Second Innings of Love

Prologue

Karthik felt warm as the hot air of Delhi climate hit him the moment he stepped out of his private jet. He was happy coming back home after cracking an important deal in London. He wanted to celebrate this day with the love of his life Priyanka. As always, his driver c*m friend, John was waiting to receive him in his favorite metallic black Jaguar. He wanted to surprise Priyanka, less did he know that he will receive a surprise himself. They have been dating for the last three years. He was going to propose her today. He ignored the topic because of his work, but today he was ready to take a step forward. John drove him towards Priyanka's house. His smile never left his face. He was nervous as well as excited.

After reaching her place, he removed the spare key from his pocket and unlocked the door. The house was awfully silent. He searched for her in the kitchen, followed by the drawing room, but she was nowhere to be found. He was disappointed. He was about to leave when he heard some faint noises from the bedroom. He slowly tiptoed towards the room.

He slowly opened the door, but was shocked to see Priyanka in some else's arm, and that person was none other than Rohan his enemy during his college days. Before Karthik could react Priyanka saw him standing at the door. Karthik was fuming in angry, before she could explain herself, he punched Rohan on his nose and started hitting him continuously.

"Karthik stop," Priyanka yelled. He stopped at started looking at her. She was already in tears. He got up and started wiping her tears, but Priyanka pushed him and ran towards Rohan and hugged him tightly. Karthik was shocked looking at the scene before him.

"Priyanka what is all this going on. You are hugging the man who forced himself on you" Karthik spat. The next words that left her mouth chocked him.

"He is my husband Karthik. He has all the rights."

Karthik couldn't stand any longer and sat down on the near by chair. He could not digest the words that left her mouth. His Priyanka, the love of his life was already married to someone else. His eyes became glassy and before he could stop his tears they started flowing down. He left the place as quickly as he didn't want to show his vulnerable side to her. He sat in his car and dialed a number.

"I want all the information regarding Priyanka and Rohan," he said angrily through the phone.

He later found that Priyanka and Rohan were married from the last one and half year and the reason she was with him was for money. He could not handle the news, and he drank himself to death thinking that it was a nightmare and everything will be fine.
