Chapter 19
Wyatt’s POV
They left the park and walked hand in hand back to the cafe. “Do you want another coffee for the road, Pipes?” he asked.
“Absolutely. I have a feeling it is going to be a long night.” They walked into the cafe hand in hand and smiled at each other. Piper’s smile faltered a little when she saw it was still Layla behind the counter. Layla glanced up at them and smiled warmly at both of them.
“Alpha, Luna. Can I get you a refill on those drinks?” She asked with a smile.
“Yes, please, Layla. And I was wondering. I am still kind of new in town. Is there any way you can show me around a little tomorrow afternoon?” Piper asked. She was really looking to make a friend here.
Layla’s face lit up. “I would love that Luna. I get off work at three if you wanna meet me here in that badass Jeep of yours. We can grab a coffee and hit some shops on main street.” Layla seemed genuinely excited about the prospect.
“Sounds perfect. I can’t wait. See you tomorrow, but only if you stop calling me Luna. Call me Piper please.” Piper requested.
Layla looked at Wyatt. He smiled and replied, “If that is what the Luna wants, consider it an order, Layla.” Layla smiled even wider if that was possible. “Sorry but we have to run. It's the Luna’s first shift tonight so we have a lot to do,” he said as he grabbed the coffees and handed Piper hers.
“Oh, wow, good luck Luna, I mean Piper, I know you will do great!” Layla even rushed around the counter to give Piper a reassuring hug.
Piper smiled and hugged her back. “Thanks, Layla. I have to admit I am a little nervous. I am new to this whole world.” Wyatt steered her out of the coffee shop and left Layla smiling and waving.
“You do seem kinda nervous, so let me drive,” Wyatt said as he opened the passenger side door for her. Piper climbed in with her coffee cradled in her hands and sighed as Wyatt closed the door. He walked around the car and jumped behind the wheel. grabbing her hand, he started the engine, slapped it in gear, and took off.
It was a short ride to her parents house. Piper’s stomach was starting to fill with butterflies, and they were on crack, the way they were fluttering. She was so nervous that she was starting to get nauseous. “Piper, relax, I am here. It will be fine. The first time will hurt a little, but after that it will all be good.”
They pulled up to Pipers house and parked the Jeep. Wyatt shut it off and turned to her, wrapping her in a tight, reassuring hug. He smoothed her hair and whispered in her ear, “It’s okay Love, I am here with you, I will always be here with you. You got this, we got this together. I will be there every step of the way. Plus you will get to see Axel, it will be easier on you if I am in my wolf form.”
“Thank you for everything, Wyatt. You just met me, you don’t have to be so kind to me.”
“Piper, we are mates. I don’t have to be any certain way with you. I am just me, that is all I am being. Now let’s go eat, I am starving,” he smiled at her. They got out of the car and walked into her parents house hand in hand
