Second Innings of Love

Chapter 10

Karthik POV                                                          

It has ten days since I said all those things to Sanju. Since that day Sanju is not talking to me, although I tried calling her only once in those ten days but I could not press the call button. I was busy in my thoughts when suddenly my phone rang,

“Hello, Yes mom” I said

“Hello Beta, are you free now?”

“I do not have any important work to do. What happened?”

“Today we have to go Sanju’s place, for dinner. So can you come home by 6 pm?”

“Okay mumma I will come.”

“Great. I will call Divya and tell her to call Sanju. Can you pick her up from her office? Her work place is near your office”

“Okay mumma”

I disconnected the call. Sanju is working somewhere I do not know about it. I will have to find about it. I sighed and continued my work.

I left the office at 5.30 pm and I called Sanju, she answered the call after two rings.

“Hello”

“Hello Miss Sethi be ready I will be reaching in 10 mintues.” I disconnected the call without listening to her reply and drove towards her office.

Sanjana POV

He disconnected the call even before listening to me. Arrogant much. How did he find about my work place? ‘He has his ways’ my brain mocked me.

I got a job through campus placement and I am the Marketing Head. Initially dad wanted me to join his company, but I refused. I wanted to do something on my own. I quickly packed my stuff and left from my cabin. I reached the main entrance and saw Karthik coming. This guy is punctual I must say. The guard open the door for me and I got in the car and left.

We reached home after 45 minutes, no one spoke during the whole ride. We entered his house and I saw everyone was busily chatting.

“Finally bhai and  bhabhi (brother and sister-in-law) are here” Anjali chirped.

“Good Evening uncle and aunty,” I touched their feet for their blessings.

“Good evening,” they said in unison.

I sat down on the nearby chair and asked, “What happened mom dad you called me urgently here?”

“Actually, beta your engagement and marriage date have been fixed.” Mom said happily.

I was shocked for as I did not except it this sooner but Karthik’s words played in my mind. I was not excited or happy for my own wedding, but the happiness mom and dad had on their face was priceless. I was happy to see their happiness. I saw everyone was quiet and was looking at me.

“When is it finalized?” I asked awkwardly.

“Next week is your enagement and 25th November is the wedding date.” Dad answered this time.

25th November means in next two months. I looked at Karthik he looked a little happy, I was confused looking at him.

He suddenly said “That is great mom I am really excited” and winked at me.

This guy is officially mad.
