Amethyst's POV
Out of all the guys I'd be fixed married to, it was this guy.
Why Shaw?
I gulped.
Then, I backed away.
Shaw raised a brow at me and made his way towards me.
Our parents looked at us with a confused look.
I shook my head in denial.
"Y-you?" I stuttered.
Shaw smirked at me.
Oh ghad.
This must be a nightmare.
I turned my back from him.
Then, I ran.
As fast as I could out of that place.
But even before I could get out of the door, I was lifted off the ground.
I screamed as Shaw put me on his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I shouted.
Our parents came rushing to us and saw the scene.
They all gasped in surprise seeing our situation.
"Oh my ghad! Devon, what are you doing?!" his mother shouted.
"Devon, put that young lady down! Now!" his father said in a warning tone.
Shaw ignored them and walked pass them with me on his back.
"I said put me down!" I shouted again but Shaw ignored me.
"Devon Alexus Shaw!" his parents called for him as he climbed up the stair with me still on his shoulders.
"You fcking psychopath" I muttered in gritted teeth.
I tried hitting him so he'd let me down but that didn't work.
"Stay put, Wright" he said in a warming tone.
No one could stop him.
We reached the second floor and went inside a room.
Then, he shut the door and put me down on the bed.
I glared at him.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I said pissed as I stood up.
Shaw glared back at me.
"And what the hell is wrong with YOU?" he asked back.
My brows furrowed as I looked at him.
"Excuse me? You were the one who carried me like a sack here? And you're asking me what's wrong with me?" I said.
"You tried to run away that's why" he said with furrowed brows.
I rolled my eyes and looked away.
"Why did you leave yesterday?" he suddenly asked.
I looked at him with a raised brow.
"What?" I said trying to feign innocence.
"Yesterday morning, you left without a word. When I woke up you were gone" he said crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"I don't know what you're talking about" I lied.
Shaw scoffed.
I frowned and tried to walk away from him but he caught me by my arm.
I glared at him.
"I don't want to talk to you. Don't force me" I said as my jaw clenched.
Shaw looked me in the eyes as his jaw clenched and his hold tightened.
"You're not going to rum away again" he said firmly.
I chuckled in disbelief.
Then, I held Shaw's arm, twisted it to his back and pushed him on the bed on his front.
"I said that I didn't want to talk" I said and let him go before walking away to leave the room.
Suddenly, I was held by the waist and pinned on the bed.
My eyes widened while Shaw was on top pf me with a dark look on his face.
"Get off" I said.
"No. Unless you stop acting up, I'm not letting you go" he said.
I squinted my eyes at him.
"This is s****l harassment" I said.
Shaw chuckled.
I frowned at him.
"Get off, you prck" I said as I struggled from his hold.
"No" he said firmly.
"Why did you run away yesterday?" he said.
I bit my lower lip as I averted my gaze from him.
"I didn't run away" I denied.
"Yes, you did. Tell me why" he said.
I looked at him in disbelief.
"It was a one night stand. A one time thing. I'm sure you've done it before and you already know how it goes" I said.
He raised a brow at me.
"How are you so sure that I've done one night stands before?" he said.
I scoffed.
"Your whole image screams fckboy" I said with a smirk.
Shaw smirked back at me.
"I see, you're the judgemental type" he said.
"Probably because you're a freaking p*****t and an obvious psychopath" I hissed.
Shaw chuckled.
"Seriously, Shaw. Let me go" I said.
"No" he said again.
I glared at him.
This will be my last resort.
I screamed.
I screamed like there was tomorrow as I tried to get out of his hold.
But then...
He kissed me.
My eyes widened as his lips were on mine.
My fingers curled into fists as my whole body stiffened in shock.
And then, I lost it.
I closed my eyes and I felt Shaw's hold on me soften.
His lips started moving.
It's like I was possessed by the devil when I suddenly responded to his kiss.
I wanted to stop myself but couldn't.
I felt that same sensation from that night in the club.
And I wasn't even drunk this time.
I'm sober.
Completely sober.
Shaw completely let go of my hand and held my face instead while his other hand supported his weight.
My arms moved on their own as I put them around his nape as we deepened the kiss.
Shaw groaned as he moved his hand on my waist.
We continued to make out on the bed.
Until the door burst open.
Then, there were gasps.
I immediately opened my eyes and pushed Shaw off of me.
Shaw fell to the floor with a thud and a groan.
Our parents looked at us wide eyed.
I bit my lower lip as I stormed out of the room and made my way downstairs.
I can't do this today.
It's already embarrassing enough that I saw him again after having a one night stand with him recently.
And now, I kissed him back?
Who am I and what demon possessed me to do those things?
I must be crazy.
The lack of sleep and fatigue must have taken such a huge toll on me that I lost all ability to make good decisions in life.
I reached the living room and ran to get out.
