She is Gentle but Definitely Not Stupid

" Just pack your things and leave. I don't want you any more. When you give birth to the baby in your womb, give him or her your father's name. And don't think I will allow you to go with Kelly, my daughter. She is mine. You can keep the one coming that I haven't met." Ken shouted at his wife..... "Believe me Ken, I am truly sorry. I did not know what came over me. The girl said awful things to me and I just couldn't take it anymore. That was why I said those things to her. I didn't really mean it. I'm so sorry my love. It won't ever, ever happen again", Ogeh, Ken's wife pleaded, while kneeling and crying. "Save your crocodile tears, it won't work on me this time. You are too stubborn, stupid and too possessive. I've had enough. Just go," Ken responded. He asked her to go out and Ogeh went outside to prevent him from making a scene in their compound but refused to pack her load out of the house. She stayed outside till 11pm, before Ken opened the door for her to come in, which was after much begging and crying from Kelly, their 10years old daughter. She went in, said thank you, to which he didn't respond. She took a bath, prayed with her daughter and went to sleep in her daughter's room. History and what happened before.... Ken and Ogeh Safure had been married for 5 years before they gave birth to a girl they named, Kelly Ufuoma Safure. The couple were so in love and did things together. Though her father did not support her marrying Ken, he had to accept because it was the wish of his only daughter. They cut off from anyone who tried to talk about their delay in having babies. They went from one hospital to the other for solution but they were told just one thing, nothing is wrong with both of them and will soon have children. When Ogeh discovered she was pregnant, it was a joyous occasion and the arrival of the baby girl was greeted with a big celebration. The proud grandpa did not leave any stone unturned in celebrating his grand daughter's arrival. When the girl after awhile, Ken started misbehaving. He stopped seeing anything good in whatever Ogeh does. He shouts at her at the tiniest provocation. He scolds her for every mistake and blame her for everything that happens. Ogeh's father advised her again, to leave Ken, but she refused. One day, a friend of Ken came visiting and Ogeh heard them say that, Ken should not be tied to one woman as variety is the spice of life. She asked her husband later what they meant by that and he said it wasn't her business. Since then, he started going out anytime he like. He will come back late, eat and go straight to bed. Ogeh asked her husband several times what her offense was, why he changed towards her, and all he could say was, "nothing". His attitude became worse when her father died. She had no one to talk to because she was f*******n not to interact with anyone, especially in their estate. She was stopped from going to the office and was confined to the house. Later, she begged that at least a shop should be opened for her so that she will not die of boredom, to which he eventually agreed to. When Kelly clocked 10, Ogeh discovered she was pregnant again. She was very happy, thinking her husband will love her back now that another baby is on the way..but the situation got worse. She later noticed that a particular number saved as Abi mechanic, usually call her husband but she never got to hear their conversation as Ken always move away from her to receive the call. One night, she was fed up with Ken's secrecy and she asked her husband why he goes outside to take a call from his mechanic. He told her to mind her own business and he can receive or make call anywhere he likes. And things continued like that......... A week before the quarrel...... Ken was in the bathroom when his phone rang. Thinking it was really the mechanic since Ken's car's brake failed the previous day, Ogeh picked up the phone to answer and she heard...... "Hello, baby, when are you coming? I have prepared food for you, so don't eat your madam's food before coming. Besides, the appetizer today will be different. ( chuckled )...Hello, as you are not responding, is that stupid woman there with you?. I hope she won't tie you down again. Honey?....Hello.. Hello. What is happening? could it be network? Dear? ....... Let me call again." Ogeh was shocked and couldn't utter a word. She dropped the phone and sat on the bed, shaking...... Her daughter, Kelly, came into the room and saw her mother shedding tears.. Kelly: Mama, what's wrong with you? What got into your eyes? Or your stomach is paining you? Tell me now....( She hugged her mother and used her blouse to pat dry her tears) Should I get you vitamins? what happened? tell me..... Ogeh: I'm okay darling. Something got inside my eyes. Blow air into my eyes...( Kelly blew air in her mother's eyes and they both laughed)...see, my magician....you made my eyes better again. I love you my baby Kelly: I love you, Mama. And remember, I am Kelly, the magician. Nothing can hurt you when you're with me. Just call unto anytime you are in pain and voila!!!! I will appear with my magical wand and wave it in the air like this.....( she made the sound of something moving in the air...swiichh..) This really made Ogeh laugh and she forgot about her pain momentarily... Kelly took the story book she came to take from the room before and left the room, singing as she was leaving.. Ogeh sat back on the bed and smiled, thinking about her daughter, forgetting the call for the moment........Soon after, Ken rushed in from the bathroom......
