The Following Week
Once the Zoom app opened up and Daniel joined the conference call as the host, he pushed the button admitting the various participants waiting in the virtual lobby. One by one, videos of the attorneys appeared on his computer screen making a matrix of video feeds. Some videos had blurry backgrounds. Others had backgrounds from Hollywood sets or beaches which were obviously not where the attorneys were located. Perhaps the background was a daydream of sorts. Who could blame them for wanting some form of escape with how stressful the legal career is?
“Hey, Amy. Your background is unique. What is it?” Daniel asked as he racked his brain to figure out if it was a familiar scene although it looked otherworldly.
