Oberoi Family
Oberoi Haveli,
Today, this haveli is being decorated very nicely.
After all, today is Rihanna Oberoi’s, that is, our (Ri) 18th birthday.
Our home's princess, everyone's darling, and the youngest of the house, the life of her three brothers, who is ready to die for her sister and can also give or take life for her.
Rihanna’s Room,
Our Ri's room is the most special among all the rooms.
You all must be wondering why?
So, the thing is, this room has been lovingly decorated by our Oberoi boys, piece by piece, with their own hands, after their sister was born.
Let's get back to the story
Ri was comfortably sleeping on her king-size bed in her room, hugging her big light-blue teddy bear, as always, without worrying about anything.
When the alarm rang at 7:00 AM in the room, Rihanna quickly got up and went to the bathroom to get ready.
Today, Ri wore a very cute light-blue kurti with black jeans and white sneakers. Her long hair flowed down her waist, slightly tied. Kajal in her eyes, leaf-style earrings in her ears, and lip balm on her lips.
When Ri came downstairs, her eyes first went to the Radha-Krishna idol in the temple, which is decorated daily with lotus flowers, and today it was decorated with roses.
Then, as Ri looked toward the hall, Tanmay and Rishabh (age 20, twins, second year MBA in Finance, nicknames – Anu and Rishu) were arguing about what gift to give Re.
Dhruv (age 25, handles the family business, eldest of the three) was watching them when Re came and directly hugged him, kissed his cheek, and said good morning.
Dhruv, smiling, wished her happy birthday as well – "Happy Birthday, my child. Tell me, princess, what gift do you want?"
After thinking a little, Ri said – "Dhruv bhai, please don’t go to the office today."
Before Dhruv could reply, Rishu said, "Ri, today brother has an important meeting with foreign clients in the office."
Ri, in a slightly sad voice, asked Dhruv – "Brother, is Rishu bhai telling the truth? Is it necessary for you to go to the office? Does that mean you don’t have time for me even today?" She pouted and sat on his lap.
Dhruv kissed her forehead, placed his hand on her cheek, and said – "Princess, the meeting is via video conference, so I’m home today, and also, today is your result day. Right, my child?"
Re happily hugged Dhruv’s chest and said – "Yes, brother. I love you the most, Dhruv bhai."
Dhruv kissed her forehead and said – "I love you too, my child."
On the sofa, the two boys sat looking helplessly at each other, and then both said together – "Nobody loves us."
When Re looked at both her brothers, they were pouting and sitting on the sofa.
So Re got up from Dhruv’s side, went to Rishu’s lap, and said – "Sorry, Rishu bhai, and sorry Anu bhai, if I hurt you, I also love you both, but a little less than Dhruv bhai."
Seeing her three brothers, Re asked – "By the way, where is Mom?"
Mrs. Meera Oberoi went to the temple and distributed some goods and money among the poor, said Tanmay.
"Mom will come in a little while," said Rishu, tapping Anu’s head lightly – "Who even says mom’s name like that?"
Re chirped – "Look, brother, mom has come."
Re ran and hugged her mother’s chest and said – "Mom, I’m very hungry, and my stomach hurts."
Meera Ji comforted her and said – "Alright, child, we’ll get food ready. And are you two not going to college?"
Rishu, seeing Meera Ji, said – "Yes, mom, but I have a headache, so I’ll leave a bit late."
Meera Ji, worried, said – "Rishu, haven’t you taken your migraine medicine?"
Rishu went near her, touched her forehead, and said – "Don’t worry, mom. It’s a little pain; I’ll be fine. You relax. I’m very hungry."
Meera Ji gave all her love and said softly – "Alright," then called Ramu Kaka – "Ramu Kaka, please get breakfast ready."
Ramu Kaka replied from the kitchen – "Yes, Meera Ji, it will be ready in a little while."
By the time Ramu Kaka arranged breakfast on the dining table,
Anu was working on his assignment on his laptop, while Rishu had already submitted his. So he leaned back on the sofa, closing his eyes.
Meanwhile, Dhruv had finished finalising his deal regarding his hotel project with foreign clients.
Our Re was in the kitchen with Meera Ji and Ramu Kaka, helping them.
Then Meera Ji called her children to eat breakfast and asked Dhruv – "Son, are you going to the office today?"
Dhruv looked at her carelessly and said – "No Mom, not today. We’ll go out for dinner tonight."
Meera Ji nodded – "As you wish."
Dhruv smiled at Rihanna and said – "We’ll also go shopping for the princess this evening, and today we’ll have lunch outside too."
Meera Ji, a little worried, said – "But son, you know the princess can’t have junk food, and she’s weak inside. Today is also the first day of her period. So, you understand what I mean."
Tanmay said – "But mom, today is Re’s birthday."
Rihanna, sitting next to Dhruv, stopped everyone and asked – "Dhruv bhai, can we invite our friends home?"
Dhruv, while eating, said – "You are not going out. Tell me why?"
Rihanna, looking at Dharm, said – "But brother, they (Sneha, Ria, Mahira, and Sherlyn bhabhi) are coming in the evening, and I promised three of them (Sneha, Ria, Mahira) that you would help us choose our college, courses, and subjects."
Dhruv smiled at her and said – "Alright, child, I can’t refuse you. You know, I’ll help."
Breakfast finished,
Dhruv said to Rihanna – "Okay, go to your room and rest."
