CHAPTER 16 (CILLIAN'S POV)

A lot of things happened for the past few days.

I thought the woman I started to like wasn't interested in men. But what I am watching now is her... dancing with a known politician.

Kasalukuyan akong nandito sa anniversary party ng kumpanya ni Frederick, one of my business partner. A lot of business tycoons and artists were invited here.

I didn't plan to come here but Fred insisted that I should come and meet some of his new investors.

Nainip ako kanina sa paghihintay kaya lumabas ako at pumunta sa medyo madilim na parte nitong kumpanya.

I took my cigarette out and my mini lighter. Naghithit-buga ako ng ilang beses at sumandal sa pader. This kind of party bores me a lot, I rather be in a car racing circuit than here socializing with people I don't know.

I am car racer, it's my hobby. That race last time was very tight and it was pretty dangerous.

Eugene and his team almost killed one of my men because they lost the match. Good thing I was there and I was able to put them on their place.

Mas gusto ko pang makipag-barilan kesa makipag-sosyalan sa loob.

Habang naninigarilyo ay nakarinig ako ng kalabog at napatingin sa gilid ko nang makitang bumukas ang salaming pintuan at lumabas doon si Azekyne. The woman who caught my attention and made my body hot.

She's sobbing while walking back and fourth. She look around, maybe to see if there's someone here so I quickly hide in the dark.

She's crying and I don't know why I suddenly want to give her a hug. My heart clenches because of her loud sobs.

Mas lumakas ang iyak niya at napatakip pa siya ng mukha, I didn't know that she's here too that's why I'm quite shock, especially that she looks devastated.

Why is she crying though?

Nang hindi ko na matiis ang pag-iyak niya ay lumabas na ako mula sa dilim at bumalik sa dati kong pwesto.

Pinasok ko ang isa kong kamay sa bulsa ng slacks ko at kinuyom iyon doon. Binilisan ko ang paghithit-buga ko sa sigarilyo ko hanggang sa lumingon na siya sa direksyon ko at nakita na nga ako.

She looked so shock. And I'm already expecting it.

I lied when I told her that I just got there and I didn't saw her crying for minutes.

I tried comforting her with words but I'm not really good at it. I grabbed her instead and wipe her tears, it's been only a week since I met her but...I grew fond of her.

I looked at her lips and cursed inside.

F*ck! It's tempting!

But instead of doing something that will surely shock her, I took her inside and started watching all her moves.

She's with her family, and this guy...

Nakaramdam ako ng galit sa loob loob ko habang pinapanood silang sumasayaw. I'm jealous, I cannot deny it!

Her eyes landed on me and I clenched my jaw trying to stop myself from showing any emotions.

Did she and that guy have some sort of relationship?

I know this Governor. He's the most influential politician because of his family background, but I hate how arrogant their family is.

I've met them once, and didn't like their vibe.

I looked away when I saw him landed a kiss on her cheek.

F*ck! I'm going crazy. Napainom nalang ulit ako ng alak sa basong hawak ko at nakipag-usap na sa mga pinakilala sa akin ni Frederick.

Hindi ko na ulit siya tinapunan ng tingin pagtapos no'n.

I had her investigated but I think I missed something. I thought all this time that she's single but I guess I'm wrong.

"Fred, I'm going. My son is waiting for me, thanks for inviting me to your company."

"No, I should be the one thanking you. Thank you for coming, Mr. Montecarda, it's such a pleasure having you here!"

Tinapik ko nalang siya sa balikat at lumabas na ng kumpanya. Wala akong dinalang mga tauhan at mag-isa lang na pumunta rito. Lahat sila ay nasa mansion ngayon nakatoka para bantayan ang paligid, wala ako ro'n kaya mahigpit ang seguridad.

I was about to enter my car when I saw Azekyne walking unconsciously outside, wala siya sa sarili habang naglalakad kaya agad akong napatingin sa humaharurot na sasakyan papunta sa direksyon niya.

She was about to get hit.

I ran as fast as I could and pushed her body on the side, I rolled my body over so she would not fall into the grass with a lot of sharp stone.

Tinignan ko ang muntikan nang bumangga sakanya at imbis na huminto ito para tignan kung ayos lang ba ang muntik na niyang mabangga pero dumire-diretso lang ito ng takbo.

Nandilim ang paningin ko at napatunog ko pa ang ngipin ko sa galit.

I shouted at her when she get up because she's so stupid. How can she stop in the middle of the road while a car is running fast towards her?

Papatayin ba niya ang sarili niya?

That night changes everything.

Instead of telling myself to stop desiring her since she looks in a relationship, I told her that I will communicate with her even though I still don't know her number.

Mas lumalim pa ang paghanga ko sakanya kahit gano'n ang nangyari.

I also made sure to hunt whoever is on that car because I want to teach somebody a lesson.

I asked my men to find that car as soon as possible, halughugin man nila ang buong Pilipinas, basta hanapin nila kung sino ang tarantadong 'yon.

Kinabukasan ay ni-report naman agad sa akin ni Zuro na nahanap na nila ito at dinala na nila sa aming headquarters. That's why instead of going straight to the company, pumunta muna ako ng headquarters para turuan ito ng leksyon.

He's a man, in his late 30s. I thought I'm gonna hear some sorry or he will beg me to spare him but it's the opposite.

He really intended to hit Azekyne and kill her. That makes me think why and what does Ms. Varmona had to do with him but he didn't answer.

I ran out of patience that's why I pulled Zuro's gun out of his waist and kill this fuckin' asshole infront of me.

I shot his head and his blood were all over my suit.

"Give me an extra suit, Zuro. Now."

