3. Atticus Regan

The atmosphere of the hospital was magnificent, one of the doctors in the hospital was about to be put to bed. She is the second in charge of the hospital, a private hospital, Tigertube General Hospital. Mira Regan has been known throughout the hospital to be a very strong woman, even before entering the labor room she was being congratulated.

"Darling, you have stayed strong till today, come out of the labor room stronger than ever, I will be waiting for you," said Phillipos Regan.

Mira Regan was in pain, she did not reply to what her husband was saying, all she wanted we as to give birth to her son safely. Her colleagues were congratulating her husband already, the situation was weird to him because it was not normal to congratulate a patient before even putting to bed.

Few hours had passed there was no sound of his wife or his child, Phillipos Regan was very worried. He could not hold himself anymore, he went to meet one of the nurses of the hospital.

"Excuse me, is this how long it takes for someone to give birth, I hope all is well in there," said Phillipos Regan.

"Sir, all is well, she is meant to have delivered but there might be some obstacles, she and your child will come out just be at rest," said the nurse.

Suddenly while he was still discussing with the nurse, he heard the sound of a baby crying from inside the labor room. Everyone who knew that it was Phillipos Regan's wife alone that was trying to give birth in the labor room started to congratulate him. After a while he was invited into the labor room, his wife and his newborn baby were safe.

"I promised to bring our son to life and I did, I will always be the strong woman everyone knows me to be," said Mira Regan.

"I love you so much Mira, you are really a strong woman, despite all the difficulties and obstacles that would have cost us our son, you still remained strong and delivered him," said Phillipos Regan.

On the seventh day after Mira giving birth to a bouncing baby boy, he was named, Phillipos and Mira came together to pick a name for their baby. They named him Atticus Regan, the naming ceremony took place in the church they attend. Atticus Regan was given numerous gifts by his parent's friends and church members. The reason behind the name was not disclosed by either of his parents.

Days became weeks, weeks transformed into months, Atticus Regan was of age to start school. His mum took leave from work in order to take good care of her son until he is due for school.

"Atticus, you have grown up really quick, today will be your first day at school, behave and take care of yourself," said Mira Regan.

"Okay mummy," said Atticus Regan.

Atticus Regan was going to school for the first time at the age of five. He started to attend Ostro General Schools, the best government school in their neighborhood. Phillipos Regan and his family were all living in Ostro state, Datrington. Phillipos Regan is a businessman and a highly experienced investor. He monitors the stock market, buys shares in companies, and sells them for higher rates. This is what he has been using to cater for his family. After dropping Atticus in school, Mira headed to her workplace to resume her work in full and in person. She was formally working from home. On getting to the hospital where she was formerly working, she was new renovations from outside which amazed her. When she entered the hospital, she was informed that the hospital already has a new owner and the new owner reserved her opposition for her. She was eager to know the new owner of the hospital so she asked about his office and went there. She was very surprised by who she found in the office when she entered.

"Wha-What are you doing here honey?" Mira Regan asked.

"As you were told outside, this is the office of the new owner of the hospital, I own this palace now," said Phillipos Regan.

"How is that possible, you were never interested in buying this hospital," said Mira Regan.

"I was always interested in buying it, it was just you that didn't notice it," said Phillipos Regan.

"Okay, when you are not a doctor, how do you want to run a hospital?" Mira Regan asked.

"Your birthday was yesterday and I told you I will surprise you with a mega package for your birthday gift," said Phillipos Regan.

"Wait, wait, are you trying to say that you bought the hospital for me," Mira asked her husband.

"Yes, I am not running the hospital, it is you that will run it as its owner," said Phillipos Regan.

Mira was so excited, she ran close to her husband and hugged him. She was thankful for the birthday present. They shared few emotional minutes in the office before Phillipos broke the silence.

"Let's finalize this deal, sign the transfer documents and the hospital is yours," said Phillipos Regan.

She sat down in front of her husband and started to sign the documents as he instructed her to do. After transferring the hospital to his wife, Phillipos Regan left. He had different investments and shares in different top-notch companies. According to what Phillipos Regan has acquired, his children will not have to work throughout their lifetime.

Atticus Regan was narrating his childhood to his child John, his wife Harley was also listening attentively.

"My father always told me to make sure am reinvesting with any profit I get on any of his investments, he once promised me that if I monitored the stock market and be alert for companies who are ready to sell part of their shares, I will become a billionaire if I invest," said Atticus Regan.

"So that is why you are teaching me how to invest and read the stock market," John Regan asked.

"Yes my son, it might not be in my lifetime that stock market or shares will turn anyone into a billionaire, it might be in your lifetime that is why I am teaching you the same way my father taught me," said Atticus Regan.

"I will also like to learn darling," said Harley Regan.

