Chapter 18

Chapter 18 Pipers POV After having the most incredible apple pie with Wyatt, they left with their coffees to walk around town. After his revelation in the coffee shop they kept the conversation light and funny, telling each other stories and little facts about themselves. At some point, Piper looked down to realize they were holding hands. Wyatt told her about his twin brother and sister that he practically raised. How his parents died when he was 16 in a rogue attack. Then he of course had to explain what a rogue attack was. He told her all about the twins, Kinzie and Killian, and how Kinzie is the pack doctor and about her empathy and kind nature, and how Killian is the pack hound dog, after every female he can get his hands on. About how he is at his wits end about Killian, how he doesn’t understand how he can be this way knowing he has a mate out there somewhere. Piper listened to Wyatt talk about how kind and caring his mother was. His mother was the pack doctor before she died. How Kinzie is just like his mother, even down to her brown hair and green eyes. Then how like his father Killian is. He has their fathers blue eyes and playboy personality. Wyatt suspects that Killian will be just like their father, and play around until he finds his mate, then he will only have eyes for her. It just may cause some drama down the road with his mate. They had made their way to a small secluded park bench sitting in front of a small pond. Ducks and geese were floating lazily in the slowly setting sun. Wyatt couldn’t help but stare at Piper. The sun made her hair seem like it was on fire and her eyes glowed. He leaned in and whispered, “Piper, can I kiss you?” She was surprised that he had asked. As soon as she nodded her head she felt his lips gently touch hers. Sparks of electricity raced from her lips through her body and the feeling set her on fire. She tilted her head to deepen the kiss and his response was instant. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. Her arms wrapped around his neck, she couldn’t get enough. Never has one kiss caused her to feel what she was feeling right now. Every part of her body could feel the kiss and was ablaze with love and desire for this man she just met. After what seemed like an eternity, Wyatt pulled away, making an empty feeling settle over Piper. “Wow, that was some kiss,” she said, then wanted to face palm herself for how stupid that sounded. “That is what happens when destined mates touch. It is electricity and passion and love all rolled into one.” Wyatt was smiling at her. He couldn’t believe he had a second chance mate, and that she was this amazing. Part of him didn’t think he deserved her. He looked down at his watch and said, “It’s almost seven. We should head back for dinner and get you ready.”
