Chapter Thirty Eight:I refuse to act normal "Remind me again why I am doing this?" I gawk at my reflection in the mirror as Jax zips up my blue, mid-thigh velvet halter dress that she encouraged me to wear. I really need an answer because at this point, I am not so sure anymore. It almost feels like I have fallen into a habit of ignoring the voice of my usual self, the voice that would definitely help me stay away from such things. "I mean, I'm exhausted, we have assignments and I have to go home early tomorrow. Why am I even here?" she turns me around and tucks a chunk of my hair behind my ear before patting the top of my head like I have stray hairs poking upwards. "Because life without spice just isn't life!" That is not a valid reason. I did not expect her to give me one though.
