As soon as the sound of footsteps was heard on the hallway, heads turned to face in the direction. Eyes stared, mouths dropped in awe, as she walked elegantly and majestically, flashing a smile in a way that showed her pretty white set of teeth. She waved as she walked, making her look like a model on a runway. It was no other person than the school pretty princess; Aria Sallow. Aria, was a young and pretty girl. She wasn't any pretty girl, but was known as the school's fashion goddess. She was quite famous for her high taste in fashion and her love for the colour pink; yea she loved pink. Which earned her the name " pinky". Aria was one of the most prettiest girl in Beverly high.She was of average height, she had long brown hair, more of a nutbrown colour. she had brown eyes that could make one want to drown in them. She had natural pink lips, and she had an habit of always licking her lips almost like she was always trying to keep them moist at all times. She was the crush of almost all the guys in school, but she paid no attention to anyone. She continued walking, keeping her pace. Several hands were waving and faces were smiling. She smiled and waved back, feeling more like a celebrity. This was what she faced almost every day at school, and she was quite angry that the summer break had come to an end so soon. As she walked,she saw a lot of new faces, and of cause, new ones too. Obviously, the school had admitted new students. But she could only care less, her eyes surged through every faces, in search of only one person - her Best friend; Trixie. A guy approached her and gave her a single rose. She smiled as she accepted it, she knew him quite well, it was Jason, her ex boyfriend and one of the school's prefect. Although they had broken up, they were still in good terms. And he was always gifting her every now and then. " thanks Jason. I appreciate it " " I'm glad you did. Welcome back to school, how was your summer? " "Fine. how was yours? " " perfect. you're looking more prettier. " He complimented. She blushed slightly. " Thanks Jay " " Sure. see you later in class " She nodded. He smiled at her,then walked over to the other side where his friends were waiting. She stared at the rose in her hand,sniffed it and smiled, deep in thoughts. The touch of someone startled her from behind.She turned back swiftly, and came in contact with the person face to face. " Oh Trixie! you startled me. Is this how you greet your best friend after the summer vacation? " she said, Startled. Her left hand was on her chest, while her other hand held the rose. " why were you so startled Aria? " Trixie replied, grinning " oh , is that a rose you're holding? let me see.. " " it's not something you should see" Aria replied, putting the rose behind her " I've missed you so much Trix. you barely called. " she gave her a side hug. " Yea.i know. I was way too busy having a good time" " With your family?" " Hell no Aria " She replied with a disappointed look. " You know my dad is always busy, and my mum went on a vacation with her so- called husband " she said sarcastically. " Trix. you know that isn't a nice way to speak about your father " " Step father " She corrected, smirking. " whatever terms you wish to use Trix.It doesn't change anything.He's married to your mum,and he's playing the role of your father. " " It isn't like I don't appreciate him. it's just that... anyway Aria, forget about that. Guess who I spent the summer with? " Aria rolled her eyes. Trix was back again. she always had things to say, stories to tell. And she wasn't quite the talkative type. While Trix was always talking, she gave the listening ears. Most times she wasn't even listening,she would drift away to her own world, unaware, until Trixie brought her back with a slap , or her high pitched voice. " uhm... I don't know... Kelvin? " Trix smiled widely. " Always good at guesses. And yeah, you're right, I spent the whole summer with him. " " That's nice " She said rather Uninterested. Kelvin was Trixie's boyfriend. And Aria really didn't like him for her. Kelvin was a cheat. And Trix had no idea that he was being unfaithful to her. she loved kelvin with all her heart, but all he did in return was to shove the love in her face. He really didn't deserve Trixie, she was way too nice for a jerk like him. But what could she do? She couldn't stop her from loving him, neither could she tell her how he was cheating on her, or how she had caught him cheating on her with her (Trixie) own younger sister. She didn't want to tell Trixie and hurt her own feelings. That was why she kept quiet about everything, she hoped and prayed that Trixie would find out on her own. But then, she had that hatred for kelvin, and ignored him as best as she could. " You don't sound happy that I spent the summer with him. what's wrong? " " It's nothing. I'm just tired. " She said , tucking the rose into her bag. " Tired? on a Monday morning? Ria, but I don't really get, yea, I know you don't like kelvin. And..... who gave you that rose? " " One