Chapter 18I go back to my office and spend a few minutes writing an email which I send to Perpignan. I simply state that a body has been found, give the time and place of the discovery and the name of the hunter who found it. I don't mention the injury to the head or the possible identity of the body. Those details will keep for the time being. Then I sort out some work for my colleagues to be getting on with and I head for the O'Briens' place. It is a long drive up the mountain and although I usually enjoy the beauty of the scenery, today I'm distracted. I have never before had to inform a woman that she has become a widow and I worry how she'll react. I ponder whether I should have a doctor with me, instead of Aidan O'Brien.
