CHAPTER 6

ERMIS

It's finally the day to travel to Crescent Canyon for the Annual Alpha meeting. I sent word back a few days and excited was an understatement to his reaction.

We are traveling in our wolf form because it's a more effective means, alongside with my Beta, Nevan and a couple of pack warriors, just in case the need arises. You can never be too prepared for an attack.

"Ermis, it's a pleasure to see you again" Alpha Finn said while pulling me into a bear hug.

I grinned "the pleasure is all mine, Alpha, thank you for having us."

"Hello Luna, you look as beautiful as always", turning to his mate.

"You flatter me, Ermis," she said amidst laughter while leading us up to our quarters.

"You're welcome once again, get settled and come down for dinner" she said while leaving with her mate.

Except I wasn't settled at all. My wolf has been pacing in the back of my mind ever since we arrived.

"Roy, what's going on please?" he didn't reply, as usual. I pinched my nose in frustration.

"Is everything okay, Alpha?" one of my men asked, concern coating his voice.

"Everything is fine. Don't worry, you can freshen up and go down for dinner"

Heading to the room assigned to me, Nevan followed me. "What's wrong?"

"I'm alright"

"I know you aren't, you look bothered, you're downright flushed. What's the matter?" he insisted.

"It's my wolf" I replied in defeat while sitting down.

"He has been in a state of unrest since we arrived. This has never happened to me before, and it's stressing me out. I've tried talking to him, but he is stubborn and has refused to reply."

"Maybe he can sense your mate" he mused.

"Mate, really?" I asked, stunned.

"I had a similar experience before I found mine," he said.

Mate? Moon Goddess, please let it be that he can sense her. I've spent so much of my life without her and I don't think I can do it anymore.

We headed down for dinner with the other pack heads.

"Alpha Ermis, long time no see" Alpha Alaric of Moonlight pack greeted "good to see you"

"Good to see you too, it's been a while" we continued talking about pack matters as we made our way to our seats.

"Alphas, it's a pleasure to have you all here in my pack I'm really honored" Alpha Finn said "We can start by discussing pressing matters at hand."

"There have been rogue sightings on the west side of the coast" Some Alpha said.

Rogues??? The sound of that made my blood boil. Ever since my parents were killed by them I have this deep hatred for rogues.

Suddenly, the most beautiful scent hit my nostrils, knocking me away from my thoughts. It was like the combination of vanilla and chocolate and something else I don't even know, but it was intoxicating. My eyes glowed red, as my wolf was clawing at the back of my mind fighting for control.

"Alpha, is everything okay?" asked Nevan in concern, because my wolf has the reputation of being vile, the other Alphas too were frozen in shock.

"Mate!!!" Roy said for the first time since we arrived at our current location. "Mate is in trouble."

That was all I needed to hear before I gave up control. Shift into my wolf, I sprinted into the woods not caring about the meeting, what stupid meeting my mate was in danger.

"Help, somebody please."

"mate??"

He looked ahead to see a scrawny brown wolf who shifted to a young man, hitting a blonde girl under him and ripping her clothes off. He charged at him, knocking the bastard out of her body.

"How dare he?? How dare he touch what is mine??" Roy snarled.

He shifted back and was naked because he didn't bother to undress before shifting; the impact of which ripped the clothes, but he didn't care, he picked up our mate. Her silvery blonde hair was matted to her head with blood. Looking behind us, he saw Nevan, our park warriors and some Alphas, including Finn.

"Alpha Roy, please we need Ermis back". He didn't respond. He kept looking at our mate.

"Alpha, please, she is bleeding out," Finn said.

"She will heal, she's supposed to" he said stubbornly.

"she can't" Finn said

what? I thought," what does that mean?

"What do you mean she can't?" Roy snarled.

"Please give us Ermis back, and he will explain, for your mate's sake please," Nevan said.

My eyes turned back to gray." Which way is the park hospital?" I asked, Nevan sighed in relief as I was directed there.

"Lock that bastard up, I will deal with him later" I said to my men who had already caught him, running in the direction of the hospital, Nevan hot on my heels.

"Killian!!! How dare you? You are the pack warrior, and you dare engage in this disgraceful behavior? " I heard Finn snarl, but that isn't important now. I need to make sure that my mate is okay. I will deal with him later.
