Chapter 11

Rip POV I didn’t have time to kick myself for trying to take Annie in the bathroom. She deserves better than that and I knew that, my desire took over and I didn't think. I was going to drag her to my room, but when I felt her body against mine, I lost all the blood to my brain. I still wanted to taste her. Needed to taste. Needed to have her. I’d never had a reaction like this to a woman. Sure, my c**k had stood at attention to a lot of beautiful women, but I had never struggled to take my eyes off someone. She drew me to her. She had this magnetism that had my whole body aware of her every move. Not just that, I was intrigued by her. On the outside, she is in control, watching and making sure everyone else around her is looked after. On the inside, she is on autopilot. She is so aware of everyone else that she doesn't seem to notice herself... which I realize now I didn't like or understand. I'm the opposite to her and I know it. I'm the first to admit I'm a selfish, self-centered prick. Following her into that bathroom proved it. I don't even know how long she had been widowed. I need to find that out so I know how to move forward. It's still white where her wedding rings used to be, so it doesn’t look like they were moved that long ago. Ideas that I never thought i would have, starting to formulate. “President, VP, two enforcers and others from Satan’s Tribe are here.” We were all informed as everyone armed themselves and got into position. We keep a peaceful front, but with all our backgrounds, what do you expect? “They say they just want to talk.” Viking deadpans as we here more motorbikes roll up. Did they bring their whole f*****g club? “Spokes, Trigger and the others are in position.” Bones informs us. As the Sargent of Arms, I stand at Viking side with his enforcer, Bones, on the other side. His VP, Trigger, would never give up his spot with a scope and barrel in front of him, and with his aim we wouldn't ask him to. Trigger is a top marksman along with Spokes and two others who could take down everyone out there before they blinked. We don't need any other enforcers, because it's really not needed. The topic comes up occasionally and certainly will after tonight. “What the f**k are the Red serpents doing here?” I’d like to know that myself. “I called my brother. Their here as ‘back up’” Stalker does quote marks. Stalker’s brother is an enforcer at Red Serpents MC. They are a mostly legal MC who have no issues with us due to most of their own military backgrounds. All of their members are out though, some with dishonorable discharges for some reason or another. Not my place to care. Stalker got his name because he’s in counterintelligence for those in the loop. I didn’t think the road name was a good idea, but he came up with it, so his funeral. Bones got his from his fighting skills. He has broken a LOT of people's bones. Viking from a mission that he doesn't talk about and me Rip, from Rest In Peace. They wanted to call me Reaper, but I refused. I kill because I have to. It's my job, I'm not proud of it. No one should. The Red Serpents don't need to be mindful of serving members so have no problems with throwing down when needed in public or having their name against issues. Stalker did well, he's near the end of his prospecting and I will be tabling it tonight to have him patched in. Five of us walked out to the gates where the prospect opened them slightly for us. He followed protocol and stayed in the hut, which was bullet-proof. “We don’t want trouble, just the bodies.” The president, Ridge, was straight to it. “What bodies?” Beast's gruff voice rings out. Beast is the president of the Red Serpents. Looking at him, you would know why he got the name. The man is huge and built like a beast. He has an aura of danger and a reputation that goes with it. “Three of my brothers had their f*****g heads in their asses and tried to force Trigger's daughter to take her old man back. We know they paid for their stupidity. We just want the bodies.” “Just like that?” Viking raised a brow. “Yeah. Just like that. They decided to f**k themselves. Two weren’t long out of the ground anyway.” “Why?” “Stealin’ product. Now... we got no beef with you, no matter what the f****d up rumors say. We got enough problems with others tryin' to get on our territory.” “We heard.” Viking deadpans. “Still don’t make sense.” Beast narrowed his eyes at Ridge. “Needed to clear the f*****g air. Wasn’t stupid enough to come alone an' don’t need more issues.” Ridge answered, but this time, was looking straight at me. Seems we have a mole, and I don’t mean the club. I didn’t give him anything as I stared back. They went back and forward a bit while I thought about who it could be and what he could have found out. Viking gave him the location in a round about way before Ridge once again looked at me. “Appreciate it! Hopin’ this is the end of it.” I once again gave him nothing, as Viking only narrowed his eyes and Beast didn't make a move either. Ridge and his men pealed out and took off quickly. I turned and walked back in to check on Annie. I needed to make sure she wasn’t too shaken up, and I had to make a few phone calls. “Rip.” Viking called out. “Later.” I kept walking. Anne POV We actually had fun down in the bunker or rec room. The wives were lovely and we chatted easily. I had met Amy briefly upstairs. Collins was Ax’s wife and then there was Crystal, who was married to Scout and who I accidently thought was a bunny because she walked in with them. I felt bad about that! The bunnies stayed together in the corner and chatted among themselves. We were in the middle of a fish card game with the kids when the door opened. Doc was first in to check on his wife and kids. Next was Ax, who reminded me of a real bad boy biker with all his tattoos, long beard and flannel shirt under his cut. I was introduced to them when Ax laughed out. “Ah you’re the one to thank for the food. Best chow I’ve had in ages…” Collins glared at him. “Here. Best chow here, of course, love.” He quickly kissed his wife’s cheek, making her roll her eyes as the rest of us laugh. We headed back upstairs and came across Reid on the way. He looked me up and down, and I couldn’t help but blush like a school girl. He surprisingly kissed me on the forehead before continuing on down the hallway. “I knew it.” Fire sing-songed. “It’s about time!” Amy threw her hands up in the air. I just shook my head. “He just likes that I gave him food before. Men are simple beasts. Food or s*x or both.” “Aint that the f*****g truth.” Crystal laughed. I froze again at her use of the f word around the kids, then mentally slapped myself. I’m such an old nag. My parents were very strict when it came to swear words and manners, and I have to admit it rubbed off on me, and I'm the same. Damn I'm such a square! Everyone’s different, and it’s not my place… and honestly, we all know those in the military swear worse than truckers. One of my best friend’s brothers is in the Army. I once caught up with him after he just got back from some training exercise and, seriously, every second word was a swear word and some were words I hadn’t even heard of before. Yes, I did google them after, while laughing at myself about how out of touch I was with everything. We made it back to the common room and saw there were a lot more people there tucking into the food as more food was being quickly brought out. The new guys definitely had the full scary bikey looks going and I noticed they did have different club vests. Oops sorry, MC cuts. Yeah, I think its exit stage right time.
