Something weird happened today. I caught Sunny, the cold lady from Thunderclap smiling at me like some weirdo when she passed by in the Business building. My classmates started addressing me as Hush, not by my surname. Others were shooting me genuine and meek smiles. And I wonder why. On my way home, Misty, one of my classmates offered to come with me to the boarding house since we’re assigned in our business management class to create a business plan which was due tomorrow. I already told her that I can do it by myself but she insisted that we should make the business plan together so that it will be fair for both of us. In the end, I agreed. “Maybe, we can start anew. We don’t have to use an existing company. Let’s create our own so that it won’t really be bothersome when they started shooting us with questions because we’re the one who created the entire thing?” she suggested as she munched some pretzels I bought as snacks. I tried searching and clicked links in my laptop using the wifi of the boarding house but I failed to find a reasonable existing company that could be used in our project. “Uhm, what company could it possibly be?” I shyly asked. She clapped her hands and happily held my hand. “Let’s try a chocolate shop!” she announced like a winner from a lotto draw. “Wow, you like chocolates too?” I excitedly asked. Chocolate is my addiction, I could even eat a box full of chocolates if time would even allow me. “No, I don’t.” She crossed her arms and closed her eyes. “Then what?” I asked. “I love them!” she shouted. I laughed with her. Finally, I could see a friend in her. We were already in the middle of planning and encoding the imaginary facts we created when someone knocked on my door. I excused myself and when I opened the door, a smiling Dino came into view. “What are you…” I wasn’t able to say any word because he already pinched my nose and widely grinned. He took his slow steps, almost waltzing his way to my room. “I missed you so I’m here. Where have you b—“ he stopped when he saw that someone’s inside my room. “Uh, hi,” Misty spoke. I looked at Dino’s reaction and all I saw was his beautiful smile, and I despised seeing it. Did he like Misty that much that he smiled like a Cheshire cat? But for formalities sake, I introduced them to each other. I’m such a masochist. “Dino meet Misty. Misty, he’s Dino.” They shook hands, their smiles were both unfaltering. And I hated myself for feeling this way. How I wished, I never brought Misty with me. But I was so wrong. Why do I have to be so selfish? Why? It’s because I’m jealous and…I’m such a dim-witted girl.