Dhruv said to his brothers – "You two go to college."
Rishu was about to speak, but Dhruv glared at him first – "No drama, or I’ll cancel your sports bike and car arriving next week. Think about it."
Tanmay didn’t let Rishu speak and dragged him – "Brother, what’s so urgent, we are going to college."
Rishu wanted to say – "I don’t want to go; I have a headache and dizziness," but Tanmay didn’t give him a chance. Both went to college.
At college,
Tanmay and Rishu arrived and saw two boys laughing on the ground.
Tanmay spoke something to Rishu, who listened quietly, slightly irritated but said nothing.
One laughing boy blocked their way, putting his hand on Rishu’s shoulder – "Hey brother, why are you ignoring us?"
Rishu grabbed his hand and said scared – "Nishant, don’t trouble us."
Then Rishu’s phone rang; it showed ‘Riyu Baby.’ He declined the call and sent a message.
Tanmay said – "Rishu bhai, you’ll never reject Riyu bhabhi’s call."
Rishu didn’t reply and went into class.
The second boy with Nishant said – "What happened? He never stays silent."
Tanmay didn’t answer.
Nishant said – "Suven, let’s go to class, or his volcano may erupt on us."
All three went to class; Rishu sat in the second row, first bench, eyes closed.
Tanmay put his hand on Rishu’s shoulder – "Are you okay?"
Rishu opened his eyes – "Hmm…"
Then a girl came to them – "Will you go on a date with me?"
Rishu replied without looking – "Nisha, I am loyal to someone special."
Rishu’s phone rang; he smiled and answered – "I’ll talk later, I’m in class."
Ria said – "Okay, love you."
Rishu just said "Hmm" and disconnected.
Rishu said to Tanmay – "I didn’t tell at home because you didn’t let me."
Tanmay glared – "Couldn’t tell earlier. Let’s go home."
Rishu softly – "Brother, I have to bite my teeth."
Tanmay, seeing him worried – "Rishu, let’s go, I’ll also bite on your share."
Rishu sat quietly – "No."
Lectures began for three hours; afterwards, the four went to the canteen. Rishu didn’t eat; Tanmay, irritated, said – "Why glaring?"
Nishant – "Aren’t you hungry?"
Suven – "He’s used to acting picky."
Rishu got a bit dizzy, listened to Tanmay, and ate a little.
A boy said – "What’s wrong, Rishu Oberoi so calm today?"
Tanmay – "Arun, not today."
Then a girl asked Arun – "Brother, you called?"
Arun – "Arpita, where is Shalu?"
Arpita – "Shalu bhabhi went home, not feeling well."
Arun – "Arpi, we’ll go together after class, okay?"
Arpita – "Okay," and she left.
Arun said to Tanmay – "Is he observing silence today?"
Rishu replied softly – "No, third stage, migraine headache, what else?"
Arun smiled – "Wow, even useless Oberois can talk today."
Rishu – "Arun, please not today," and left.
Tanmay saw a message from Mom.
Rishu – "What happened? Is she okay?"
Tanmay lightly tapped – "She’s asking about you; let’s go home, she’ll worry."
Rishu angrily – "Because of you, I have to bite my teeth. I didn’t even want to come to college, and our sports car and bike were at risk."
Arun, surprised – "Your brothers are so rich."
Rishu glared – "Do you know Dhruv Oberoi, our eldest brother? And tomorrow’s exam paper will print."
Tanmay – "Class is over, 1:30. Eat a little, then home."
Rishu – "Let’s go quietly, I don’t feel like eating anything."
Rishu went to the parking, leaned on his car, took long breaths, unlocked it, and sat in the passenger seat.
Tanmay saw his red eyes.
Rishu leaned back, held his head.
Tanmay put his hand on Rishu’s forehead – "Fever?"
Rishu – "Feeling very uncomfortable."
Tanmay drove; 2 hours later, they reached home. (Half-hour route, but Rishu stopped many times due to nausea.)
Tanmay stopped the car, helped him out, and supported his shoulder.
Rishu felt dizzy, couldn’t control himself.
Rishu’s Room,
Tanmay saw him, helped him inside, and locked the door.
Tanmay sat him on the bed, massaged his head, but Rishu was very disoriented.
Rishu, holding his stomach, said softly – "Need to go to the washroom, feel like vomiting."
Tanmay helped him up, sat him back, gave him medicine, and barely put him to sleep.
Tanmay went to his room to freshen up.
In the Hall,
Coming downstairs, Dhruv was discussing something with Meera Ji on the phone.
Dhruv saw Tanmay – "What happened Anu? Where is Rishu?"
Tanmay, a little worried – "Rishu bhai, barely put him to sleep after medicine. Forced him to college, head down."
Dhruv – "No problem, your little mistake is mine too."
Meera Ji, worried – "Child, tears are coming from Rishu’s eyes."
By then, the doctor and the four girls arrived.
Dhruv, with calm eyes, sat on his knees near Meera Ji, wiped her tears – "Let’s go upstairs, rest later. Nothing will happen. And Rishu has to marry Riyu."
Riyu’s cheeks blushed.
Sherlyn placed her hand on Dhruv’s shoulder – "Let’s see what happened to Rishu."
Rishu’s Room,
All went to the room, and the doctor checked Rishu.
Dhruv sat on the sofa, watching Rishu.
