Chapter 15When I arrive at my office the next morning Aidan O'Brien is waiting at the door. “Well hello there, Officer Danielle,” he says. “It's a grand day, is it not?”
“Bonjour, Aidan,” I reply. “Yes it is a lovely day.”
“Are you well, Danielle?” he continues. “I hope you're keeping fine.”
“Yes, thank you,” I reply. “And you?”
“Oh yes, yes I'm grand.”
“Good,” I say and we stand and stare at each other. He seems to have run out of things to say. I can't believe I'm making small talk with this man, I hardly know him and I don't like what I do know about him. I certainly don't approve of his lifestyle.
