Lucian Orion pov
My fellow vampires, I have called you all here today for a matter of utmost importance. War is on the horizon, and we must be prepared to emerge victorious. The werewolves may believe they can dominate us, but we are the apex predators. We do not bow to anyone, and we will not be tamed.
Liam Trevor, the so-called alpha of alphas, has brought trouble to Phantom Haven. But I promise you, my fellow vampires, I will not rest until his heart is in my hands and his life is ended. The room erupted with a chorus of enthusiastic "yesssssss," and I relished the feeling of power it gave me.
As I gazed out over the city from the balcony of my mansion, I couldn't help but overhear the whispers of the wind and the wails of sirens below. People were fighting and committing crimes, but I had always been viewed as the true monster. I was orphaned at a young age and have roamed the world for centuries, never finding a place of true peace.
But at this moment, as I savored a glass of scotch and surveyed the women lounging on my bed, I knew that I was feared and respected by many. I would never allow myself to be tamed or controlled by anyone. As the leader of the vampires, I would do whatever it took to protect our kind and emerge victorious in the coming war.
As I sat lost in thought, memories from my past flooded back to me like a sudden rush of water. I struggled to picture my parents and recall what had happened so many years ago. When I was born, it was clear that I was different from the others in the supernatural world, and this made me a target.
My parents were loyal werewolves who served their pack with honor. They belonged to the Blackthorn pack, the strongest pack in the land, led by Liam Trevor's father, Zeus. However, Liam took over the pack after his father's death, and that was when everything changed for me.
I despised Liam's pack with a passion because they were the cause of my parent's death. They feared me, seeing me as a threat to their existence. When my mother was pregnant with me, she underwent an examination by the seers in the Blackthorn pack. They saw me as an abomination and suggested that I be killed, as they were all too scared of what they could not explain. My parents could not bear the thought of losing their child and left the pack to protect me.
The pain of losing them still haunted me to this day. I knew that I had to make things right and avenge their deaths. I would not stop until I had brought down Liam Trevor and his entire pack, putting an end to their tyranny once and for all.
As I reflect on my past, I can't help but feel a deep sense of pain and loss. My parents were always on the run from the Blackthorn pack after leaving to protect me from their wrath. My mother was heavily pregnant with me, and despite the danger, they tried to stay as far away from the pack as possible.
However, the seers from the Blackthorn pack had a vision of my birth and claimed that I would become a killer. Alpha Zeus ordered his best wolves to track us down and bring us back, dead or alive. My parents were not fast enough, and my mother's pregnancy made it difficult to run for long periods.
I was born amidst a fierce attack by the werewolf trackers, and my Uncle Gabriel saved us. He fought valiantly against the attackers and killed them all, but our joy was short-lived. One of the werewolf trackers pierced my father's heart with an arrow, and his heart was ripped out of his chest. My mother was still recovering from my birth, and my uncle had to take me and flee the scene to keep me safe.
My mother's fate was even worse than my father's. Alpha Zeus caught up with her and ripped her throat out, claiming her heart as his trophy. The pain of losing both my parents in such a cruel manner still weighs heavily on me, and I have vowed to avenge their deaths. The Blackthorn pack will pay for what they did to my family, and I will stop at nothing to bring them to justice.
For years, my uncle and I were on the run, constantly looking over our shoulders and training hard to survive. However, no matter how much we prepared, we never truly felt safe until we met Eli, the leader of the vampire clan in South Haven. My uncle entrusted me to them, explaining that I was special and in danger, before leaving for a distant, secure location where the werewolves couldn't find us. Rumors spread that both my uncle and I had been killed by the vampires.
Despite being physically apart, my uncle continued to send letters to me whenever he could. He was the only family I had left and his words brought me comfort amid uncertainty. Meanwhile, Eli and the vampires became my new family, teaching me their ways and training me to reach my full potential. They saw my unique abilities and recognized me as someone special.
Years passed and I grew to be a weapon of destruction, feared and respected by all who knew me. The vampires became my home and Eli, my second father. He loved and protected me with his life. To me, the vampires were more than just a clan - they were my family.