can get tired anytime of the day. and yea, I don't like kelvin a bit. and as for the rose, Jason gave me. " " wow.. really? Are you guys back together now?" She teased. tickling her, Aria laughed loud. " Stop it Trix. we aren't back together. " she said in between giggles " it's just a friendly gift " " ohh ... I see.... such a nice friendly gift.... I'd like to get one " she winked. They walked slowly down the hallway , with Trixie talking and teasing loudly. They were soon interrupted by someone who yelled Trixie's name, Aria turned, before Trix did. it was none other person than kelvin. Talk of the devil, and he's here Aria said quietly in her mind. Trixie was delighted to see him. She ran to hug him, he was walking few steps towards them. They embraced tightly " Hey baby. good to see you. you missed me? " kelvin said to Trixie, who was grinning from ear to ear. Aria turned her face away. She hated the sight of him.And the fact that he was just fooling her bestie who had no clue what the guy was doing. How innocent he looked, like he was the messiah himself. " Sure. I missed you babe. you're quite late,huh? " " yea Hun. didn't want to come today but, I thought about you and I decided to " Aria smirked. what a lying jerk...he sure knows how to fool " awwnn .how sweet of you " Trixie was obviously,been swept off her feet. she was so blinded by her love for kelvin that she failed to see the other sides of him. I wish you get this s**t out of your life soon. " Hey Aria" Why the hell does he have to call her name? She turned round and faked a smile. Walking toward them to take a handshake. " Quite alright, and you? " " oh, I'm good as f**k " he smirked. " Trixie made my summer a memory of a lifetime" Trixie was really blushing, Aria couldn't help but grin, faintly " That's nice. " " Yea. did she tell you we made out almost every day at her house? " what the hell was he trying to do? was he trying to let her know that he already had both sisters in bed, and the same house Trixie flushed in slight embarrassment, she pinched kelvin slightly, whispering in his ears, although Aria could hear " Not now baby, not here " kelvin smiled. retrieving his hands from Aria's and putting both hands in his pockets. He gave Trixie a peck on her forehead, before waving them both good bye. " Alright baby. see you girls later " " Take care sweetie" " isn't he sweet? " Trixie asked as soon as he was out of sight. Aria scoffed. " Sweet and naughty. and of course irritating " " Ria! it's my boyfriend you're talking about, how can you call him irritating" Trix was a little bit pissed " Don't get me wrong Trix. I know it sounds kind of annoying to you, but believe me , I didn't mean it that way, I meant irritating, in the sense that he told me openly that you both made out almost every day, like who does that? " her hands were in the air. Trix sighed " I get it. but he really didn't mean it that way, I mean, of course what he said was true though" was Trixie kidding her? " I don't believe you Trix." she rolled her eyes. " Oh c'mon Ria, it's no big deal" " For you though ." " Wait till you try it yourself" Trix burst out in laughter " Like for real? You're crazy Trix." " Of course we are, remember? " They both laughed out loud. * * * Daniel walked aimlessly, trying to find the director's office. But each time he asked for directions, he only ended up at the wrong office. It was as if the students he met on the way, were only trying to make him suffer and walk in vain. He cursed silently. He walked around, unsure of where next to go, or who to ask next. He really didn't want to get fooled by anyone else again. So he decided to walk and find the office on his own. Although Beverly high was a very big school, he knew it would be quite difficult to locate it, but he was willing to try. He was walking down the official staffs building, he figured out that would be the only place the office would be. His eyes were at the top of each of the doors, for easier identification, as each staff's positions were written at the top of the doors. He walked briskly, as time was running out,and he really needed to submit his academic credentials to the director. In a bid to find the office as fast as he could, he bumped into someone and all the papers he held in his hands fell, they got mixed up with the other person's books . He bent down quickly to pick them up, without taking a glance at the person he collided with. He wasn't the only one who bent down to pick the fallen books, the other person did, and finally, he stood up to take a look, their eyes met, and for a minute, they stared at each other, both admiring silently, without uttering a word. It was quite a nervous silence, as both parties didn't know what to say or who would talk first. Daniel decided to apologize first, since he was sure he was the one who bumped into her in a hurry, but he was cut short as soon as he uttered a word, because the other person also tried saying something, making the both of them speak at the same time. Daniel smiled. " I'm