"You’re going to stay here for how long?" I asked, watching as Devon placed my bag down on the couch.
“A few months,” he replied.
“What about work?” I queried, my curiosity piqued.
“I’ll be working here to figure out how the company can establish another branch in this area,” he informed me.
“And this was decided when?” I asked, my eyebrow raised, as Devon flopped down on the couch.
“Last year, and I wanted to expedite the process now,” he said, meeting my gaze.
“Why?” I pressed further, wanting to understand his motivations.
