Chapter 17 - Dinner and a Rescue part 2

Tyler's POV Smoke ran as fast as he could through the woods, howling loudly. We couldn't feel Teira's pain but knowing she was screaming due to a punishment was causing a burning in my chest. I would kill David Harris for this. The house appeared at the edge of the woods and Smoke nearly leapt towards the door when Slate, Ryan's dark gray wolf, slammed into him. Knocking him away from crashing i through the door. Smoke got up, shaking the dead leaves out of his fur, What was that, Ryan?! We need to get to her! I linked hotly and he stood in front of me boldly. You can't just barge in, Ty. I'm worried about her too, but if we go in unprepared there's a chance he could kill her. Kyle's been locked in his room so he won't know what's going on down there. We need to wait for backup. he linked back calmly. I growled, my princess was being tortured and I was supposed to just stand here waiting?! Scr*w that! I shoved Slate out of the way but he held firm, I snapped at him angrily but he refused to move. Before a fight could break out, Snow, Matt's white wolf, came bursting out of the trees with several warriors behind him. He was carrying several bags of clothes on his back and I shifted back, not caring about how cold it was. Matt and Ryan shifted too, Matt handing us each a bag allowing us to change into a shirt and shorts. Ryan turned towards the warriors, "There's a young woman being tortured in the Harris household. We have been contacted by Kyle to help her as he is incapacitated at the moment and can't get to her. You three are to detain Mrs. Harris and take her to the cells. You four are to follow us to the basement where the young woman is said to be held, the rest of you are to search the house for evidence of the woman being kept prisoner here as well as rescuing Kyle. Understood?" he asked. "Yes, Alpha!" they responded in unison and I nodded not bothering to wait any longer. I walked quickly to the porch and knocked on the door. Matt and Ryan stayed back a bit so as not to give our plan away. Mrs. Harris opened the door a bit and stuck her head out, her face still made up from the day, went a bit pale at seeing me, "Alpha, what an unexpected pleasure. How can I help you?" she asked squeaking a bit. I tried to look as calm as possible but I could feel the aura in the house. Something was blocking anyone but the family from detecting Teira. I put that aside for now and focused on Mrs. Harris, "I needed to study for class tomorrow and realized that I let Kyle borrow my textbook. May I see him to get it back?" I asked politely. Mrs. Harris hesitated, clearly debating on whether or not she should deny me when a loud scream erupted from the house. Mrs. Harris paled and tried to close the door in my face when I stopped it and pushed forward, Ryan and Matt followed with the warriors behind us, "What are you doing?! Alpha or not you can't just barge into my home! Let me go!" she screeched as the warriors Ryan assigned started to drag her away. I raced to where I thought I heard the scream come from, I had seen the wooden door with multiple padlocks on it when we came over for dinner with Kyle. I wished I had asked him about it instead of assuming it was just a basement door. Matt got there first, it was clearly locked with silver locks. I cursed, it was obvious David didn't want anyone to disturb his punishment of Teira. Another scream, weaker than the last, rang out from behind the door and I didn't hesitate. Silver didn't affect us as bad due to our Alpha blood so I grabbed the door with the help of my brothers and we ripped it off it's hinges. It crashed to the floor in the dining room and light flooded the room below. Wooden steps led down to a dank, wet and slimy underground room. Water was dripping down the walls and the smell of blood and waste was heavy in the air. The room was airless, there were no windows, no circulation, if it wasn't for the crack underneath the door, a person could suffocate down here. We ran down the stairs, our warriors following behind us. The light shown down on a concrete slab that was tilted slightly and a small figure lying facedown on it. I growled seeing David standing behind Teira, the look in his eyes was beyond fury. Like he blamed her for everything going wrong in his life, he raised a black leather whip in his hand and I saw the glints of pieces of silver sticking out along it. I launched at him without thinking, fury getting the better of me. My fist hit his jaw first, knocking him to the ground before I ripped the whip from his hand. "How dare you touch me! Who do you think-" he started to yell until he saw my face in the light. Ryan was kneeling by Teira holding her face and assuring her that she was safe, while Matt tried to break the cuffs holding her to the slab. I didn't know if she could even hear Ryan. The back of her sweater was in shreds, blood ran freely down it from various lashings David had given her. Her beautiful brown curls