Susan. “What happened to you, Mr. Raymond?” Susan asked me. “Don’t worry miss he will be all right, let me take him to his room.” Mr. Johnson clarified and was about to take me to the burning room when I insisted to take me to my room. My temperature hasn’t risen yet so that I can stay in my place.
He asked the maids to close all the doors and take care of Susan. Susan kept on insisting him to go with him, but Mr. Johnson turned a deaf ear towards her. He made me sleep on my bed and went out to get some ice water. For now, I had fled Bryan away from here, but he will be back soon, and I don’t know what will be his weapon this time.
