Someone she knew

It's been 2 months and I am in constant touch with Emma. We talk daily about how she is holding up after the wedding was cancelled. Yes, it was cancelled. 

The day before Nicolle was discharged, Kevin and his family came. They had am video. 

Media didn't want to spare any gossip about Alex, since they never saw me with a woman before. And this, me, coming out from a motel, carrying a girl, wrapped in blanket, and then I placed her in my car. That was main juice for them.

There were videos of me carrying her in my arms. The blanket covered her perfectly and I even used my coat to cover her before wrapping the blanket. But the angle video was shot, it looked like I was hugging her, and she was bare under the blanket.

Some new channel even claimed that we had an affair since the time she was in Seattle with me. We continued our relation which caused Jack to cancel the wedding. And now a day before her wedding, we were enjoying our time. Unfortunately the fire broke and we had to rush out and had no time to wear clothes. That's why Alex brought Nicolle in a blanket to cover up their affair.

"We know it's not true, but this video is everywhere and we are getting phone calls asking about Nicolle and Alex. We all know that Nicolle stayed with Alex at his home for 2 months and this is adding fuel to the fire."

Nicolle's parents tried hard to convince them, but it looks like they decided even before they went to meet them. They called off the wedding. When Nicolle came next day and got to know about this, she didn't say a word.

I pulled few strings and the channels issues public apology. Video was nowhere to be seen now. I just had to make a call. I even forced Jack to come out in open and confess that he broke because he loved someone else. Not the other way around. But the damage was done and I was responsible for it.

"How is she doing today? Did she talk?"

"No, same as yesterday. All she says is either yes or no. That's it. She no longer smiles and hasn't shed a tear since the incident."

"What's doctor saying?"

"They are saying if this goes on for long, she might loose her mind. She is already in depression and behaving this way is not helping her. I wish I could do something. I tried everything."

"Yeah, me too. How are uncle and aunt?"

"Holding up barely. When are you coming?"

"I am never coming there. I can not face Nicolle or her parents. It is I who caused this. Because of me, her name was dragged."

"Don't say rubbish. It was the person who r***d her, not you. Well this is not what I called you about. There is something I need to tell you."

"Is there a problem?"

"Yes, Nicolle,..... Nicolle is pregnant."

"What?"

"Yes, she is pregnant and we got to know about this yesterday when we went for her weekly checkup."

All I could say was "And she knows?"

"Not yet. She is like a zombie. She went to the hospital, and came out as soon as checkup was done. Dr. Sia called me later to tell about this. I will tell her tomorrow morning."

"I will talk to you later Emma, something came up. Sorry"

I disconnected the call because there was nothing I could do or say.

I don't know how I am working these days. I can't let my personnel life impact my business. It never did, but any spare thought in my mind now a days is replaced by Nicolle and what she is going through. I didn't even ask my high school crush for a date but it felt bad and Nicolle, her marriage was broken twice, physical assault and now a child. She is the strongest person I have ever seen in my life. I wish I could do something about it.

I couldn't even do anything when Kevin called off the wedding. I could have forced him to marry her, it was not hard for me. But what kind of marriage that would have been. A forced relation. I know a thing or two about forceful relations and they hurt more if you ask me. You do everything in your power to get someone's attentions and that person hates you, now that's a familiar feeling. I couldn't punish her with this fate.

Come to think of it, now that I was recalling past 2 months, I thought about the video. Something was different. How in the world media knew about this. The timing was perfect, how did they know I was going to motel, and how did they manage to shoot a video perfectly. The video was taken from an angle where I was putting Nicolle in the car and Emma or Aunty were no where in the frame.

This could mean only one thing. Whoever recorded this video, wanted to malign Nicolle. And if I am not wrong, he is the same person who raped her. Firstly he put something in the shake which made her dizzy. Then he took Nicolle to the room from back gate. He did whatever s**t he wanted and then left the moment fire alarm went on.

He had no time to cover her up or clean his s***n from her body. This could mean only one thing, he wanted to keep her longer but because of the fire alarm he had to leave in hurry. Of course the address and name on the motel registration system were wrong.

If only there was a way to get that bastard. The way that person took Nicolle in motel, he seems to know what he was doing. He is a known relative/friend/classmate/neighbor/any one but definitely someone who knew Nicolle and was trying hard to get his hands on her. When he saw that Nicolle is marrying someone, he couldn't let go and r***d her.

He was definitely some one from the town who knew that the motel didn't have any cameras, who knew that the motel has reception area in the front, but has a back door as well, who knew that she is getting married next day, someone who knew Kevin will call off the marriage after seeing the video. That's why that asshole made video and leaked to media. He used me and my position to hurt Nicolle, and now I will use my position to bring that rat out. I will avenge you Nicolle. I will make him pay for hurting you. And I will not let anyone hurt you again, ever.