As time went on, I grew more powerful, and my hybrid abilities began to surface. I could shift my transformation and even hang out with werewolves by my own will. The vampires called me a shapeshifter, while others saw me as a beast or an abomination.
One full moon, the werewolves attacked our clan at its peak. We fought with everything we had, but it wasn't enough. The werewolves picked us off one by one, and even Eli was bitten. A werewolf bite on a full moon is deadly to vampires, as they could die in mere minutes. The werewolves nearly eliminated our clan until something inside me snapped.
My full strength activated, and I felt a surge of anger and rage unlike anything before. I massacred the werewolves that day, removing their heads and spiking their hearts on my claws as I fed on them. The remaining werewolves began to retreat, and we finally had a fighting chance.
I went over to Eli as he lay on the ground that day, his fate sealed. He stared into my eyes, smiling with pride as he was glad to have fathered me and proud of the man I had become. I had started to attain my full potential, and Eli's love and guidance had helped me get there.
Eli drifted away, passing on the ring of Pesoris to me, signifying that I was the new leader of the clan. As Eli's body turned cold and lifeless, I felt a surge of rage and anger. All I wanted was to seek revenge and kill any and every werewolf in sight.
Since that day, I have been the clan master, building and strengthening my clan until it became the biggest and strongest in the world. But I could feel another war coming, and I was ready for it.
As the morning sun shone on my face, I looked ahead and sensed the approaching battle. Unlike other vampires who needed a sun ring, I was immune to the sun's rays due to my werewolf gene.
I clenched my fists and felt a primal urge to kill anyone who dared stand in my way or defied me. My power and strength had grown beyond measure, and I was ready to unleash it all in the upcoming war.
DELIA’S POV
Dinggggggg……dinggggggg….. The piercing sound of the alarm jolted me awake, but it was the throbbing pain in my head that got my attention. Groggily, I surveyed my surroundings and spotted my best friend Freya sleeping soundly beside me. As I fumbled to turn off the alarm, I couldn't help but wonder how I ended up in my room the night before. My memory was hazy, and I couldn't recall how I got there.
Just as I was trying to piece together the events of the previous night, my phone rang. It was my assistant, informing me that I had several patients to attend to, and a surgical operation scheduled for noon. I reluctantly agreed, hung up, and dragged myself out of bed. Weary and disoriented, I shuffled my way to the kitchen to brew some much-needed coffee.
I knew Freya would appreciate a cup too, so I brewed one for her as well. As I climbed back up to my room, I found Freya looking like a hot mess with her hair all over the place. But she was grateful for the coffee, and we sat down to drink it together.
As I sipped on my coffee, memories of the previous night flooded my mind. I remembered how we had been drugged and almost r***d by a group of men. It was a terrifying experience, but my mind kept drifting back to the handsome stranger who had saved us. I couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed, wondering what he must have thought of us. Would I ever see him again?
Freya noticed that I seemed lost in thought and asked me what was wrong. I explained everything that had happened, and she was devastated. She hugged me tightly, apologizing for what had happened, but I couldn't blame her. She had been there for me through thick and thin, ever since I lost my parents. We were like sisters, and I was just grateful that we had managed to escape unscathed.
As I dressed for work, I realized that I still hadn't refueled my car, so I called the gas station to come and fill it up while I hailed a cab. I sipped on another cup of coffee to keep myself alert and ready for the day ahead. Upon arriving at the office, I saw Dr. Lim again, and his strange smile made me feel uncomfortable. He asked me if we were still on for tonight, and reluctantly, I nodded my head in agreement.
After a long day of performing surgeries and running tests in the lab, I headed straight home. I started cooking dinner when Dr. Lim called me and requested my location, promising to join me at 7 pm. I was irritated by his pushiness and couldn't help but stop in my room and take a shower to calm down. Though I didn't want to go out with Dr. Lim, I had already promised him dinner and didn't want to break my word.