"You would have learned if you were really interested, anyways I will let you know when there are sure and profitable shares to purchase in any organization," said Atticus Regan.

"Dinner is ready and served on the dining table," said Harley Regan.

Atticus Regan raced his son John to the dining table, when they got there Harley had prepared their favorite meal, White Rice and Vegetables Sauce. The food was irresistible to the extent that they forgot to say their prayers before starting to eat. After they all finished eating, someone came knocking on their door, it was Atticus Regan's colleagues at work.

"Hope we did not disturb your peace tonight?" said Jeremiah Beckman.

Atticus Regan already had six close friends from work, they live in the same neighborhood as him. Atticus Regan became friends with them because they all are top positioned workers like him in the bank and also they all know the usefulness of investments. Their names and post in the bank are Callum Foster; the Financial Advisor of Riverstar Bank, Jeremiah Beckman; the Financial Analyst of Riverstar Bank, Sam Morrison; the loan officer of Riverstar Bank, Jesse Brant; the Asset Manager of Riverstar Bank, Damian Ross; the Mortgage Consultant of the Riverstar Bank and Nicolas Hall; the Credit Analyst of Riverstar Bank.

"You are all welcome, why don't we go inside and discuss the reason behind your visit," said Atticus Regan.

"It is late already, it is not of good manners to visit someone at this time of the day, we just wanted to show something, immediately after that we all are going to our various houses," said Sam Morrison.

"Okay, what exactly do you want to show me," Atticus Regan asked.

"There is a company that surfaced in the stock market, they are willing to sell seventy percent of their shares to any interested parties, their dividend payment is quarterly, as usual, we are ready to invest in them that is why we came here to meet you so we will know if you are also interested," said Callum Foster.

Atticus Regan then checked out the company's stock his friends were showing him on a tablet. He promised to get back to them on it when they resume work on Monday. While looking at it on their tablet, he used his expertise to read its history then he saw it was not a profitable investment.

"Think about it quickly before it is too late to invest in it," said Jeremiah Beckman.

They all took few steps away from Atticus Regan's house while Atticus went inside to join his family.

"Did any of you notice the way he was looking at the stock, I doubt he will even invest in it with us" said Callum Foster.

"Jeremiah, are you sure these shares will yield mass profit in the nearest future," Nicolas Hall asked.

"I have been monitoring it and you know that is my job, I know and advice people on what and how to invest in the stock market," said Jeremiah Beckman.

"I researched on Atticus yesterday night because I sensed some fishy in him and I got very vital information about him," said Callum Foster.

"Spill it out," said Damian Ross.

"He is the son of Phillipos Regan, one of the most successful investors in the past, his investments are still yielding dividends for Atticus, what is surprising is that I do not know why such a rich man is still working as an auditor in Riverstar Bank, if Atticus does not work, the dividends money from his father's investments is enough to cater for all his needs," said Callum Foster.

"Meaning there is no need for us to force him to invest with us, he has enough money to cater for all his needs," said Damian Ross.

"That is exactly where am going to, we can dupe him of some money and share it among ourselves, he is the son of an investor, through investment we will be able to siphon cash from him," said Callum Foster.

"Why do you think evil like this, I have never seen a greedy and covetous man like you before," said Jeremiah Beckman.

While they were discussing, Harley Regan saw them and she knew something was wrong somewhere. When Atticus Regan got to the room, she started advising him about his friends, she also told him what she saw.

"If you don't want to end him like those men in the movie we watched at the cinema then discard all this your friends, they don't look like they were planning anything good for you, discard them before they cause any harm to you or your family," said Harley Regan.

"I will work on it, you know I always listen to you but these people you are talking about are my colleagues from work, not my friends, what they even came for was about work nothing else," said Atticus Regan.

"A word is enough for the wise, don't cry to me if they put you in trouble at work," said Harley Regan.

After their discussion, Atticus fell asleep but Harley could not sleep, she was worried about her husband. She had a bad feeling about the many friends he has from work. After a while, she also fell asleep. When they woke up the next day, Saturday morning, none of John Regan's parents were going to go to work. Harley resumed the discussion from where she stopped yesterday before Atticus fell asleep. John heard what his mum was telling his wife and he revealed that he had a bad dream yesternight. He told his parents that in the dream they were robbed by six men and they killed them and stole all their money and valuables. He said when they were about to shoot him with their gun, he escaped.

"That was a bad dream John, don't worry none of it will happen, mummy and daddy will always be with you," said Harley Regan. She hugged her son and kissed him on his head.

"I love you so much mum and dad, please don't ever leave me alone," said John Regan.

"We will never leave you alone, we love you so much also" his father replied.

After a while, John went to play with his toy, Harley then begged her husband to be careful with the friends he has. He then promised her that he will keep a distance between them.
