Chapter 8 pt.2

Althea’s P.O.V

Tumingin ako kay Rafael at nakita ko na seryoso lang siyang naghahanap kasama ‘yung babae kanina. Ako nakaupo na lang muna sa isang upuan store. Nakakapagod din ang nakatayo ng matagal. Before nakakatagal ako 3 hours ng kaka-shopping but now, mabilis ako mapagod. It’s still a mystery to me na lahat ng nagustuhan kong gamit ay nabili na ng iba. I sighed. I diverted my attention to other things like using my phone to scroll some news on social media.

“Ralph, look at that! Wasn’t that pretty?” I heard some voice near me kaya napatigin ako. Only to be surprised, and saw Ralph with a girl wearing a revealing dress. Napataas ang kilay ko. Ganyan palang babae ang gusto ni Ralph. No wonder I’m not too fond of his vibe. I ignored them.

“It is. It’s pretty like you.” Napangisi ako. Gasgas na pick-up line ng mga lalaki mula pa noon. Jusme, I never knew this guy is like this.

“What’s so funny?” I heard the girl’s voice behind me. I turn around my head and saw the girl glaring at me. Nasa likod nung babae si Ralph at mukhang amaze sa nangyayari. I don’t know if he saw me or not. It doesn’t matter.

“Did you saw me laugh?” I asked her. She rolled her eyes and smirked.

“I heard you. And I don’t like you looking at my man,” she said. Oh please, your man? You’re not the only girl he’s dating, or more like you’re only a fling. Tumayo ako. Nakita ko ang gulat sa mukha ni Ralph. Ah! So, he didn’t saw me earlier.

“Look, I don’t care about your man, for I am already a married woman. My husband is much more handsome than that guy who is behind you,” I said and sighed. I saw Ralph’s jaw clenched. Did I wound his ego? Well, I don’t care. The girl glared at me.

“You b*tch! Ralph is handsome, and you’re just jealous of me!! She screamed like a banshee! Tinakpan ko ang tenga ko! Tae! Nakalunok ba siya ng megaphone!

“I told you, kahit ilaklak mo pa ‘yang lalaking yan sa baga mo, wala akong pakielam! Can you leave me alone? You’re disrupting the business of this store,” Umupo ako ulit sa inuupuan ko at hindi ko na siya pinansin. I heard a grunt behind me, and then I felt someone held my hair tightly. F*ck this b*tch! I am not in the mood for this!

“Let me go!” what is wrong this with woman!

“Georgia, let her go!” I heard Ralph’s voice. Binitiwan kaagad ako ng babae at agad kong inayos ang buhok ko. Tinignan ko si Ralph at sinaman siya ng tingin.

“Dapat kanina mo pa ‘yan ginawa,” inis na sabi ko. Nakita kong napabuntong hininga si Ralph.

“I am sorry about this, Althea. But why are you here?” he asked. I rolled my eyes. Nakita ko ang masamang tingin ng babae samin.

“You knew each other? Don’t tell me Ralph na isa siya sa mga babae mo!” Halos magiskandalo na siya sa loob ng store. Tinignan ko ang paligid at hinanap si Rafael pero hindi ko siya makita. Where is Rafael when you need him?

“Eww, no!” Agad na react ko. Narinig ko na natawa si Ralph.

“You really hate the idea of me dating you?” he asked. I rolled my eyes. If I want to date someone, I clearly don’t want to date a playboy! Kahit na gwapo siya!

“Because I will never date someone like you!” I said. Naramdaman ko na may humawak sa bewang ko.

“Very well said,” I heard someone talked behind me. I turned around and saw Rafael with a smile on his face. I rolled my eyes.

“You’re late,” Sabi ko at lumapit sa kaniya. I looked at the girl and saw her gawking at Rafael. Now you know when I said my husband is handsome than Ralph.

“Yo-You’re this w-woman’s husband?” She asked. I looked at Rafael, and he looked at me.

“Yes, I am. Is there a problem?” Rafael asked as he put his arm around my waist. Then I was surprised when he held my right hand and kissed the back of my hand. Sheesh! I felt my cheeks burn! Bwisit ka, Rafael! Warningan mo muna ako!

“You could have chosen someone who is much more beautiful than her! Someone- someone like me,” she said flirtily and flaunted her breast. I smiled. Girl, you’ll never get Rafael that way. Rafael likes a woman who’s like a flower. I saw Rafael looked at the girl with contempt.

“Someone like you is not my type. And also, I have a wife. I’m not particularly eager to meddle with my friend’s girlfriend,” Rafael said and looked at Ralph, who is just looking at us with a smile on his face.

“She’s not my girlfriend or anything,” Ralph said. I rolled my eyes. Parang kanina hindi siya nag pick-up line sa kaniya. I shook my head, and I don’t want to hear any of this.

“I am tired,” sabi ko at tinignan si Rafael. Tumingin siya sakin. I saw him frowned.

“Let’s go. Tapos na akong bumili ng mga gamit,” sabi niya. Rafael looked at his friend first before escorting me out of to store. I give a side glance at Ralph. He seems so amused at what he saw. I ignored him again and walked along side with Rafael.

Ralph’s P.O.V

The first time I saw Althea, she looks like a woman who is like a lamb. The kind of woman Rafael likes. But I never knew this woman is fierce. And I like that kind of woman. Too bad that Rafael got her before I did. But when she told me the reason why she married Rafael, it got me thinking. Rafael tends to fall in love with a weak woman like a flower and kind as a lamb. It wouldn’t be long if he met someone like that woman. Althea and the child will be left alone. She’s strong, but still, she’s a woman with a child.

“Hey, Ralph! What are you thinking, man?” I heard a friend asked me. I smiled at just lift the glass I am holding towards him.

“Thinking while drinking,” I said. He smirked.

“I heard you ended things up with Georgia. She’s one hella catch,” he said. I shook my head and drank the alcohol on my glass.

“She’s getting on my nerves. Besides, I wouldn’t say I like Georgia. She started to flirt with a friend of mine with a wife. That kind of woman I don’t want to associate with,” I said. He laughs so hard.

“But all the woman you had is a cheater. Georgia is no different from them.” He poured a glass of alcohol on his glass and drank it. “Did your standard go up again?”

I smirked. I thought of Althea again. “I wouldn’t say that my standard goes up again. I’d say… I have a change of heart,”

“Woah! That is a big word I heard from you,” he said. I smiled and drank all the contents inside my glass.
