Chapter Eight Warmth filled her senses. That didn't make any sense. She'd been underwater and the sea was undeniably cold, even for a kelpie. Her eyes snapped open as the memories flooded back in. She'd been caught in a net. The sea kelpies would no doubt think she'd betrayed them just like they thought her father had. That couldn't end well for any of them. "Ah, you're awake," a familiar voice said. She turned her head, only half surprised to find Jonas looking down at her. "What are you doing here?" she croaked. "Funny story. After you ran away, I decided I was going to head to the sea anyway. I've heard stories about a ghost ship off the coast and wanted to try and press my luck to see if I could find it. The last thing I expected was to end up with you dragged out of the sea." "
