REINA'S POV
I sat placed a cup of coffee before Marco who was looking around my apartment in awe. “You don't have to act so surprised that I'm living here. I might earn a lot, but people have expenses.” I said while sitting opposite him.
Of course I did have expenses, although I've paid up most of my debts, I couldn't live lavishly just yet.
“I'm not surprised you're living here. It's just my first time in an apartment.” He said rather honestly as he stared at the tea in from of him. “So have you thought about my offer? It's going to be for two years and then we can go our seprate ways.”
“You can easily get any woman out there, but why me?” I asked him with a frown.
“Exactly why I want you.” I raised my brow. “Everyone out there either wants me for my money even that, it's not everyone who questions my order which makes me even more interested in you. I'll give you the life you want, you can keep on working at the club if you want.”
I didn't say a word and just stared back at him. Do he was interested in me because I questioned his order? Does he have a missing screw or something? Why would I follow everything you say, even though it might land me into trouble like Theodore who was literally trying to kidnap me right now.
“Do you know no one would even want me to serve them if you're my “husband”?” I air quoted the words and I could see the satisfied smirk on his face as I said that.
“Then serve only me. I'll pay you four times the normal services.” He smiled brightly and for a second, I forgot he was the Marco Savino. My heart fluttered slightly which was a weird sensation for me to feel. “Also, you know Theodore isn't joking if he sends in of of his best squads to get you.”
“And you just asked your man to kill them, won't that start a war?” I asked, quite worried because the war between two families would have a lot of casualties.
“He was trying to take what's mine which is against the rules set by each family.”
“You don't own me.”
“I never said I did.” He replied while shrugging at the same time. “So what do you say, Reina? Will you be my bride?”
I gritted my teeth as he handed me the contract he had given me earlier. He rested his chin against his knuckles as he looked at me with so much interest and I just picked up the pen and signed in the box which my name was meant to be. “What if I never questioned your orders and just did as you wanted when I came?” I raised a brow.
“I'd still choose you. Do you know how pretty you are?” He teased and my ears instantly became hot but I tried to hide being flustered. What was wrong with me?
“Your sweet talks won't work on me…”
“But it is.” He stood up while leaning towards me. “You're cute, really cute.”
“The contract doesn't agree to what you're doing now.” I said as his face came an inch closer to mine.
“It only says no s*x unless you want it.” He reminded me and I could feel my heart pounding against my ribcage. “So what do you want to do first?”
“D-do first?”
“Well, I'll introduce you to my men. So dress up and let's go.” He said and suddenly, he placed his lips against mine and then pulled away.
M-my first kiss? He just freaking took my first kiss. My entire face flushed red as I sprang up, pushing him out of my apartment. “Wait there, I'll come out when done.” I said with my face still flushed. Why on earth would he just suddenly kiss me like that?
And just like that, I was seated next to him in the car as he drove towards his mansion. For the first time, I was gripped with fear since it was my first time visiting the higher part of his territory where his main building was. I would be surrounded by a bunch of people who could easily kill me if I did anything wrong. Just thinking about it made me feel chills.
He seemed awfully quiet as we drove towards our destination. I turned to look at him and his eyes was closed like he was asleep with his arms folded across his chest.
He looked so soft and peaceful as he remained in that position and I didn't know when my hand reached out to brush his jet black hair. “I guess you're starting to fall in love with me.” He said with a smile and a squealed as I quickly pulled my hand away but he grabbed it midway and pulled my closer to himself. “You're my wife, you should start acting like it, Mrs Savino.”
“I'm starting to regret that decision.” I mumbled while trying to pull away from him but he wrapped his arms around my waist while leaning against my shoulder.
What was wrong with him? Was this Marco Savino the same man they rumored could kill anyone for just touching him? He was being all clingy right now and was the opposite of his supposed reputation.
“I literally just met you and you're acting like you've known me for ages.” I said, loud enough for only him to hear me.
“Of course, I've known you since you were a kid.” I said and I turned to look at him with a raised brow. “I saw you for the first time when you and your parents came to the annual gala. You hid behind your mother all the while and I found you quite amusing. And to be honest, I've been watching you since you started working for me.”
“That's creepy.” I said, feeling chills. I've always been watched without even knowing it.
I don't even remember ever seeing him but I did remember the only party I had gone with my father and mother. Father yelled at me after for being all shy and not mingling with other kids in order to get him business deals.
Thinking about that day made me angry all the time because my mother tried to plead on my behalf but she got all beat up because of me being antisocial. That was the time I decide to be tough and bold, so my father wouldn't be at my mother just because of me. And to protect myself from the outside world.
“We're here.” His calm voice made me snap out of my daze and I realized when had just drove into his huge mansion.
I could see the house proudly sitting there. It had a very large surrounding with green grass and on another side, I could see a large parking space that spread to a distance.
The car stopped in front of the mansion and by the time I got out of the car, the place our car just drove by was already filled wi
th hundreds of men which scared me as hell.
“Welcome home, Mrs Savino.”