so so sorry " He started " I should have been more careful " She nodded negatively " No. not at all, it wasn't your fault. I should have watched my steps" . Daniel stood, watching her as she spoke. She spoke eloquently. Speaking as calm and soft as possible. She spoke without stress. Making every word that came out of her mouth sound like music to his ears. Her voice was just as pretty as she looked. He really couldn't help it. He took his Time to admire everything about her. He was drifting slowly, unaware that he was staring right into her eyes, he could hear her speaking, but he was unsure of the words, he kept staring, till she waved at his face, then he realized where he was and what he was doing, he pinched himself in a way that only him could notice What the hell is wrong with you? he said to himself quietly. " Are you okay? " her question brought him back to reality. she was staring at him with a kind of concerned look on her face. He nodded " Yea. of course am fine. I'm.... I'm just stressed, you know... " He spoke nervously "I've been searching for the director's office for some few hours now, and yet, I still can't find it. Everyone I met on the way and asked for directions only gave me the wrong information, I always ended up in the wrong place. So I made up my mind to find it myself, and I was in a hurry, I didn't realize I wasn't watching my steps, so that was how I bumped into you " " ohh... I see..." she said, giggling. " did I say anything funny? " he was quite sure he didn't say something funny that made her giggle. " No. not at all. I mean, from what you explained, it's obvious everyone was just trying to mess with you. Welcome to Beverly high. The students here are quite messy " " Ohh.... is that the case? " " yeah. but I can help you out with the direction if you want." " uhm .. thanks.... I don't really need any help " " why?, it's not like I'll play mind games with you like the people you met before. Or do I really look bad to you? " Of course he looked at her. And he could tell for sure that she was a nice person. He was pretty sure that she really wouldn't mess with him, but still, he just didn't want to get fooled again. All he really wanted was to find the office without being fooled. " well I really don't want to be messed with again. I'm tryna be careful " " No problems " she sighed " it's your choice anyway, I'm just gonna get to class " She said, arranging the books in her hand. He really didn't want to let her go just like that, but he had no idea in what to do to make her stay. He checked his watch on his wrist and was shocked to see that he was already one hour late to submit his credentials. Sooner or later, the director would have vacated his office. He really needed the right directions, and he was sure that she could give him the right details. " Fine. I'll need your help. " He said, just as she was about leaving. She turned slowly to face him, she had a smirk at the corner of her lips " Please show me the way to the director's office" " Oh really " She said, rolling her eyes " Well mister, I changed my mind" " huh? " " exactly" She smiled. " I'm quite late for class. you declined my help a while ago, now you want me to help you? aren't you scared of being given the wrong directions again? " " Look. I'm sorry if I doubted you. but anyone in my shoes would do that. But please I really need you to direct me. It's getting late, and soon he won't be around " " Then maybe you can come back tomorrow " was she being serious? " you know what? fine. I'll find the office myself " He was quite annoyed " Alright then . good luck to you " She said smiling, not moving an inch. like she was waiting for him to leave He smirked. She sure had the nerves, and attitude too. And to think that he thought her gentle and flawless. Beauty really had nothing to do with character . He halted in between his steps then turned round to face her, she was still standing, staring at him " Aren't you going to class? " " Does that really matter to you?. you should focus on what you're looking for. Not asking non related questions" " Well, a moment ago, you said you had classes to attend to, why are you still here? " " Also, a moment ago, you said you wanted to find the director's office yourself, why are you still here? " He laughed " Are you being for real? you're quite..... I don't know...... like seriously.... I really have no idea on the word to use for you, to describe you rather " She smirked, stepping close to him " You can use cheesy. I'm quite cheesy, don't you think?. that's the word to use " " I'd say, you're saucy , and unpredictable. guess you're allowing your beauty get into your head " She blushed slightly. did he just say she was beautiful? Oh my world.. She was feeling flattered " Ohh really? Just our first time of seeing and you're already admiring me? Am I really that hard to resist? She said, tucking her hair behind her left ear, she looked pretty when she did that, and he tried his best not to open his mouth in admiration " You're so