were caked with blood from where he had gotten the back of her neck a couple of times and I was sure he was trying to kill her. David's face went white as a sheet then red with anger, "What is the meaning of this Alphas?! You dare to come into my home, assault me and keep me from punishing a rogue for trespassing on our territory?" he yelled and I gripped the whip tightly in my hand. I turned back to him angrily, "A rogue?" I asked deadly calm. David's face morphed into a sneer, "That's right, nothing more than a rogue who wandered onto the property. She has been warned multiple times to stay away but it seems Kyle has taken pity on her. We gave her a job as the housekeeper but apparently she seemed to believe she deserved better. I was merely showing her, her place." he said smugly. "BY WHIPPING HER TO THIS POINT?!" I yelled. David growled, "Watch your tone, boy. You might be Christian's son but you aren't Alpha yet." he warned and I raised the whip. "Tyler!" Matt shouted, bringing me out of my fury. I turned towards them, Matt had gotten Teira out of the cuffs and Ryan was holding her gently in his arms. "Now's not the time, she needs to be taken to the hospital. You're the fastest." he said quickly and I nodded to the warriors who walked over to David and picked him up from the floor. I took my princess from Ryan gently, "Save some of that b*st*rd for me." I growled and he nodded. "We'll be there shortly, just get her there quickly." he said as he and Matt walked over to David who started to yell his innocence as I carefully climbed the stairs. Teira's face was pale and her breaths were shallow, she was groaning in pain with each step I took and it sent an ache through my heart each time. "I'm sorry princess, I'll get you there soon." I whispered as I headed out the front door. "TEI!" Kyle yelled as he ran up the porch and I stopped shaking my head at him. His fists clenched and his eyes turned black, "I'll kill them!" he shouted but the warriors around him restrained him. "Kyle! She's not dead. Just hurt, I need to get her to the hospital quickly. Carry her and ride on my back. Ryan and Matt will deal with your parents for now." I explained urgently. Kyle jolted but nodded and gently took Teira from my arms. I shifted to Smoke and ran into the woods as soon as Kyle was seated firmly on my back. I tried not to jostle them too much, it was obvious Kyle had tried to fight to get out of his room but whatever his parents had done to his door prevented him from helping his sister. The hospital came into view a few minutes later and I shifted back after letting Kyle run into the building with Teira in tow. I changed into some shorts outside the building and ran inside seeing Kyle arguing with a doctor. "What's going on here?!" I yelled and the doctor jumped. Bowing to me he glanced at Kyle, "My apologies Alpha, this young man is demanding to be allowed to follow the young woman he brought in but protocol forbids it unless he's her mate or-" he started to say. I growled, "He's her older brother and she's my friend. Now let us through!" I said hotly and the doctor faltered for a moment before nodding and getting out of the way. Kyle and I raced down the hallway towards the room they had taken Teira in for an operation. We weren't allowed inside so we grabbed a couple of chairs and sat trying not to pace. I couldn't believe David would do that and to his own daughter no less! What did Teira do to deserve such treatment? I looked towards Kyle who was staring at the doors in a daze, "What happened tonight?" I asked. He shook his head, "Dad hated the idea. Thought Tei was complaining to you guys behind his back. I tried to tell him it was my idea, but that just made him more angry. Mom dragged me to my room before I could do anything else. I told her I'd get help, so I linked you guys. I didn't know he'd go that far." he said numbly. I put my head in my hands, guilt washing over me. It was our fault, if we hadn't interfered, hadn't tried to help her. She wouldn't be in here now. We had put our girl in danger not thinking that it would make her situation worse. She would never forgive us. Kyle put his hand on my shoulder, "Hey, don't beat yourself up. None of us knew he would take it this far, not even Tei. Right now, we need to focus on my sister and help her get through this. Then we'll deal with my parents." he said firmly and I nodded. The doors on the opposite end opened and Ryan and Matt walked through, both looking ready to kill someone. "David's in the cells. Dad wants to interrogate him after Teira's out of the woods." Ryan said and I nodded looking at them confused, that didn't seem unreasonable so why were they so angry? Matt answered my unspoken question, "Mom linked us while we were dealing with David. She scolded us for leaving Whitley early with a lame excuse only to go see a friend five minutes later. She's demanding we go and apologize to Whitley immediately as well as set up a date to take her out on in a few days."
