Saving the realm of the Fae - Aos Si

Once I was a happy young woman who had the world in the palm of her hand. The heiress to the kingdom of Anwnn home to the weilders of light and life. My kingdom and its people were beautiful. Trees of white and gold and flowers of all colors throughout the land . Streets were filled with joyous people sharing all their crafts and delights. There was always smells of delicious foods, sweet or savory, you name it and it could be found . My favorite was the strawberry tarts from a little shop on the corner of Delewar court. So sweet and tangy with a hint of salt from the tart itself. But those days are long since gone.. Seems like such a distant memory now even though only a year has passed since it all happened. **One year ago from yesterday** We held a ball, as the kingdom of Dubnos ( home to the dark weilders ) sent message to my mother and father. They wished to meet to build more trade agreements between our kingdoms for our potions of healing and herbs for illnesses. Our kingdoms specialized in producing these items. In return our kingdom would receive support in our armies should war ever come to pass and they would train our soldiers as their kingdom was proficient in arms and warfare. They also made enchanted arms as they had mines that held special crystals you could use in forging items. These items held much interest. Carvin the king of Dubnos and Lila as well as their son and only heir Tristan came to our kingdom shortly after a date had been set to show they were a joint household and held no ill will. Carvin was a tall and broad man, with blackest hair and darkest eyes you have ever seen. He was wearing a black tunic and leather pants, with a crown of obsidian. He exhuded strength and power with very little sense of humor might I add. I always try to brighten situations that feel too tense with humor, unfortunately it seemed it was lost on him. His wife Lila was just as fierce, tall and lean, but muscular and lethal. She had long flowing black hair and deep indigo eyes that were almost black. She had a heartshaped face and high cheekbones . I heard women in their kingdom were allowed to train and often wore fighting leathers as well.. Thankfully today she wore a deep purple gown with a tight bodice that excentuated her bosom. If she didn’t seem like she was always looking for ways to plot I’d think her beautiful beyond measure. But I didn’t trust her one bit. Their son Tristan however was not hard on the eyes.. He was tall and broad like his father , dressed in a similar attire , same dark hair that he kept medium length. Dark curls that just barely touched his nose when they fell forward, and a sprinkle of freckles. He has his mothers eyes , though his seemed to hold more warmth in them. It made me curious as to where he got that warmth from as his parents seemed about as interesting and friendly as a stick in the mud. And he had dimples when he smiled as I had told my jokes.. Yup he was gorgeous. Father saw that my lightheartedness wasn’t being helpful.. “ Tenaya my sweet, could you please go check on the dinner and ball preparations? Please see they are ready to start within the hour. I’m sure our guests are hungry, and deals are best settled with food and drink .” “Yes of course Father, I shall go at once. I’m sure Milly has it all under control with mother. They always did make a great team.” Lila then spoke “ Tenaya dear, may I come along to offer my services and to also see more of your beautiful home?” “Why of course, the more the merrier..” I inwardly held in my eyerolling. I noticed Tristan was sending his mother an untrusting look from across the room.. Well that is interesting. We walked in silence to the ballroom where everyone was running about. Tables of red and gold being set with dishes and goblets. Food trays upon food trays, decanters of wine placed on all tables. Flowers of all colors spread everywhere possible. It was all coming together and was beautiful. My mother Eloynn and Milly stood at the back of the room on the dais looking down and overseeing it all. When she spotted me her face lit up with the biggest smile. My mother was always warm and happy. “Tenaya dear, come here darling. Oh why Lila highness of Dubnos.. It in a honor you would seek us out to offer help , please join us in our overseeing, were just going over the finishing touches.” “The honor is mine majesty of Aos Si and highness of Annwn, I thank you for your offer but I need to find the latrine first. Where might I find that?” “Oh, you should have mentioned sooner, Im sorry I hadn’t asked if you had to go . If you go out that way and down the stairs passed the kitchens, the second door after is where you will find what you are after” I replied with a smile. “ Thank you darling. I shall be right back to join you .” I joined my mother and Milly on the dais smiling brightly. “Theres my darling girl, one day you will rule this kingdom with your beloved.. Im sure you will receive the powers and blessing of Aos Si as next to rule and replenish the lands upon your next birthday during the festival of light .” “Is it really your 21 birthday this year Tanaya darling?!” Milly responded “Yes, it is. I’m nervous on whats to come of that day.. It’s only a month away.” “Don’t worry dear, we all go through our coming of age. It’s always a little nerve wracking, but your gifts you receive are always exciting and interesting to learn. Don’t worry too much it will all work out the way it is supposed to. Besides you already glow and are so lovely inside and out , I just know any power you receive will be just as beautiful as my girl. ” “Thank you mother.” Lila came back a few moments later. “Sorry ladies, I got a bit turned around and wandered into the kitchens by mistake. Thankfully your staff is so helpful and friendly they showed me the way.” “No worries at all highness, glad they were of guidance and you found your way.” “We were just talking about when we come of age”. “Oh were you..? My son Tristan just had his coming of age last year. I suspect he will be at least in the running as one of the next heirs of Aos Si. The lands seemes to have gifted him a great amount of power. The most we have seen in a long time from someone so young. And he’s harnessing them well already .” “Really, now that’s interesting.” Mother replied “I suspect our girl will also have that in common with your son.. Maybe they will also form a love match.. Wouldn’t that be interesting, and for the first time in a milenna for one of Annwn and one of Dubnos to be joined in power and as a love match to rule the lands.” “Why, yes that would prove interesting indeed.” Replied Lila
