After a few days of reading Layon finally finish the “Book of Knowledge,” he closes the book and stretch.
“Ahh I finally finish it I should ask the teacher about things I don’t understand when he woke up, but he's been sleeping for days now when does he going to wake up? I guess his really tired because of what I ask, I should be good to him and study hard to impress him”
Layon rests for a while and reads the book again to understand it better after a few more days the old man finally woke up when Layon notices the old man standing up he quickly approaches him and said.
“Teacher you finally awake! you have been sleeping for so long I thought something happens to you, are you okay? Did you get hurt?”
The old man looks annoyed with Layon's sudden questioning but inside he is very happy.
‘How long has it been when someone asks me this kind of question? This is not a bad feeling, maybe it’s okay to have this kind of feeling once in a while’
“Shut up Kid! I just woke up you making me dizzy!”
Layon shut his mouth but he's still smiling happily towards the old man, he is already used to the old man’s grumpy personality; the old man ignores him and walks towards the exit of the cave.
“Stay here I’m going to clean myself and changed these dirty clothes first after that was going to discuss what you learned in that book, I gave you”
Layon nod enthusiasm and answer.
“OK! Teacher be quick I have many questions to ask you!”
“The old man didn’t answer and just walk away, after a while the old man came back with the same clothes but cleaner, Layon saw the old man walking in and smile.
“Teacher you’re back! But don’t you have a different kind of clothes? Are your clothes all the same?”
The teacher looks at Layon with annoyance and answers.
“Stupid kid! why do you care about my clothing, and also why would I waste my time choosing which clothes I wear, my time is too precious for that kind of useless thing”
“Hahaha that’s so like you teacher”
The old man finally notices something different about Layon and ask.
“What’s wrong with you? why are you full of a smile today you even laugh”
Layon smile again.
“I’m just very thankful and happy that you’re my teacher”
The old man frowns and thought to himself.
‘What wrong with this kid? Maybe this is his true personality and it just got buried with loneliness and hardship? well anything is fine as long as he listens to me and works hard’
“Stop spouting nonsense and tell me everything you learned from the book!”
“Yes!”
The old man and Layon sit down on a stone while facing each other, after that the old man starts asking questions about the book to Layon.
“Ok kid, what are the main elements of this world?”
Layon answer without even thinking.
“Ahh I know It’s Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Dark, and Light, but Teacher is that really all the elements?”
The old man becomes interested in Layon's question and asks.
“Why did you ask that?”
“Uhm… because it said main elements aren’t there’s more, like elements that aren’t the main element?
“That’s a good observation kid you’re learning, the elements you calling not main elements are called sub-elements but for now we're not going to talk about that let’s just focus on the content of the book I gave you”
Layon smile at his teacher’s compliment, while Layon is happy the old man speaks and asks the next question.
“Stop smiling and focus, this is my next question what is the elemental affinity?”
“when the person was born, they have at least one element that is most suited to them, and as the person grows, he absorbs this element from surrounding little by little to his body subconsciously, until it became strong enough to form a core to his body and this phenomenon called elemental affinity”
The old man nods a little while listening to Layon.
“But teacher how would I know what kind of element I have?”
“When you form your core, the system will tell you your elemental affinity, but most of the time your elements will depend on what kind of elements your parents have, and only a small chance that you will have a different element to them”
Layon stops and becomes gloomy and speaks with a low voice.
“But I don’t know my real parents”
The old man saw Layon become sad and realize something.
‘ahh yeah I forgot this kid was adopted’
“Don’t be too sad kid you will find out your element soon, a yeah how old are you?
Layon looks at the old man and smiles again, and before he answers the old man he counts on his finger.
“Uhm… if I am correct, I’m 13 right now, but I’m not really sure because I don’t know when is my real
birthday, may I ask why do you want to know?”
The old man is a little shocked.
“I thought you’re only 10, you’re too short for your age kid, I ask your age to know how long before you can have your core, well because commonly when you reach the age of 15 your elements will be strong enough to form a core so a lot of people call it the coming of age, it is also the time when you will receive your own system, so at max you just need 3 years before you can have your core.
Layon's face has a look of understanding but also some confusion.
“Uhm teacher what is this system you mention? and also what can you do with the core?”
The old man is a bit confused.
“what do you mean what is the system and what can you do with the core isn’t that in the book it’s basic knowledge so it should be there?”
“Ahh you see teacher I think the “Book of Knowledge” is missing some pages, I want to ask you about it but you’re sleeping so...”
The old man becomes a surprise.
“What!! Let me see the book!”
Layon hands the book to the old man, when the old man checks the book he sighs, when Layon saw this he hesitantly asks.
“Is this book very important teacher”
“It’s not really important but it’s one of my precious collection sighs…, but let’s continue”
The old man closes the book with regrets, then he starts explaining to Layon about the system and the users of the core.
“I will explain the used of the core first so listen, when you form your core you have the right to become an Aura user, because all the Aura essence you absorb will going inside of your core and will be converted as your elemental affinity and after that, it will become your Aura power, and when you reach a threshold your core will expand and you will be able to absorb more Aura and can become more powerful, so if you want to become an Aura user a core is necessary to do you understand?”
Layon nodded without talking and become excited.
“Okay next is the system, after forming your core it means you have the right to become an Aura user and also the right to communicate with the world, and the system is the way of the world to communicate with people. The system calls this people user, and also the world will use the system to give the user different kind of quest, in exchange the system will assist the user and give them rewards if the user completes the quest”
Layon is amazed that the world can communicate with people, but also a bit confused he didn’t fully understand it, when Layon is still deep in his thought the old man interrupts him and said.
“Don’t worry, it’s okay if you don’t fully understand it, no one in this world can say confidently that he fully understands the world or even the system, for now, basic is enough, let’s stop talking about that and get back at our topic of elements, this is my next question what is the characteristic of the main elements”
Layon nodded and stop thinking about the system and answer the old man.
“The six main elements have their own characteristics, Fire Element characteristic is “Strong Offensive Power”, Water Element is balanced, it has “Good Offense, Defense, and Support”, Earth Element is known for being sturdy it has the “Best Defense” among all elements, Wind Elements while lacking in defense it’s “Speed” can cover for it, Dark Element is a “Mixture of Offense and Speed”, while it can’t match with the offensive power of fire and speed of wind it’s “debuffs” is what the most frightening about this element, while Light Element is lacking for offense and speed but it has a “Good Defense” and best for providing “Support”."
The old man nodded with approval.
“Very good I think that’s enough for elements, next we should discuss the Aura and it’s used”
