Chapter 26
Piper’s POV
Kinzie walked over and turned on the T.V. and grabbed the remote. She climbed on the bed with Piper and said, “Mind if I hang out with you? Kind of a slow day and I would love to get to know my new sister better.”
Piper was a little surprised, but she said, “Sure, I would love the company.”
“So what do we wanna watch?” Kinzie asked while flipping through Netflix. One show in particular caught Piper’s eye.
“Hey, how about Supernatural?” she asked cautiously. Did werewolves watch Supernatural?
“Oh my Goddess, yes! I love me some Sam and Dean! I only get a chance to watch this once in a while. I am so in need of a good marathon. What do you want for snacks? You must be starving. I am gonna mind link an omega to bring some stuff up. Any allergies?” Kinzie rambled a mile a minute, but somehow Piper was able to keep up.
“Only known allergy is shellfish, so everything else I am game for.” Piper smiled. She was really gonna like Kinzie. She couldn’t believe that Wyatt’s sister was so accepting of her already.
Kinzie’s eyes clouded over for a few minutes then she pressed play on the T.V. “Let’s get down to business. Season one episode one here we come!”
After about twenty minutes, there was a knock at the door. “Come on in.” Kinzie called. Two young girls came into the room carrying trays.
They bowed their heads in respect and the older of the two said, “Doctor, Luna, we have brought the trays of snacks you asked for. Will there be anything else?”
“No, thank you, Sally. Go ahead and set them on the bed. Thank you so much, the Luna here hasn’t eaten in like six days so i think she might be a little hungry.”
“I can imagine. It is very nice to meet you, Luna. My name is Sally and I am the lead kitchen omega. If there is anything that you need just let me know.” Sally and the other girl bowed their heads as they left the room.
Piper looked at the trays. There was a pitcher of lemonade, a six-pack of soda, a bowl of chips, a bowl of popcorn, a large platter piled high with sandwiches, and a plate of what appeared to be fresh baked pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. “Holy crap that’s a lot of food. Is everything so formal here?” Piper asked about the omegas.
“Shifters eat like crazy. We burn off so many calories. And when it comes to the unranked members of the pack, yes it is pretty formal. Wyatt tries to get them to be less formal, but they take it to heart. It is them showing respect for everything that the ranked members do for them.”
Piper thought it over as she took a bite of a turkey club sandwich. She couldn’t stop the moan that came out of her mouth. “This sandwich is amazing. It’s like the best turkey club I have ever had in my life.” Kinzie’s eyes clouded over for a second then she smiled at Piper.
“I just linked Sally and told her. She is really excited that you love her sandwich. She is going to remember that you like them so she can start a list of the foods you like. Sally is pretty amazing like that.”
The girls ate their lunch and were glued to the T.V. for a couple hours when they heard another knock on the door. “Come in.” Piper said.
The door opened a crack and Layla poked her head in. She saw Kinzie sitting on the bed and asked, “Hi Luna, is it okay if I come in?”
Kinzie looked at Piper then back at Layla. “Come on in and join us, Layla. We are just snacking and binging Supernatural. Pull up a chair and grab a sandwich.” Piper was glad Kinzie was giving Layla a chance.
Layla pushed open the door and came in carrying a tray of coffee. “I didn’t know you would be here, Kinzie, but I brought the Alpha a coffee in case he was and he’s not, so do you want his?” Layla offered Kinzie the coffee as a peace offering.
“Oh, hell yea. Coffee stolen from my brother is the best tasting coffee in the world,” Kinzie giggled while reaching for it. Layla handed Piper her coffee and said, “I made it the same way you ordered it in the shop, Luna.”
“Thank you Layla. If we are going to be friends, which I hope we are, you need to drop the Luna stuff and just call me Piper, at least when we are hanging out.” Piper smiled.
Kinzie had a brilliant smile on her face. “Piper, you are going to make an incredible Luna. I can tell you are just what this pack needs.”
“I totally agree, Kinzie. When Wyatt first introduced you as his Luna, I was a little hesitant. I thought for sure you would be one of those snotty, power hungry she-wolves. I am so glad I was wrong.”
Layla pulled a chair over beside the bed and propped her feet up on the edge while grabbing a sandwich. She took a huge bite and said, “Let’s get down to business ladies. Who is team Sam and who is team Dean. I will fight you all for Castiel.”
