1125 Words
I woke up after a nice sleep. There are still some who haven't woke up and so I went straight to the field to check if Karri and Jaira did some progress about the work.     I reached the field and saw Karri that just looks like she just woke up. Jaira also helped Karri on the work.     "Need some help?"     "No, it's fine. We could do the rest."     Jaira replied. I guess I can't do anything at this point. Maybe I should wander around for now.     I went walking around the school grounds. I've been doing this for many times already that I already have the whole location in my brain. The consecutive lamp post with the broken ones on the fourth, the huge stone with a smaller one on the side and even the dirt on the top of the metals on this school. I always remember this details...     While walking, I came across with the cylinder building in the middle of the school. I observed the place, but I don't find anything odd. I then decides take a look on the outside world.     I reached the top only to found out a guard. He was guarding seriously so I didn't bothered him. The moment I went downstairs, the guard shouted.     "Invaders!"     I looked at him again. So that's why he was guarding seriously huh. The guard didn't hesitated and told me "Tell the others!"     I immediately went downstairs until I reached the principal's room. I told him about what the guard saw and he informed everyone by accessing each speakers around the school.     I managed to reach Karri and Jaira. They quickly organizing the materials, including the cure. I think they are trying to hide it from others.     "They have tanks and heavy weaponry!"     The guard from the top shouted. Everyone panicked as they run around. I helped Karri and Jaira to pack up the necessary stuffs.     "Everyone, prepare to make an escape." The principal announced. I saw Loraine, Rias and Rodner as they made their way to us.     "Let's go."     Karri said. Loraine had a worry look in her face. I decided to ask by saying "What's wrong?"     "Christine and the others are missing. I can't find them anywhere..."     "But we'll have to go now! Or else, everything that we made so far could be just turned into nonsense."     Karri said. She then prepared the van to go outside. Slowly, the metallic surface that covers our school from outside chaos opened.     "Hop in!"     Karri opened the door for us to enter while she took the front seat. RIas and Rodner got in first while the only seat that's available is the back seat.     "Loraine, let's go. I'm sure that Ahllen and Christine escaped already."     I grabbed Loraine's hand as I encourage her to leave already. Everything was in chaos as the invaders started destroying each of the buildings.     Loraine stood for a second. It wasn't that long when she hopped in the van. I immediately closed the door as Jaira started the car.     The car worked and we traveled away from the school. The necessary materials for the cure was beside me which makes it uncomfortable to sit. I looked back at the school to check the situation.     What I noticed is that the tank that hey have access to. Some of them also has heavy weaponry which is odd in this situation.     "Must be the government's military force."     Jaira spoke. I again looked at the school and realized that the people on the back was wearing a soldiers' uniform.     "They must have been trying to eradicate the humans..."     Rodner joined in the conversation. I then wondered. Why? What's their purpose for this? The zombies are already a hard thing to deal with, then all of a sudden, military force would join in the problems?     "Christine... I failed protect her again."     Rias said. We were filled of different emotions at this point. What should we do, now that these things happened.     "Where do we go now?"     Rodner asked. Karri then looked back. It seems like she's about to say something.     "Any suggestion? I mean, we don't know any safe place to begin with."     "I'll check the social media for some advice."     The moment I opened the mobile data of my phone, I realized that there's no signal that's appearing. I tried turning it on and off, but it still doesn't work.     "The signal must have been down."     "Let's travel to the farthest we can for now."     Karri explained. After hearing those words, she returned back to her seat. I then looked at Loraine whose feeling down earlier. This time, it seems like she fell asleep.     I decided to check the place we're travelling at. The buildings around are familiar to me as I went through this place to travel going to school. Some of the buildings has burned into ashes while others looks so corrupted. It was like, I don't know the place anymore.     Night came and we decided to stop after a long drive. We're in a forest which is a good spot for the monsters. They could just attack us in a corner.     "I'll guard the area. You guys sleep."     Rias suddenly spoke. She then left the van. The others had their sleep while I'm here, wide awake. I can't stop thinking about Christine and Ahllen. I wish they are safe...     It's been hours and I'm still here, awake. I decided to check on Rias since I can't get enough sleep. Loraine was sleeping soundly and so I tried my best to avoid creating noise. I opened the back door and closed it after I left.     Right after setting my foot on the ground, I haven't seen any signs of Rias. She must have traveled a little bit further.     The moonlight was enough for me to see around. I started to search for Rias as I tried to be aware of any zombies that's loitering around.     Minutes passed. I still haven't seen Rias anywhere. I decided to go back to check if I passed her by.     In my surprise, I saw a human figure that's sitting down. The leaves' shadow block the sunlight that was supposed to the figure of the person.     "Rias?"     I said in an average loudness. I don't want attracting zombies around here.     I slowly walked while making sure it was Rias. I took a fallen tree branch to protect myself if ever it was someone. "Rias?"     I called out again. This time, I'm a lot closer and I could tell that it was Rias. She then turned her head to me and stared.     "Sorry. I was spacing out."     Little by little, I saw Rias's face. Her eyes shows signs of crying. I could tell as it was somehow wet.     "Why are you here?"     Rias asked while I helped her stood up. The moonlight then shone on her face. I could see it clearly. Those eyes that recently poured out tears.     "Why were you crying?"