I was able to get out of the door and I made my way to the guard.
"Miss Amethyst" a guard blocked me.
I glared at the guard.
"Get out of my way" I said in a dangerous tone.
The guard didn't budge.
"I'm leaving. Now, get out of my way" I said.
"I can't let you do that, miss" he said.
My jaw clenched.
"Fine" I said and went the other way to walk.
If I can't take the car, I'll walk.
I don't care how far I need to walk, I just need to get out of here.
As fast as I can.
"Amethyst" I heard my father call me.
I didn't look back.
Instead, I ran.
Again.
It wasn't very comfortable in this dress but I I still did.
"Get her!" I heard my father shout.
I ran even faster.
But then the guard caught me and held me by the arm.
"Let me go or else I'll break your arm!" I warned.
The guard only tightened his grip on me.
I winced a little.
"Let her go"
We both turned around and saw Shaw coming our way.
"I said let her go" Shaw said in a dangerous tone.
The guard immediately let me go and backed away.
I stood there as I held my arm and massaged it a little.
I glared at the guard again.
He held me too tightly.
"Are you okay?" Shaw asked when he got to me.
I ignored him and started walking away again.
"Wright" he called as he followed me.
I didn't stop.
"Wright" he called again.
I really can't do this right now.
Nope.
"Amethyst" he said and I looked at him.
"Stay" he said.
I raised a brow at him.
"Your parents are waiting for you" he said.
I glanced at my parents direction.
His parents were there to as they looked at our direction.
I sighed.
"Come on" he said and offered me his hand.
I only looked at it.
"Amethyst" he said.
I looked away and took my phone.
I needed to do something.
Anything.
I quickly dialed Ady's number.
Shaw's brows furrowed in confusion as he watched me.
Ady immediately picked up.
"Hey. What's up?"
"I need you. Please" I said.
I saw Shaw raise his brows at me.
"I'm on my way"
Then, we ended the call.
"Who was that?" Shaw asked with a frown.
"You can go back. I'll follow you guys after he gets here" I said and turned my back from him.
"He?" Shaw said.
I nodded.
I wished Ady would come soon.
I can no longer stay here alone.
I can handle a lot of things but I'm too drained for this one.
"Who is HE?" Shaw asked giving me a look of displeasure.
I didn't answer.
Shaw's jaw clenched and then sighed.
Then, he stood beside me.
"If you don't want to tell me, then don't. But I'm not leaving until you come back in there with me" he said.
Then, he glanced at the guard.
"Tell our parents that they can go inside. We're just waiting for someone to come" he said.
The guard nodded and left.
The both of us just stood there without another word.
I felt like I was being suffocated.
I hated this feeling so much.
I made a mistake and now, it's following me around.
Literally.
What a nightmare.
After a while, I saw Ady's car.
I also saw how Shaw's brows furrowed as his gaze followed the car.
Ady parked his car and got off.
I immediately made my way to him and Shaw followed me.
"Amy" Ady said and rushed to me as soon as he saw me.
Ady wrapped his arms around me protectively and glanced at Shaw.
"What happened?" he asked.
I refused to talk and buried my face on Ady's chest.
"Nothing" Shaw said.
"Amy" Ady called me.
"What happened? Where's mom and dad?" he asked.
I didn't answer him again.
Ady sighed.
"Our parents are inside waiting. We should head in" Shaw said.
Ady nodded and caressed my head before holding my hand.
"I'll go with you. Come on" Ady said and the 3 of us walked back inside together.
We ended up getting together for lunch like the original plan.
I just sat there awkwardly with Ady beside me and Shaw in front of me.
Our parents were eyeing us but I didn't even look at them.
I was already dying of embarrassment.
"So" Shaw's father started.
"Amethyst, I'm guessing that you and my son already know each other. I'm guessing for quite a while?" his father said.
Barely.
"Yes. Yes, we do" Shaw answered and glanced at me.
Ady gave me a look of confusion.
"You do?" he whispered to me.
I shook my head in denial.
"I barely know him" I denied.
"How did you guys meet?" Shaw's mother asked.
Shaw looked at me straight in the eyes.
"She's my girlfriend" he said.
My eyes widened at him.
"No, I'm not" I said standing up.
Shaw glanced at our shocked parents and my brother.
"We wanted to keep it as a private relationship but then, as it turns out, she's going to be my fiancé so we might as well come out with it" he said and grinned at me.
I looked at him in disbelief.
What a liar.
"That's not true" I said eyeing Shaw.
He had this smug look in his face like he just won something important.
"Darling, don't deny anymore. It's all good. We're actually glad. It's unexpected but it's also fortunate" Shaw's mother said standing up and going to my side to hug me.
I just froze up as I looked at Shaw take a sip on his drink with a smirk on his face.
This jerk.
I'm going to kill him.
