A Touch of a Kiss

Pulling into Grannies drive way I parked my car and grabbed my bag from the passenger side. This tiny two bedroom home deep in the woods was going to be my new home for now. Turning 18 was a big deal for me because I was now going to learn how to control my magic. My father sent me to live with my grandmother because he knew nothing about being a witch. My mother had passed away when I was three and Granny lived to far away to properly teach me. She had locked my magic into a necklace that I could never take off until I was 18 and ready to come live with her to learn how to control it. Getting out of the car and walking into the house I set my bag down. The house was neat and tidy, I heard a noise coming from the back of the hallway. Walking down I heard Granny mumbling, her bedroom door was cracked. I peeked in and saw her sitting on the floor with a young man. The man was sitting with his legs under him and his hands at his side. He looked to be under a trance. Grannies back was to me so I could see what she was doing. Looking back at the man. he was staring straight at me. I jumped gasping hitting the door. Granny turned around, "Jewel dear. is that you?" She asked putting her book on the dresser. "I didn't mean to disturb you Granny, I was just taken by surprise." I said while holding the door. The young man got up and that's when I noticed he didn't have a shirt on and there were deep scars across his chest. I also couldn't help noticing his very nice figure and muscular chest and arms. My heart was fluttering as my pulse started to pick up, I could feel the heat rising to my face. He cleared his throat causing me to look up at his face. I blushed harder and he smiled at me. "Jewel this is Jake, He lives here In town with family." Granny said smiling seeing our reactions to each other. Jake walked closer to me taking my hand bringing it up to his lips gently kissing above my knuckles. "It is nice to meet you Jewel, I've heard a little bit about you." He said letting go of my hand. "You as well, oh really?" I said blushing so hard. I couldn't help but notice his soft hazel eyes and genuine smile. His lips looked so soft, I thought about how it would feel to brush my lips against his. "Yes I've been coming to see Ms. Hill for a couple of months now for some headaches I get and she has been pretty excited about you moving here." "OH, I am sorry I interrupted your session." "We were pretty much done anyway Jewel dear. Jake why don't you see yourself out and stop by tomorrow evening for supper." Granny said. "Of course, see you ladies tomorrow." Jake replied giving me a smile that sent a butterfly to my stomach before leaving. As Jake left Granny cleaned up her work space. "Dear go get your bag and set it in the guest room, you can get settled while I make us some super." After getting my things put away I went to the kitchen. The table was all set for two, chili was in a bowl with a slice of corn bread in my place. I sat down and the wonderful smells hit my noise. "Mmm Granny this looks so good." "This is my famous chili dish, you'll learn to make it while your here." Granny said while pouring water into our glasses. "I can't wait to learn all of your recipes." I replied while taking a bite of the chili. There was a small spicy bite to her chili that I loved. Leaning over my dish my necklace popped out of my shirt shinning in the light. It caught Grannies eye and she smiled noticing the necklace. "We will restore your magic here soon dear, there are some thing I want to go over with you first to make sure you are ready to start your new life." "I was hoping we could do that right away." I was pretty eager to learn my magic and find out what kind of animal would be my spirit guide. "Well there are some things that we need to go over. We come from a very strong line of witches. You my dear are a very special witch." Granny smiled while picking at her corn bread. "Now finish eating and clean up dinner, we have a very long day tomorrow so I am going to go get some rest. You should do the same." Granny said picking up her dishes and putting them in the sink. While washing the dishes I could help but think of Jake and the butterflies I would get in my stomach. He is very good looking, nice smooth features, soft lips, and those hazel eyes. A warm feeling pooled between my legs as I thought about his body, I shocked my head clearing my thoughts. I had other things to think about and get ready for. Now that I am 18, I can finally gain my magic back and help fill in what feels like a missing part of my soul. Finishing the dishes I head to the bathroom to clean my self up and get into bed. I have a long journey a head of me but one I can't wait to get started.
