Chapter - 4

Year 2132, the rebellion…    I was part of the quasi-war between the rebellion and the new established chain of order by the Cyan. Most of the rebels were abnormal like me. Most of the Cyan had a single manifestation of their psyche in a well-defined and stable form, but there are some who were deemed abnormal because of instability of the mind or the lack of abilities to keep our powers in check. Even in the abnormal, a handful of the Cyan, like me, are unique. Renae, for example, does not have one but two types of manifestations. She has the power to teleport and it is more potent than any other cyan with a similar power but she also has the power to tap into the minds of others. Then, there is me with something that has no shape or form or a specific use, instead, I ended up with an ability that allows me to manifest my energy for anything I can imagine it to be able to do. The quasi-war ended with the downfall of the rebellion. Majority of the Cyan were acting for The Order, therefore, even with the help of the mortals, the rebellion was slowly overwhelmed and cornered to agree to an unfair truce. The ones who did not have the proper control were given a choice between training and serving as foot-soldiers for The Order or they can take the chance at their freedom, living as basic citizens with all their rights by renouncing their powers, never to use them again. Most of them chose to work for The Order, but there were a few who could not abandon their pride. The renounced Cyan were fitted with tracking and analytical micro devices that made sure that they were true to their word.  One of the renounced was especially reputable, chief strategist of the rebellion and according to rumors, a commander in dark that pulled the strings from shadows shaping the final outcome of this war, the psychotic peacekeeper, Quilin. With Cyan choosing their positions based on The Order, rogues from both the order and the rebels acted on their own volition in contempt. I met Renae in the capitol, in the midst of a local scuffle that took place in between the locals and the new enforcers. She was part of The Order’s inner circle before she went rogue, therefore, has enough knowledge about the methods of them to keep peace. She was trying to sabotage a few ongoing investigations about her and ended up joining the little fight outside with the locals. By pure coincidence, I was the one that started it, so that I could use it as a diversion as I sneak into the capitol. I got to admit that she was quite amusing to someone like me. We crossed paths a few more times under similar circumstances and even though we were once part of opposing sides, we paired up in good faith and mischief. Together, we started a ton of riots all over the nation, all the while escaping the enforcers on our trail. Soon, we were registered in the black-book and lost the enforcers hunt but instead had a bounty placed on our heads. The occasional hunters were annoying but every time we escaped one, our bounty increased along with the level of difficulty of survival. We found a few places that soon turned into our safe-houses, found a few more people from time to time but most of them were not even interested in The Order anymore. Out of the few that still kept hope, Jason and Kai joined us in our meaningless struggle. We also found Nina, our Tech wizard, who kept track of all our movements and also helped us keep the damage we do to a minimum. Jason and Nina soon cut themselves off from us in the field missions, instead they settled in one of the safe-houses and slowly made it our command and control center. Kai turned into a spyecruiter and went on his own way, still he sends reports of potential danger and recruits from time to time. The five of us ended up with a fairly good teamwork till he appeared again. Theo, Lieutenant General of the rogue division, found Kai’s report on an ongoing riot in aisle town. Nina’s location was compromised and Jason ended up getting caught in the raid that followed soon. Nina was able to escape and reach us safely but she was devastated about Jason and a few other recruits that we lost protecting her. To make it worse, Theo was my partner and my brother when we were in the rebellion.
