Chapter 22

Wyatt’s POV

Seeing Destiny through Axel’s eyes was an incredible experience. Her fur shone so brightly it almost gave her an aura. She stood before them with elegance and poise. She turned her head to look at Axel. “I am sorry,” was all she said.

Piper’s body began to contort again in pain. Destiny’s pain filled howls echoed through the night. They watched in horror as Destiny’s bones started to break and reshape. She stood on her hind legs, making her over 8 feet tall. Her muzzle shortened and her paws elongated into fingers again. Her claws tripled in length. Her fur shortened and became coarser. When the transformation was done, Piper stood there as a being they had never seen before. Her green eyes met Axel’s and she said, “Hello, Axel. I am Tundra, Piper’s Lycan. I am separate from Destiny, I am my own creature. The three of us can inhabit the body together, but until now, I have been unable to break free or even talk to Piper. She doesn't know of my existence.”

What does this mean for Piper? Axel asked her through mindlink.

“It means that Piper is now fully aware of all of our existences. That we can all communicate and become one with each other. And once we have fully merged we can shift into one being. But I will warn you. Destiny and I are only two of Pipers counterparts. She is more special than any of you can understand. As each day goes by she will gain a new aspect of herself. And she will need all of her parts to become whole to beat the evil that is looming on the horizon.”

What kind of danger? Axel was furious knowing someone wanted to hurt his mate.

“There is evil coming. It is an ancient society who has read the prophecy regarding Piper and they want to use her to dominate the world and change the order of everything. They want to dismantle packs and Gods and cause utter chaos with them as the rulers of the world. If they get Piper, the world as we know it will end. I must go now, I am taking too much energy from Piper. She will have questions that I hope I can answer. But now I can speak to her. Until we meet again.”

Tundra threw her head back and raised her arms. Her body was engulfed in bright light as she floated up into the air. The light flashed to blinding and everyone had to look away. When they looked back, Piper was curled up in a ball on the ground, naked and unconscious. Carla rushed over to wrap a robe around her daughter and cradle her in her arms.

“What are we going to do?” She asked.

Bennett was the first to speak. “We are going to protect and fight with our Luna. We are going to be there every step for whatever she may need. We will die to protect her without a second thought because without her, the world is toast.”

Wyatt looked at Bennett with pride. He knew that Bennett could be serious when he wanted to be and that his loyalty showed no end, but he couldn’t have foreseen such conviction from the joking playboy.

Terrence stepped forward. “We need to introduce her to the pack as soon as possible. Let them see her passion and kindness. Explain the prophecy, maybe even add in your mate bond a little. Let them think that the whole pack is part of the prophecy. The pack will be loyal to and protect its Luna.”

“I agree with Terry on this. We need to make the pack see that this is predestined and that the pack plays an intricate role in the outcome in the end,” Bennett added.

Carla had tears in her eyes as Derek wrapped his arms around her to try and comfort her. Wyatt spoke to them in a clear tone. “We are going to take her to the pack doctor to make sure she is ok. That had to have used all of her energy. We will let her rest in the hospital till she wakes. In the meantime, can you pack her things and bring them to the pack house. I am going to have a few omegas get the room next to mine ready for her. I want her close so I can protect her and let our mate bond grow. No harm will come to her, that I promise you.”

Wyatt bent down and scooped Piper up into his arms. She recognized the mate bond in her unconscious state and snuggled deeper into his arms. He carried her around the house and loaded her into the Jeep. Bennett and Terry got into the back and they headed to the pack hospital.