unbelievable. I wasn't admiring you silly, I was just stating the fact " " That I'm pretty? " She said, rather,in a flirty tone " No. I was just stating the fact that you're quite saucy, and arrogant. Maybe I could also add the word proud. Yea... that's it, you're princess pridey " what? did he just call her princess pridey? what the hell was that? " Did you just call me.... " " you heard me right " he interrupted, placing his bag over his right shoulder " that's what suites you " " How dare you ? "she asked with clenched teeth and fists " hey... don't bite me " he burst out laughing " I'm off, bye. " She couldn't attack or chase after him, he was laughing as he walked. Or maybe ran. Because his pace was quite fast, it was more like a fast jogging. How on earth could he call her, of all words to use- Pride. She wasn't in any way proud. She was so sure of that. Before she could think of what to do, The school bell rang.. Signifying that it was time for lectures " arrghh, I hate the sound of that annoying bell, and I hate being back to school " * * * Bianca Lawson, was also one of the prettiest girls in Beverly high. Her family was one of the wealthiest, and her father was one of the major support of the school. He donated and provided the school with so many stuffs that improved the students learning. Thus, this made her very proud and influential, as she got away with almost everything and every trouble she caused in school. Bianca was a very pretty girl, she was very tall . She had a very bright and radiant skin that shone like a mirror in the sun. Her hair wasn't quite long, it stopped on her shoulders. She had dark hair, but she dyed part of it purple. Guess that was her favorite colour. She was more like a model. She had just the perfect body and height for it. She walked elegantly, and was also one of the school's fashion goddess, after Aria. Of course she was pretty, and she had a nice smile. But one thing that made people dislike her was her attitude, and her pride. She was the leader of a very notorious female clique " Sparkles" . They were Seven girls in all, each one of them was from a wealthy family. But Bianca's family had the upper hand. Next to bianca in the clique was Elena Salvador. Who was from the Philippines. She was kind of the assistant to bianca, you could call them best friends, cause they were very close, and so we're their families. The other five girls in the clique were ; Sasha, Molly, Olivia, and the pretty notorious twins - Skyler and Samantha. Bianca's driver had just dropped her at the gate of her school with the new car her dad bought for her. It was a sleek " Bugatti Chiron pur sport " It was a gift from her dad over the summer, and she was very proud as students spoke about it and took pictures of her coming down from the passenger seat. Did she just buy a new car? isn't this the latest one ? I heard it was a gift from her dad Lucky her, I wish we had the same parents She smiled as everyone spoke. This was what she loved. She loved been the center of attraction. She loved been in the spotlight. She loved feeling like a celebrity. She walked elegantly into the school's premises. How great it felt to be back to school, and back to the company of her clique. She smiled wildly, climbing the staircase that led to the hallway. She caught sight of Olivia, she snapped her finger at a female student close to her , Signifying that she was calling her. The girl came close and greeted, she ignored the greeting and sent her something else " You know Olivia right? " she asked, pointing out Olivia where she stood talking to a guy The girl nodded in affirmative " Good. now, go and call her, tell her to come over here. I can't possibly yell her name or walk up to her, it's my first day at school after summer, and I don't want to start it stressing myself out " " Alright, I'll go call her right away " " Good. now go " The girl scurried away. Bianca arranged her dress, taking a hand mirror from her bag and checking herself out in it . Few minutes later, Olivia walked up to her, without the other girl " Hey babe. You're looking quite stunning. " Olivia complimented, opening her arms for a hug. Bianca reciprocated " Thanks Hun. you're not looking any bad either. " " I'm quite flattered" " nice one. I can't seem to find the other girls, any idea where they are? ," " Not really. I've only seen Molly. haven't seen the others " " Including Elena? " " Elena should be in school shortly. we spoke few minutes ago, and she said she was preparing for school " " Ohh .. I see " " How was your summer B?. got a new boyfriend? " " I can't discuss that part of my life with you " Bianca snorted, sounding a little bit rude. She wasn't quite close with the other girls, especially Olivia, to her, Olivia collected her ex boyfriend from her, and although they were still on talking terms, she still held that grudge against her " Ohh... I see... is it because... " " Enough Olivia " " No bianca. If it's about Jeremy then.... " " I said enough Olivia! " she half yelled, drawing the