Chapter 9When I return to my office it's nearly lunch time and I'm pleased to find that the young officers have completed all the work I left for them. They've also managed to handle several enquiries and one minor traffic incident. I'm still not sure what to do about the dead livestock, or the elusive Monsieur O'Brien, so I type a brief report on the incident for the file and head out for lunch. It's such a glorious day, I decide to treat myself to a plate of mixed cold meats and a salad at the café, and when I arrive, I sit at an outside table in the sunshine.
