Chapter Twenty-Four
She stumbled away from Cam as they exited the Staran at the house on the mists. She was grateful he'd been well enough to wait for her signal, but that didn't stop the exhaustion that filled every part of her body.
"You need to rest," Cam warned her.
She shook her head. "There's more important things that need doing."
"They can wait."
She turned to face him. "Can Jared really wait?" she asked. "Don't answer with the love you have for me. Answer with how you feel about him."
"No. I don't think he can," he admitted softly.
"Then neither can we. Get the others to come to the bedroom." She walked away from him and towards the house. At least she'd taken the time to shower at the palace before she'd addressed everyone. It was one less thing she needed to worry about n
