“s**t, s**t, s**t,” I whispered as I crouched behind a large-looking tree. I should have told someone. Russell. Stanley. Trenton. Anyone. But I didn’t. All I wanted was to make sure that the location was where Felix and his pack were hiding. What I hadn’t expected was to actually find them. I should have told someone. Now I was here without any backup, and I had no idea what to do. I took a deep breath and considered my options. I could go back to my car and call for backup. Or I could just leave and come back with backup. Or I could check things out. I had spent the whole night checking the database. It had taken so long that I had been so sure that I wouldn’t find anything. And then I had gotten a hit. A hideout near the mountain border. A lead. I should have told someone.
