Phoenix, Arizona The Following Week After Daniel made a large cup of Earl Grey tea with some freshly squeezed lemon in the firm’s kitchen, he walked to Carl Flavor’s office near the middle of the firm. He could see from the hallway that the door to Carl’s office was wide open. “Carl, I have something to tell you,” Daniel said as he entered the office and then took a sip. Looking around, Daniel realized Carl wasn’t there even though it was well past the time attorneys would be in the office working on cases. Newer attorneys at a firm made it a point to arrive even earlier than other attorneys and stayed later to impress the partners. This was done to earn respect.
