Strangers

1023 Words
I kept staring at the dark brown eyes that looked back at me. His intentions did not lie in insight, but I did not want to find out what they really wanted. And then I felt a tug on my arm brought me back and I turned and Faced Aron. “Hey, what’s wrong?” he asked. “It’s nothing, I thought I saw someone staring at us, but it was just my imagination,” I said. He didn’t seem to be convinced about what I had just said. But we did not have time to argue. We picked up our belongings and walked out of the train. As we walked off the platform forwards the accent I saw the same Brown eyes following us. They belong to a tall man. This time the man did not hideaway. He kept his eye contact with me and I knew it meant trouble. I didn’t really have time to think. I grabbed Aron’s hand and started to run. Although, I had no idea where I was going because I have never been to Tullsilk before. The city was really big and with big cities come a lot of streets and alleys, which I was sure to use to my advantage.  I started to run down the street, and I made Aron run faster. I went left and right with no real direction. After a while, I turned back and realized I had to make sure I lost the man. So, I grab Aron and swung him into an alley with my body weight. And Aron had not said anything yet, but I decided to cover his mouth with my hand and stand close to him. His back was on the wall and I had pressed against him. And I waited for a while to see if anyone passed or tried to come into the ally as well. Once I was sure we completely lost him I looked back at Aron and my heart started to beat very quickly. I guess I didn’t realize how close I was to him and then I remembered my dream on the train and that didn’t help me calm at all. Then I venture to look and his face and completely regret it. He was just staring at me. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of the situation. I decided to walk away slowly until we were a couple of feet apart. And Aron did not pressure me or follow me. He just continued to stare at me. After a couple of moments he said, “ So, what is really happening Amira?”. I looked around to make sure no one was really watching or hearing us. Since everything seemed fine I decided to tell him. “Aron, there was a strange man following us and I do not know if his intentions are good or bad but I did not want to find out.” And he seemed to understand. “I thought he was following us too, but I didn’t want to say anything because it seemed you had already caught on.” He said, “ well, we lost him so now we need to figure out where we are going to stay.” He was right. This was not a planned trip and it was becoming night again.  We started to walk around and ended up in a house that was used as a hotel. We entered and there was this woman in an office. She had a soft and gentle smile. “what can I help you with?” she asks. “Can we get a room for two please?” I asked her. She said, “I am sorry, I only have one room available but it has two beds.”. I thought about it, but I didn’t want to share a room with Aron. Spending so much time with him made me anxious. I turn to Aron and say, “ I don’t think this is a good idea. Let's go find a new place.” He continued to look at me and shook his head in agreement. I was so relieved and we started to make our way out when we saw that it started to rain and neither of us was dressed for that weather. I turned back and look at the nice lady and said “We will take the room.” And I hear Aron say, “are you sure?”. I nodded saying yes. It had been a long day and I was not ready to get drenched in rain as well. I was honestly really tired. I could sleep with Aron today and look for a new place tomorrow. That was fine with me. We got the key from the lady and went up to our room. there we decided to take turns showering. Luckily I was able to go first. I let the water run down my body taking away the events that had happened today. I honestly needed a good night's rest and the showered would help. I brush my teeth and got dressed and came out of the bathroom to let Aaron in. he walked in without saying a word ended his thing. I laid in bed 'cause I was so tired and drifted off to sleep before he came back. “hello,” a  voice said to me. I looked around and saw a man with light brown hair in greyish eyes. I stared at them and waited for him to say something. “hi my name is Colin. what's yours?” he said.” your name is Colin?” I asked back, “my name is Amira”. you look familiar. oh right! it's the case I'm working on. it's so strange I've never dreamed of the victim talking to me. “hey I've been following you around for a while” he said “I'm glad I'm able to finally talk to you”. “what do you mean?” I said. he looked around and then preceded to tell me what had happened during my day.  I woke up and I didn't really think of it much because it was a dream, but he felt so real. but just as I was about to get out of bed, I saw Colin sitting at the foot of my bed. now I'm really going crazy.