Agad naman siyang kumuha ng panibagong suit at binigay ito sa akin. Walang emosyon kong tinignan ang lalakeng nasa harap ko at napailing-iling nalang. I am not the type of guy who will waste time just to get answers from these kind of people.

If he's not going to reveal the reason why he wanted to kill that woman, then he's better be dead.

I will protect Azekyne from now on, dadaan muna sa akin ang mga magtatangka sa buhay niya.

"Vincent, alamin mo kung may mga nakaaway ba si Ms. Varmona. Dig deep, give me all their informations," utos ko sakanya.

"Sure."

Pumasok na ako sa nagsisilbing opisina ko rito sa headquarters at nagpalit ng suot. I also spray a lot of perfume because the smell of his blood were reeking.

Lumabas na ako at nakitang malinis na ang lugar kung saan ko binaril ang lalakeng 'yon kanina. My men was fast and I like it.

Sumakay na ako sa kotse ko at nagmaneho na papunta sa aking kumpanya. I still have conference meeting and I'm already 10 minutes late.

When I got there, all my employees greeted me with a fake smile. Alam kong lahat sila ay takot sa akin dahil masiyado akong strikto at kaunting pagkakamali lang dito ay tanggal ka na.

"Goodmorning, sir!"

Halos sabay sabay pa silang bumati at yumuko. I didn't bother to greet back since my mood was already ruined.

Sumakay na ako sa elevator na para lang sa akin at pinindot na ang pinaka-last floor kung nasaan ang opisina ko.

MCU Hotel Group of Companies. We are handling some huge 5-star hotels all over the country and we also have hotels in Dubai, Hongkong, Singapore and South Korea. I own a fashion and design company that is located in Singapore, it's my sister's dream company.

I built that one to honor her, kahit wala akong ka-amor amor sa gano'ng klase ng negosyo.

We are also the number 1 richest company here, some people thought that it was the Moroco Empire, but they're wrong. Pumapangalawa lang sila sa akin at sobrang layo pa nga ng agwat.

We're just being humble.

"Kumpleto na ba sila?" Tanong ko sa secretary ko pagpasok.

"Yes, sir."

Pinagbuksan na niya ako ng pinto kaya pumasok na ako sa loob ng conference room. I saw all of them looking so bored but when they saw me entered, their faces quickly changed. Tumayo silang lahat at yumuko bilang pagbati sa akin.

"Sit down, " I told them.

Nagsimula na ang meeting namin kaya tutok na tutok ako sa nagsasalita dahil tungkol sa isang malaking proyekto ang aming pag-uusapan.

Hanggang sa matapos kami ro'n at sunod naming pinag-usapan ang tungkol sa isang model na inalis ko rito sa kumpanya dahil sa unprofessionalism sa trabaho at sa pagpasok nalang ng basta basta sa opisina ko.

She was the face of my company but I fired her, that's why we're looking for another model.

Azekyne's beautiful face popped up on my mind and that's when I came up with an idea to choose her.

"Contact Azekyne Elleanor Varmona's manager. I want her to be our model," utas ko.

Nagulat silang lahat at napatingin sa akin nang sabihin ko iyon.

This is the first time that I recommended a model because I always let them choose who to pick. Now that I gave them a name, for sure they will do everything to make her accept our offer. Alam nilang minsan lang ako magsabi nang kung anong gusto kong gawin sa kumpanya.

Kaya alam din nilang kailangang masunod iyon kahit ano mang mangyari.

Natapos na ang aming meeting kaya lumabas na ako ng conference room at pumunta na sa aking opisina. I started with all the paperworks and after that, I also had a meeting with one of my business partners.

It was a very busy Monday and I end up skipping lunch because of these hectic schedule.

"Sir, you have a visitor."

Tinignan ko ang secretary ko at nakitang kinakabahan siya habang nakasilip sa pintuan ko dahil siguro wala sa schedule ko ang magkaroon ng bisita ngayong araw.

"Who?" I asked him.

"Ms. Sulli-"

"Don't let her in," putol ko sakanya.

Sulli is one of those obsessed women who keeps on lingering around me. I had a one night stand with her and I tried to make it last for a week because she's good but after that, she became so annoyingly obsessed.

"Block her from entering my company, this will gonna be her last warning. Next time she barged in here, I'll throw her out myself."

Tumango ito at sinara na ang pintuan ng opisina ko. Una pa lang naman ay sinasabi ko na sakanila na hindi ako nagse-seryoso ng mga babae. Unless if I'm really into that person, a one night stand is just purely for fun. Maswerte siya at pinagbigyan ko pa siya hanggang isang linggo.

It's her fault that she expect so much from me. I even gave her a car just to make her stop because I know she's after my money but that b*tch, she's too greedy.

Tinanggal ko ang salamin na suot ko at napahilot nalang sa sintido. Pinaka-ayoko talaga ang nai-istorbo ako sa pagt-trabaho.

Sumandal ako sa upuan ko at napabuntong-hininga. Nilabas ko ang cellphone ko at tinawagan ang yaya ni Dash.

"Where is he?" Agad na tanong ko nang sagutin nito ang tawag.

"Nagbabasa po siya ng libro, sir. Kasama si Teacher Nemi."

"Did he ate his lunch?"

"Yes, sir."

"Alright, thank you."

Binaba ko na ang tawag dahil wala naman na ako ibang itatanong. I always make sure to check him from time to time because that's what parents do.

Habang hawak ang cellphone ko ay naisipan kong puntahan ang gallery ko at tignan ang ilang litrato ni Azekyne na isinend sa akin ng private investigator ko.

She looks very simple yet seducingly attractive.

I am captivated by her...

I remember sending her red roses every day because she looks like a flower to me. Too preciously beautiful...

I caress my phone like I am caressing her face.

I still don't know what should I do next. I hope it will not be too late for me to pursue her.
