Today is the day that our Pack; The Black Moon Pack, crowns their new Alpha. Our previous Alpha, Alpha Raymond always had questionable leadership skills and because of that, our Pack has made a number of enemies, powerful enemies... His Mate, however, Luna Gabrielle is so generous to everyone, even me. He decided to step down because he felt like he couldn't be the Alpha the Pack needed ever since he lost his arm in the battle with the Rogues about 1 year ago. He decided to wait until his son, Damien reached the age of 18 so that the Alpha title can be handed down to him... Their son, Damien is even worse than his Father. He is rude, mean, cocky, a womanizer and to make it worse, he is drop-dead gorgeous. He has dark brown hair just like his Mom and deep blue eyes. His cheekbones are sculpted to perfection, his skin tanned and body fit and muscular... I could go on and on describing how handsome he is but I'll stop for your sake, I’m sure by now you can already tell that I have a hopeless crush on him, despite his shitty character. Once Naomi and I reach downstairs, we head to the kitchen and pass through the back door, heading outside where the ceremony is to take place. The weather is unforgiving today. It's freezing, light grey clouds floating around slowly in the sky, filled with snow and hail. Maybe I should've worn something a little warmer cause I can feel the coldness within my bones, making me shudder quietly and take in a few shaky breaths. We approach the part of the forest that had been decorated with white chairs and a few more miscellaneous decorations. The chairs had been arranged in rows on two sides with a space between, creating an aisle. Most of the seats are filled and we could only find free seats at the back. I figured, I'm sure everyone wants a good view of their new Alpha, the unmated females especially... Once we find a couple of chairs, I step in front of it and just when I am about to sit down, I fall back, my butt colliding with the hard ground instead of the chair. "Whoops." A voice says, and fear instantaneously creeps up my spine. Everyone's attention turning to me as they stare at me in disgust. I turn around and look up see Barbara staring down at me, crossing her arms with an evil smile plastered on her lips. "Should have paid more attention." She laughs along with the 2 other guys and one girl beside her. I have no idea how I managed to miss them even when I was walking here. If my Werewolf abilities were activated, maybe I would've been able to... Barbara is my biggest bully, she would constantly terrorize me, downgrade me, make me feel like trash, throw constant insults my way, and basically make my life a living hell. To make it worse, she was being screwed by Damien and will constantly brag about it, which I found disgusting. Don't cry. "Back the fück off." I hear my sister growl at Barbara, stepping in front of me and standing in front of Barbara, looking down at her since she is so tall, even taller than Barbara. "Or what? Is the little Omega going to cry?" She brings her fist to her face, moving it in a circular motion, pretending to wipe away her tears and mocking me. Don't. Cry. "Or I'll smash your f*****g face in and maybe then I can find your brain. Although I doubt I'll be successful considering I don't have a microscope on me." She growls and takes a step forward towards Barbara intimidatingly. Barbara is visibly scared but she immediately shakes her fear off and glances back down at me, almost as if she is letting me know that this isn't over. "W-Whatever, let's go guys, Damien's ceremony is about to start." She speaks and walks in between the rows, flipping her dark brown hair in the process as she turns around swiftly. My sister's always had my back, countless times. She is always there to defend me whenever I was being attacked, either verbally or physically. But I don't want to always have to rely on her, I need to be able to protect myself. I'm already used to this kind of treatment so I simply get up and dust the dirt and grass off my denim shorts. "Are you oka-." Naomi speaks but I cut her off quickly. "I'm fine." I tell her, not wanting her to worry. I pick the chair from the ground and sit on it, playing with my fingers. "She's so worthless, I mean look at her." One of the guys sitting in front of me whispers, but I was still able to hear them. I look up to them and catch them staring at me before they quickly look away. Small tears form in my eyes, but I blink them away and hang my head so that no one can see my face. Let's just get this stupid ceremony over with... "Good morning Black Moon." A loud masculine voice sounds. I lift my head up, bringing my attention to whoever is on the large raised platform. "Good morning Alpha." We say simultaneously. Alpha Raymond stand on the platform in a nice black tailored suit with his wife standing by his side, dressed in a fitted black, knee-length dress. "Today marks a new chapter for Black Moon. Change is about to happen, and let's hope it's a good one." He speaks with such authority to his voice. He commands the audience effortlessly as he continues to speak and went on to talk about day's the agenda. Once he is done, Luna Gabrielle begins to speak as well. "It gives us great pleasure to announce the new Alpha of the Black Moon pack. Our son, Damien Black!" With that, the crowd roars and cheers, clapping their hands loudly as Damien makes his way up the platform. He raises his hand to stop the crowd from cheering with a smile, then looks to face to everyone in the crowd except for me... Until he speaks. "Good Morning Black Moon." His voice reverberates in my mind. That's when my insides begin to churn uncontrollably, my heart thumping loudly. The blood heating up in my veins. And then the alluring scent hit me... Mate.