attention of some students around. Olivia understood, and kept quiet. She muttered an apology and turned to leave " What's happening here? Did I miss anything? " Bianca recognized the voice at once. It was her friend Elena " Ohh Elena, I missed you " Bianca drew her close for a hug, Elena was more than excited to do the same " How was your summer? " " It was the best, I really had a great time ". " You sure did. I heard your dad got you a new ride. Ohh my world girl... you rock ! " Bianca laughed out loud " We both rock, I mean... your mum got you something new too " " Oh yeah.. But it's just a Rolex watch, not a sleek ride like yours B " Olivia coughed " Am I already out of the picture? " Bianca rolled her eyes " hey Liv " Elena called, moving forward to her, " Sorry if you felt left out, I was so excited to see B " She gave her a hug " You sure are , Elena. I was about to taking my leave tho " She broke free from the hug " so soon? " " Yes. I was busy when Bianca interrupted me, I'd like to go back to what I was doing " " Of course you were busy, with someone's boyfriend " Bianca scoffed " At least he's mine now, nothing can change that " " Not now girls " Elena interrupted, before bianca could reply " This is definitely not the time.not here, not now " " I know so. that's why I'm taking my leave now. See you later " Olivia kissed her good bye. " What was that for Bianca? I thought we decided to let all things lie low, why did you say that to Liv ? " " Not like I said anything bad, or untrue " She shrugged. " Bianca. Please try to get rid of these negative energy. I know a lot has happened between you two, but, I can't stand my friends throwing words at each other. It isn't right in any way " " Okay fine. " Bianca said, rolling her eyes " I'll try to be on my best behavior with her from now on, but she shouldn't shove the fact that she's dating Jeremy in my face" " I'll talk to her for sure . Come on girl, think we should start going to class. Guess the first lecture for the day " " How on earth can I remember? It's been almost a month since we last came to class" " Ohh B. it's Monday morning, don't remember Mrs . Smith? " " Oh my world " Bianca placed her hands on her mouth " Arithmetic? " Elena nodded " No way. I hate Arithmetic. Let's just skip the class " " Hell no bianca. You know, I promised myself to do more better at school now. And skipping classes won't help me. I'm going to that class. And you're coming with me " " You can go, I'll just go somewhere else, maybe the garden " " No B. Come on " Elena held her hand, looking at her with those puppy eyes look " Do this for me, come with me " Those eyes. Bianca could never reject an offer when she had that look on her face. It was the same with her. They both used those innocent look to get what they want from each other. With that look on Elena's face, she had no option than to surrender. " Okay, fine " she shrugged " I'll go to class " Elena jumped happily, clapping her hands as she smiled wildly. " I love you B." " Keep your love to yourself. I don't do girls" Bianca replied, giggling " You know I didn't mean it that way " " Of course I'm joking too, silly " * * * Trixie was busy on her phone when Aria walked up to her seat in class. She looked up to face her, but Aria didn't seem like she was quite in a happy mood for the fact that she didn't even acknowledge her presence, or the fact that she was waving at her. " What's up Aria? why are you all worked up ? " " Nothing serious. I'm just not in the mood " She muttered, dropping the books in her hand in front of her. It gave a loud thud, that most of her classmates turned to look in her direction Trixie dropped her phone " You can't tell me you're not in the mood for nothing. I know you too well, what's making you so upset? " " I'm fine Trix, I already said it's nothing " Trix was about to say another word when the Arithmetic teacher walked into the class, She reserved her comment and turned to her seat . " Hello class, it's do nice to have you all around here once more, how was your summer break? " Mrs Smith, the Arithmetic teacher asked Few students replied, some muttered answers, while the rest were busy searching for their books and materials " I'd like us to observe decorum. Please put everything else on hold, bring out your books and materials " " Aria" Trixie called " Did I give you my arithmetic note over the summer? I can't find it " " No " Aria muttered. She laid her head on the desk " If you all would excuse me, we have a new student in our midst " Mrs Smith announced " please come in " she said to the student at the door A cute guy walked into the class, he had a smiley face and he looked very decent, he bowed slightly to Mrs Smith " Please introduce yourself to the class. " He turned to face the class, all eyes were on him " I'm Daniel. Daniel Williams " Aria looked up, that voice sounded familiar. Oh no. It was the guy who called her proud. She looked squarely at him. Something told him to look towards that direction, and then he saw her .....
